part IV chapter 14 is probably the best bet, only 2 parts and you get an axe and VL right at the start. its also a good one to do a level with only plasma weapons ecause it's only 2 parts.

I dont think you can do it on Chapter 14 or it might just be hard because you really dont have enough ammo to kill all the chaos marines in the first fight.

I would like to recomend chapter 6. You start with the Power Axe, and the
Vengeance Launcher,and half the chapter is just running around getting to the
orks. I had no problem getting it on this chapter. |

If you're trying to do this in one playthrough, then #4 is probably the safer bet. It's pretty easy even on Hard. |

do exotic weapons & 'nades void this? Any you have to fire a different weapon to be considered "used" right? |

Yes grenades and exotic weapons void this, and yes, firing means using, not just switching to. I don't know about using a different melee weapon before picking up the axe during the chapter. I'm quite certain I used the combat knife before getting the chainsword when I got the "Master of Sword and Gun" achievement, though. |
