Introduction
Welcome True-Believers to the Amazing Spider-Man Achievement Guide Roadmap & FAQ. This is an open world action game with inspiration from previous open world Spidey games, and with a pinch of Arkham influence. This is my first rodeo so please bear with me; also feel free to post constructive criticisms and add things if I have missed anything. The guide will be divided as follows.
- Story (unmissable)
- Indoor collectibles
- Manhattan (Side Quests)
- Miscellaneous
- FAQ - Unlockables, DLC, Glitches and Tips.
Step 1: Super-Hero (Hard) Playthrough
It is advised to set the game to Super-Hero as the game is not that hard. Plus the other difficulty achievements are stackable so you can knock them all out when you finish the main story.
During this playthrough, progress through the main story until you complete it. That should take you between 7 and 10 hours. In Chapter 6, make sure you get the upgrade to display the missing mental patients on your map, otherwise it's a bit of a chore finding them. Also try and defeat the S-01 robot without touching the ground, this will eliminate the need for a replay of that level.
You shouldn't have to worry about collectibles for now, you can gain enough XP to level up and get the necessary upgrades to assist you without hunting down the collectibles. Enjoy the story!
These are the story progression, secret achievements which are mostly boss battles. In unlock order.
- Siege Averted
- Speed Bump Ahead
- Smell You Later
- Who's the Prey?
- Tail? You Lose
- Big Apple, Big Worm
- Pest Control
- Beating the Odds
- Tomorrow Is Saved
- Switched Off
- Deeply Sorry
- Welcome Back, Friend
- Peter Parker
- Vigilante
- Spider-Man
Step 2: Bosses Mop Up
When the game is complete you can go into Manhatten and free roam. At some point in the main game you will have been informed by Whitney that there has been disturbances in the sewers. Both of these disturbances are the 2 remaining boss-fights. Complete those and that's another two achievements done.
Step 3: Free Roam Mop Up
Enjoy being Spider-Man for a few hours and save all of the infected, take the escaped patience back to the asylum, complete the Xtreme Challenges, photo missions and police deadlocks. Then all you have left is the petty crimes and Oscorp labs which you can complete in about an hour.
Manhattan - Side Missions
This is free Roam mode, whenever you finish a story level you'll end up back at your apartment, this is a prime opportunity to do some side quests and help level up Spidey to make it easy on yourself. These don’t appear all at once, so if you have no more side missions on your map, continue with the story and the next time your back in Manhattan, more will be available.

FAQ - Unlockables
COMIC BOOKS - Collecting all 700 comic books in Manhattan with reward you with 10 digital comic books you can read at your leisure from the Main Menu.
ALTERNATE COSTUMES - Beenox have put free disc locked content in the game that is made available on certain dates by finding hidden Spider-Man emblems throughout Manhattan. To get them early you have to...
- Sign out of XBLive
- change the date on the dashboard to late August
- play the game offline (so the internet doesn’t auto correct the date)
- find the Spidey emblems and take a picture
- Now they're available in your apartment wardrobe
- Dashboard and sign back into live
- enjoy your new threads
Other costumes are made available by completing the story and 100% the game.
DLC
- At the moment there are two DLC packs with NO achievements
- "Stan lee Adventure Pack." Play as 89 year old Stan Lee in this short mini game similar to the Xtreme Races. Grab his script that’s flown out of his apartment and complete online for high scores. In addition you can swing around Manhattan as Stan and complete re-spawning side quests found in the main game; such as petty crimes, rescuing escaped asylum patients, car chases etc.
- Rhino DLC pack. Play as Aleksei Mikhailovich Sytsevich aka "The Rhino" in a mini game that involves charging through cars and causing destruction. You can also compete online for high scores.
Glitches
- To my knowledge there is 1 possible ACHIEVEMENT GLITCH regarding difficulty achievements. I played on Super-Hero (hard) online wearing the Scarlet Spider suit most of the game except the last few levels when I played in the default suit. I had NO problems with chapter 13 loading. And everything was ok for me.
- If you forget to take a picture of a boss, but only remember mid cut scene when you have already beaten him ......DO NOT DASHBOARD IT..... I dashboarded it mid cutscene and when I loaded back in I was at the start of the next checkpoint without the appropriate achievement. Notice my "Big Apple, Big Worm" & "Tail? You Lose" Achievements are out of order because of this. Only because I am a completionist and replayed the level immediately for a photo did I realize I missed an achievement. Perhaps because of this issue I now have this other one....
- I have done everything in the game, all story, side quests, all collectibles, all art work; except it still says 99% complete. It says I have only done 92% of boss battles and I am missing the new movie black suit (NOT the Raimi version) And 1 figurine in the "Extras" menu. I will replay the levels and if there is any change I will update this.
- I replayed all the boss levels and finally got my last suit once completing the last boss.
- Some players have been experiencing a glitch where the spider tracer upgrade is locked even though they've completed all missions/side missions.
Tips
- On super-Hero difficulty Stealth is your friend, learn to crawl on ceilings and "perch" with LS often
- When side missions become available, DO THEM. They help level up Spidey quicker and make life easier for you.
- Upgrades to focus on - Stealth Takedowns, Combat Boost, Any sort of suit resistance, Attack Damage.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Q: Do you need to take photos of all enemies to unlock concept art ?
A: Yes, taking pictures of all enemies through the game unlocks concept art.
Q: If you have missed any pictures of some enemies or bosses, can you just replay the chapter/level they are located in ?
A: Yes, after completing the game you will be able to go into your apartment and replay any story mission and also the side missions (Sewers, Oscrop Secret Labs & the Bank Robbery)
Q: Is there a list of all enemies you need to take photos of ?
A: Here is a link with the locations and enemies you have to photograph. Suggest printing this out or making a check list to know what enemies you have and/or missing. (This list also unlocks after you have completed the game): Enemy List & Locations or follow the video.
Conclusion
Remember to take pictures of all enemies at least once. You can keep track of your "enemy photo" progress by either looking at your emails under "bestiary" OR quitting to the main menu and looking at the figurines in the "Extras" menu. If it’s blacked out, you don’t have the photo. If you finished the side quest but still missing OSCORP SNIPER photo, they can be found in the Oscorp Secret Labs #2. They are behind the glass next to the machine gun.
This is an enjoyable game and very straight forward; although far too short, but a solid start from Beenox moving to the open world genre. It’s a shame it’s just not Spideys Arkham. Another straight forward, easy 1000 to add to the collection.
