Welcome to Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage! There are 12 achievements with a total of 400 points. These three games were very successful in the 90’s and have a huge following around the world. Three soundtrack CDs were released in all by Yuzo Koshiro and have been critically acclaimed, each of which now sell for high prices at auction and in Japanese markets. The Streets of Rage series is a huge financial success for Sega, who has developed and released all three games. The entire series has been re-released on various system platforms, handheld consoles, and mobile devices. They were all previously released on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection as well as Streets of Rage 2 being released to Xbox Live.
Streets of Rage
Preparation: Make sure you have a second controller plugged in, press Start on it to "activate" the second player.
Now on Controller 2 hold +++ and press on Controller 1.
You will be able to choose how many lives you start with (3, 5 or 7) and what level you begin the game on. Set the difficulty to Easy and the Lives to 7 then make a savestate here.
Now load up stage 8 with Axel, and beat the level. As soon as the credits start rolling, press to save and exit.
Finally, start up any stage apart from 8 with Axel, and use his attack. Once you have done this, press to exit out.
Streets of Rage 2
Preparation: Have that second controller active, then hold down +on it and press on pad 1.
You'll now be able to choose the Very Easy and Mania difficulties, your lives can be increased to nine and you can choose your starting level.
Anyway, choose Very Easy and nine lives, then make a savestate.
First, begin stage three using Sammy/Skate and play through and beat Zamza at the end of the level for "Declawer (Part II)." On the way to him, make sure you use your , + and attacks.
Next start on stage 4 as Max and beat Abadede for "Heavy-weight Champion," remembering to use your , +and attacks.
Now play through and beat stage 8 with Axel, using your , +and attacks at some stage. Wait until the credits roll before pressing to exit.
Finally play on any level with Blaze and use all three special attacks before quitting with .
Preparation: Set the game region to Japanese. I cannot stress enough just how much easier this will make the experience, not to mention how much better the game becomes. Ignore "Streets of Rage 3", it's an abomination.
Highlight Lives, activate Controller 2 and on that hold +++, while these buttons are held you will be able to select up to nine lives instead of five.
With Easy difficulty and nine lives selected you can create a savestate.
Next use Axel on stage 3. At the end you will fight his double, Break. Defeat him for "Imposters Need Not Apply," using all three special attacks on the way.
Now load up stage 6 using Zan. Complete the level, making sure you save the Chief for "A Hair's Breadth." Make sure you use all his specials. Continue through as you cannot select to start at level 8, so you may as well play to the end. Once you have defeated Mr X, and the credits roll, press to exit. This should be your final game completed and you should unlock "Syndicate Crusher" for a cool 100. Finally, start stage 6 with Skate. Use his , +and attacks, and this being the last character, you should unlock "A Display of Strength." Play through til the gas room and use the method in the guide to get to 120,000 points to unlock "Ultimate Power."
You should have everything by now, but you may have missed a character's special move or not have one of the throw achievements from SOR1. If so, this is your chance to go and finish up the game.
This roadmap sets out the quickest way to obtain the full 400. It won't take much longer if you play the game naturally, as none of the achievements are really difficult.
