Introduction:
Welcome to Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage! There are 12 achievements with a total of 400 points. These three games were very successful in the 90’s and have a huge following around the world. Three soundtrack CDs were released in all by Yuzo Koshiro and have been critically acclaimed, each of which now sell for high prices at auction and in Japanese markets. The Streets of Rage series is a huge financial success for Sega, who has developed and released all three games. The entire series has been re-released on various system platforms, handheld consoles, and mobile devices. They were all previously released on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection as well as Streets of Rage 2 being released to Xbox Live.

*Please note, the special move buttons noted here are for the default settings. If you change from default, you will need to modify these with your button configuration.

Step 1:
Streets of Rage
Preparation: Make sure you have a second controller plugged in, press Start on it to "activate" the second player.
At the main menu, highlight Options.
Now on Controller 2 hold +++ and press  on Controller 1.
You will be able to choose how many lives you start with (3, 5 or 7) and what level you begin the game on. Set the difficulty to Easy and the Lives to 7 then make a savestate here.

There are two throw related achievements in SOR1. While playing through the levels, make sure to throw an enemy and also recover from an enemy throw.

Load up stage 2 with Adam as your character. Play through until you face the clawed Souther. Defeat him for "Declawer (Part 1)." Make sure you use your  attack at least once. Quit out once you have the achievement.
Next load up stage 2 playing with Blaze. Play through until you have to face Mona & Lisa. Defeat them for "Beautiful, Yet Deadly." Make sure you use your  attack at least once. Once you have them beaten, quit out.
Now load up stage 8 with Axel, and beat the level. As soon as the credits start rolling, press  to save and exit.
Finally, start up any stage apart from 8 with Axel, and use his  attack. Once you have done this, press  to exit out.

Step 2:
Streets of Rage 2
Preparation: Have that second controller active, then hold down +on it and press  on pad 1.
You'll now be able to choose the Very Easy and Mania difficulties, your lives can be increased to nine and you can choose your starting level.
Anyway, choose Very Easy and nine lives, then make a savestate.
First, begin stage three using Sammy/Skate and play through and beat Zamza at the end of the level for "Declawer (Part II)." On the way to him, make sure you use your + and  attacks.
Next start on stage 4 as Max and beat Abadede for "Heavy-weight Champion," remembering to use your , +and  attacks.
Now play through and beat stage 8 with Axel, using your +and  attacks at some stage. Wait until the credits roll before pressing  to exit.
Finally play on any level with Blaze and use all three special attacks before quitting with .

Step 3:
Preparation: Set the game region to Japanese. I cannot stress enough just how much easier this will make the experience, not to mention how much better the game becomes. Ignore "Streets of Rage 3", it's an abomination.

Now at the main menu, highlight "Battle" then HOLD +, which will change the selection to Options, and press . You can now choose your starting round, up to six, but we're not done yet.
Highlight Lives, activate Controller 2 and on that hold +++, while these buttons are held you will be able to select up to nine lives instead of five.
With Easy difficulty and nine lives selected you can create a savestate.

Select stage 2 with Blaze as your character. When you fight Bruce and Roo, kill Bruce so Roo runs away unlocking "A Kangaroo's Best Friend." Make sure you use your + and  attacks at some stage.
Next use Axel on stage 3. At the end you will fight his double, Break. Defeat him for "Imposters Need Not Apply," using all three special attacks on the way.
Now load up stage 6 using Zan. Complete the level, making sure you save the Chief for "A Hair's Breadth." Make sure you use all his specials. Continue through as you cannot select to start at level 8, so you may as well play to the end. Once you have defeated Mr X, and the credits roll, press  to exit. This should be your final game completed and you should unlock "Syndicate Crusher" for a cool 100. Finally, start stage 6 with Skate. Use his +and  attacks, and this being the last character, you should unlock "A Display of Strength." Play through til the gas room and use the method in the guide to get to 120,000 points to unlock "Ultimate Power."

Mop Up:
You should have everything by now, but you may have missed a character's special move or not have one of the throw achievements from SOR1. If so, this is your chance to go and finish up the game.

This roadmap sets out the quickest way to obtain the full 400. It won't take much longer if you play the game naturally, as none of the achievements are really difficult.

[x360a would like to thank Corrupt x360a, SIMPLYMIDGET, and Exu for this Roadmap]

There are 12 achievements with a total of 400 points

  • Defeated Bruce and freed Roo in Streets of Rage 3.

Either use the level select to get there straight away, or play through until you get to stage 3. After a while you will encounter a boss fight with a kangaroo (Roo) and his trainer (Bruce). You need to make sure you kill Bruce before you kill Roo. Bruce normally hides off the edge of the screen so go to the opposite side to entice him out and hit him with your hard attacks. Using the Japanese ROM will make things easier for you. This can be done with any character and will unlock as soon as Bruce is dead.

  • Defeated Axel’s imposter single-handedly with Axel in Streets of Rage 3.

Play as Axel, and play through until stage two, or use the level select cheat to start there. At the end you will encounter Break, who is Axel's double. This is a pretty straightforward boss fight as he just has Axel's moves so you won't need to dodge much, just attack until he is dead. Remember this will be easier if you use the Japanese ROM. This will unlock as soon as he is defeated.

  • Max leveled a blitz attack in Streets of Rage 3.

You get a star under your health bar for every 40k points you get. You can either set the game to easy with 5 lives, and play cautiously through or you can use the cheap method.
To get this cheaply, simply load up level 6 using the level select cheat, on the very hard difficulty.
From the start, go left and down one floor in the elevator. Kill Gold and Silver then wait for the gas vents to turn on when the timer has run down. Enter the third door, and smash the crates inside for about 5000 points. As soon as you have everything you will be back in the original room. Go back in the room for another 5000, and rinse and repeat until the achievement unlocks.
  • Defeated Abadede in Stage 4 single-handedly with Max in Streets of Rage 2.

Either play through naturally or use the level select to go directly to stage 4, using Max as your character. You will meet Abadede pretty soon after you start the level. If playing on easy difficulty he is a pretty straightforward fight, giving little resistance to Max's massive power. This will unlock as soon as he is defeated.

  • Defeated the clawed Zamza in Stage 3 single-handedly with Skate in Streets of Rage 2.

With Skate as your selected character, get to Stage 3 naturally or using the level select cheat, and near the end you will have to fight Zamza. He is not too tough, use your special attacks to make light work of him. This will unlock once he is defeated.

  • Defeated the clawed Souther in Round 2 single-handedly with Adam in Streets of Rage.

With Adam as your character, use the level select or play through until stage two, and as you progress you will fight a clawed Souther. Use your special attacks and grapple him to make light work of him. This will unlock once you have defeated him.

  • Defeated Round 5's Mona & Lisa single-handedly with Blaze in Streets of Rage.

Using Blaze, get yourself to stage 5 using level select or playing through. You will get to a boss fight with Mona & Lisa, Blaze's twin sisters. They can be annoying to defeat as they jump around a lot. A good tactic is to wait until they jump at you then move back and attack them when they land. Utilize your special attack to drain some health before you finish them off.

  • Performed a recovery after being thrown in Streets of Rage.

When you are being thrown, you need to press  so you land on your feed. The guys in the yellow coats on SOR1 will try to throw you a lot, as will Mona & Lisa on stage five. The window for pressing it is pretty small, but you will be thrown quite a bit so won't be much of a challenge. It is advisable to go for the other achievements and come back to this if you don't have it at the end.

  • Threw an enemy in Streets of Rage.

For this achievement, you also need to let an enemy grab you from behind. Once they have you grabbed, press the D-Pad in desired direction and the attack button at the same time to throw the enemy.

A very easy way to unlock this achievement is to start up a two player co-op game. Right as the game starts, stand there and have player two walk up behind you and grab you (looks like a warm hug from behind). Once they have you grabbed, press the D-Pad in the desired direction and the attack button at the same time to throw the enemy
  • Used the special moves and attacks of every character in every game (hidden characters excluded).

For this achievement, you need to use each characters special attacks. For SOR1, you just need to hit  (or whatever you have assigned for special) with each character. In SOR 2 and SOR 3, you need to do the  attacks, the offensive specials (+) and the the blitz attacks (). You need to do this for every character in every game. You can exit out pressing  after each character if you so wish, it will still recognize that it has been done.

  • Cleared every game.

This is unlocked for completing all three games. You can either play through at your own pace or use the level select to go straight to stage 8 or SOR1 and SOR2. On SOR3 you can only jump to stage 7. Once you get to the credits screen on each game, make sure you press  to save to make sure the game registers the fact you have reached the end.

  • Saved General "The Chief"Peterov single-handedly with Zan in Streets of Rage 3.

This is for getting to Peterov before he dies. Remember for SOR3, the Japanese ROM will make this easier. Getting to him is pretty easy to do, but the quickest route is as follows:

As soon as you waste the robots, head left into the elevator and head down twice. Go right into the room, kill the two mooks and go into the middle door. Clear the room, kill the mooks again after exiting then go up one floor.
Kill the two gunmen and head into the middle door again. This room is a carbon copy of the previous one. Once you clean house, dash right to the Chief. No need to kill the mooks.

This achievement will unlock as soon as stage 7 starts up. You can use any character for this.
