This is a driving game that has multiple objectives to complete in each scene. I gave it an 8/10 because stringing the entire movie sequence can be pretty tricky. Some players can get it within the first couple of times they play the level, others take hours of playing a single level to string it.
Introduction:
Welcome to Stuntman: Ignition. This game has a total of 50 achievements to get to 1000. None of the achievements are missable and you can return to any level to re-play it anytime throughout the game. All of the online achievements can be done with a boosting partner. I included the “Entertainer” and “MasterMC” achievements in my online count because even though they can be done in single player, they require an internet connection.
Step #1: Prepare:
Check your pulse, because this game can increase your stress level by a factor of ten. When you play the game, look for anything and everything to stunt off of in between objectives. Look for crashed cars, trees, or even constant skidding with the e-brake to keep your multiplier alive.
Step #2: The Movies:
There are six movies with six scenes each. In order to maximize each movie (5 stars), you need to string your multiplier from beginning to end. This means that if you wait more than two seconds between stunts, you lose it. I would suggest first playing through the movies to unlock them all, but when you return to 5-star individual scenes, it is best to focus on a scene at a time and play through it until you beat it. This could take an hour or two for some of the trickier scenes, but if you keep bouncing around too much, you begin to forget the layout of the map.
The odd jobs and quick fixes function just like the movies. To get 5-stars you need to string from beginning to end. These achievements are why I gave the game an 8/10, they can be a real pain to do, but persevere through it. When I first started I never thought I could 5-star all of them, but with practice and an iron will you can do it!
Step #3: Constructor:
Constructor challenges are where you are given a number of objectives to complete, a bunch of raw props, and an open dirt arena. These take some time to do, learn how to string your multipliers. You do not have to string from beginning to end to get 5-stars, but the higher the multiplier, the quicker your score increases. A video guide has been submitted which is really helpful in figuring out the best way to design the track.
Step #4: Multiplayer:
Before I get to the boosting part, let me explain the "Entertainer" and "MasterMC" achievements. These are attained by designing a high scoring freestyle arena, and submitting a high score. Since this game is old and the multiplayer is mostly dead, you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting on the top 100, which is what unlocks the achievement. Here is a hint that is not on the guide, if you build a track that works, keep qualifying it, you can qualify the exact same track ten times to get the achievement.
For boosting, find a partner. Since you need to each get to 50 hosted games, if you switch halfway through it gets you pretty close to 100 total matches:
36 for each to win Backlot Battle with each vehicle
20 for both to win Backlot Races
40 for both to get Movie Scenes
Total: 96, and this doesn’t include the levels where you want to bash the heck out of each other to get “Rammer”.
The multiplayer is not difficult, but it can be time-consuming. It takes around 2.5 min for each Backlot Battle and Backlot Race if your partner is not trying to finish the race, so it adds up quickly. I would say you can complete it in 5 hours for you and your partner if boosting.
Conclusion:
The achievements are very straightforward and self-explanatory. However, prepare yourself for a long haul to 1000 this game. There will be times you just want to curl in a ball and cry because you lost that multiplier about fifty feet from the end goal, but it makes it all the more sweet when you finally finish the level. Happy playing!
