Do you have to collect all 2000 on one playthrough?

I'd bet not because I got my Heroic Accumulation achievement (collect 1,080 of the spiders) during my second playthrough, so crossing fingers, this achievo is the same.

I'd also found out that there were more than 2000 collectibles upon getting this achievement, so my question is does collecting anymore grant you any functional augmentation. I was under the impression the player had needed to collect them to be able to fully upgrade Spider-Man and get the achievement correlated with that, though the description for that achievement contradicts that, so whoever can help me out here that'd be appreciated.

I think you do need collectibles to fully upgrade but only up to lvl 9 which is like 700 or 800 of them.

I hate this achievement! I caught 2010 spiders in two days - it was insane!

best strategy would be to just swing through the city collecting them as you go alog the story, once you reach 1000 and gain the ability to see them as dots on your map start going through the city by breaking it into areas collecting all from one area to the next this prevents you from having to find that last 20 or so by spanning across the entire city. The good news is there are 160 more collectibles than needed for the acheivement so even if you don't take a methodic approach to collecting them you shouldn't have much trouble getting this one (I collected over 900 over the cours of 7 hours, and just got this one and I'm surrounded by red dots).

Can anyone verify what #3 said?
I was hoping so because I plan on playing this game twice to get all four end-game story path achievements, and if it stacks, I'll just casually focus on the collectables and it will unlock naturally. I'm sure it'll be pretty easy to just collect roughly 2000 emblems over the course of two playthroughs.
Any verification on this would be great. Thanks!

As the roadmap mentions. If you watch the credits (don't skip them) then select continue on the main menu and then watch the credits again (don't skip again) then select continue once more you will start the game a second time WITH all your tokens collected (and every time else as well)
A few of my friends are in the credits so I didn't mind so much :)

Also (and this might be common sense but who knows) it is A LOT easier to travel around the city tapping "RT" to get the tokens than simply swinging around. Tapping "RT" nearly always puts you exactly where you want to be (usually on top of the buildings next to a token)

#10 exactly, that's the easiest way. Well that's the way I did it and I have the achievement and still see golden spiders everywhere so that shows there is more than 2000.
