Introduction

Welcome to Score International Baja 1000. This game has 26 achievements for 1000 GS. This game only requires 1 career play through but you will have to replay certain races to unlock all the achievements.
I recommend you read through this entire Road Map before you begin playing. You will need to place first in every race, which is made MUCH easier as you reach the end of the career and unlock some fast vehicles. You can replay an event anytime, once it is unlocked. The BIGGEST challenge of this game is dealing with the Run-Your Ass-Over A.I. and the crappy level design. The good news is that once you get a fast dirt bike you will blow doors on the A.I. and since there are only a handful of maps you’ll learn them quickly.

Part 1- Career Mode
Focus on just finishing the career.
To get the majority of the achievements, all you have to do is play through the career. The next event level  (or ticket) will only open once you have gained a set number of points in the previous level. If you’re struggling on a certain event, skip it and finish some others Whenever possible use a dirt bike. They are faster and more maneuverable than any other vehicle types in the game.

Part 2- Replay Events

Here is where you’ll go back and win every race and unlock every vehicle.
 ·         As you progress you will unlock (slightly) better vehicles, use these to go back and win the races that you still need. The requirements for unlocking vehicles are posted on the vehicle selection screen and are easy to understand. I first focused on trying to unlock as many dirt bikes as possible because I knew this would make winning the races much easier. Use  to boost and  to reset your vehicle if you get off track or stuck. ·         You will only have to do extra work to unlock one vehicle – Tardan Senior Trophy Truck (knock off 100 opponents). This is easily done by starting the event in Ticket #7 – 7 dirt bikes vs. 1 truck. From the starting position take out as many other riders as possible (probably 1-3 max), then simply restart the race. Don’t waste your time trying to catch the others and finish the race. The knockoffs will accumulate but WILL NOT AUTOSAVE, you MUST go to the menu and save before signing out of the game.

·         The only other slightly tricky achievement is All Skill. Once you have a fast dirt bike (Blue Lightning) find a simple track that you know really well, do not take any damage (check the display for a visual guide) and place in the top 3, you do not have to win.

Conclusion
Score International Baja 1000 is not Dirt, but with some patience you can get the full 1000 gamerscore from this game relatively simply.

There are 26 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Unlock every vehicle.

Vehicles are unlocked by a number of different objectives, to view what you need to do to unlock certain vehicles just select an event in career and you'll be brought to the vehicle select screen. You can select any of the locked vehicles and the description of how to unlock it will be shown.

Completing career should unlock every vehicle except the Tardan Senior Trophy Truck, for which you need to gain 100 opponent knock-offs. To be able to get opponent knock-offs quickly you can go to Circuit #7 once you unlock it and select the race that pits you, in a Class 1 car, against 7 riders on dirt bikes. So If you require a quick fix to gain the knock-offs that's your place. Just drive and ram as many of the dirt bike riders you can and finish the race.
  • Complete the career.

There are a total of 44 different events throughout the eight Circuits and four Endurance races. Now for this achievement you don't need to win every single event to complete career, you just need to get enough points to unlock the different Circuits and Endurance races, as long as you complete each one you will complete career.

The only thing is, is that you must win every event if you want to unlock the "Perfectionist" achievement.
  • Place 1st in every career race.

At anytime in career you can select and retry any event you wish. Most events throughout career are easily won with a regular vehicle, but always choose wisely because the locked vehicles are not always the best out of them all. You need to gain the highest points possible in an event, but that shouldn't be an issue. The only events that will pose an issue will be the "beat the lap time" races, and for those I suggest racing them once and getting what you can. Don't try to beat these events until you have at least unlocked the final Dirt Bikes, only then and while driving one should you attempt to beat the lap times. I found the Blue Lightning Dirt Bike to be the fastest vehicle in the game.
  • Drive a total of 250 miles in career, exhibition, System Link, and Xbox LIVE.

Please see "Baja Ironman" for more info.
  • Drive a total of 500 miles in career, exhibition, System Link, and Xbox LIVE.

The 1000 miles will be gained easily through normal progression or Career mode. If you finish Career mode without having 1000 miles, just redo some of the races you have already completed.
  • Unlock the 2nd ticket in the career.

You must gain 35 career points in Endurance Regional #1, in Career mode to unlock second ticket, A.K.A Circuit #2. You gain career points depending upon where you place in the races. The higher you place the more points you receive.
  • Unlock the 3rd ticket in the career.

You must gain 30 career points in Circuit #2, in Career mode to unlock third ticket, A.K.A Circuit #3.
  • Unlock the 4th ticket in the career.

You must gain 40 career points in Circuit #3, in Career mode to unlock the forth ticket, A.K.A Circuit #4.
  • Unlock the 5th ticket in the career.

You must gain 35 career points in Endurance Regional #2, in Career mode to unlock the fifth ticket, A.K.A Circuit #5.
  • Unlock the 6th ticket in the career.

You must gain 50 career points in Circuit #5, in Career mode to unlock the sixth ticket, A.K.A Circuit #6.
  • Unlock the 7th ticket in the career.

You must gain 45 career points in Endurance Regional #3, in Career mode to unlock the seventh ticket, A.K.A Circuit #7.
  • Unlock the 8th ticket in the career.

You must gain 75 career points in Circuit #7, in Career mode to unlock the seventh ticket, A.K.A Circuit #8.
  • Place 1st in Endurance Regional #1.

First off, you must gain 30 career points in Circuit #1 to unlock this. Then once it's unlocked make sure to place 1st to unlock the achievement. If you don't win you can redo the race from the career menu, to try and gain the 1st place finish you need.
  • Place 1st in Endurance Regional #2.

First off, you must gain 45 career points in Circuit #4 to unlock this. Then once it's unlocked make sure to place 1st to unlock the achievement. If you don't win you can redo the race from the career menu, to try and gain the 1st place finish you need.
  • Place 1st in Endurance Regional #3.

First off, you must gain 55 points in Circuit #6 to unlock this. Then once it's unlocked make sure to place 1st to unlock the achievement. If you don't win you can redo the race from the career menu, to try and gain the 1st place finish you need.
  • Place 1st in Endurance Regional #4.

First off, gain 100 Career points in Circuit #8 to unlock this. Then once it's unlocked make sure to place 1st to unlock the achievement. If you don't win you can redo the race from the career menu, to try and gain the 1st place finish you need.
  • Finish any race in career, exhibition, System Link, or Xbox LIVE.

This will unlock after your first race of career, you don't have to beat the requirements, or even win. Just finish the race.
  • Wreck your vehicle in career, exhibition, System Link, or Xbox LIVE.

Begin any race in career and get up a good speed and aim directly for an obstacle, you'll know you wrecked your vehicle when your game goes into a slow-mo crash cam.
  • Podium

    10

Finish any race in first place in career, exhibition, System Link, or Xbox LIVE.

Please see the "Pink Slip" for more info.
  • Finish any race in the top 3 without any damage in career.

This one is tricky, and is best saved for once you get the hang of the controls and the maps. Also having a fast bike like the Blue Lightning dirt bike, which is unlocked later on in the game, will help you gain a good lead from the start, and hopefully stop the biggest pain of getting this achievement, the crash happy A.I.

Your damage is monitored in the upper right hand corner of the HUD, you are able to take lil scrapes and bumps, but if your HUD shows colour on your damage monitor then you will know you have been damaged and unable to gain the achievement.

Also, certain race types such as Head-to-Head and Endurance will not work. It must be a Circuit race.
  • Win a head to head race.

The second race in career is a Head to Head race against an ATV, winning this race will unlock this achievement as well as the "Podium" achievement all in one race, that's if you win it. If you don't win it just retry from the career menu.

Secret achievements

  • Spent 5 minutes in the air in career, exhibition, System Link, and Xbox LIVE!

There is no shortage of airtime in the game, progressing through Career should gain you more then enough minutes in the air for this achievement.
  • Knocked 20 other racers off of their vehicles in career, exhibition, System Link, and Xbox LIVE!

You might gain this while progressing through Career, or you may not. If you don't then you can go to Circuit #7 and select the race that pits you, in a Class 1 car, against 7 riders on dirt bikes. So If you require a quick fix to gain the knock-offs that's your place. Just drive and ram as many of the dirt bike riders you can and finish the race.
  • Lost a total of 100 vehicle parts during races in career, exhibition, System Link, and Xbox LIVE!

Every time you crash will loosen up the body panels of your vehicle, after too much abuse they will fall off and register toward the 100 total you need. This achievement should come through normal progression through Career, but if it doesn't just redo any race you have already done, and drive like a madman.
  • Crashed a vehicle 100 times in career, exhibition, System Link, and Xbox LIVE!

Every time you crash you go into a slow-mo view, each time you do will register toward the 100 total crashes you need. But be careful because to many crashes will ruin your vehicle and disqualify you from the race. This achievement should come through normal progression through Career, but if it doesn't just redo any race you have already done, and drive like a madman.
