You just need a high enough score. I began by just plowing through the game getting just enough points to qualify for events, but never got a double encore. I decided to start over and get more points on the easier songs in the beginning. And I qualified for the double encore on my first 3 events since. I would say level up the songs at least to the 70k effect pedal mark, and you should qualify for the double. |

I did this on my first gig after just playing the songs for the event once...lol
The trick is, getting the double encore is solely based on your performance in the random encore song. I don't know if it's based on note percentage or overall points, or what though.

I believe you must get 90% or greater accuracy on the encore song, to qualify for a double encore. |

An easy way to get this is to play bass. I'm pretty naff at guitar, but my first bass event (emulated) and bam, instant double encore. |
