Introduction:
Rock Band Track Pack: Metal features 20 songs with both released and previously unreleased Rock Band DLC in disc form (though all was offered later on). You DO NOT need another Rock Band game to play, it is a stand-alone game. Better yet, it offers a separate 12 achievements and 250 gamerscore. If you will need to be resourceful and have some friends in order to get all of them.

Step #1- Solo Tour
It is suggested to play on Easy as a Vocalist, as you will have to eventually anyways to 5-star "Red Devil". Ideally, you would want to get these tasks done during this Vocal Tour:
  • 5-Star "Red Devil". This MUST be done in the Vocal Solo Tour
  • 100% the song "Forever".
  • Try to 5-Star "Blinded by Fear". You can try later on a different instrument should you fail this task
  • Play through most of tour and play the songs "D.O.A", "Laid to Rest", and "Hair of the Dog".
Not required to complete this or any Solo Tour, but you will need to progress to the third tier for sure.

Step #2- Band Tour
Now this could be tricky. You could do a bunch of band oriented achievements if you have all 4 people and they are good. This is a variable that will be different from player to player. Here's a rundown of what you need to do as a band:
  • Complete the Band Tour on Medium Difficulty or higher. (2+ People)
  • Complete "Killed by Death" on Expert without a band member failing. (2+ People)
  • Get 4 stars or better playing "3s and 7s" with a Full Band. (Easy or higher)
  • Complete "Transmaniacon MC" as a Full Band, with all band members on Hard or Expert.
The Band Tour consists of the entire setlist of 20 songs. Tasks 2, 3 and 4 can be done later in Quickplay if you want.

Step #3- Score Duels and Quickplay
There is one song you are required to do in a Score Duel, and another in which it would help immensely:
  • "Screaming for Vengeance" on any difficulty. Requires two of the same instrument. (Required for achievement)
  • "Thrasher" on Expert Drums. Requires two drum sets. Score Duels are "no-fail" so you essentially pass the song just by sitting through the song. If you don't have two sets, you'll have to complete it regularly in Quickplay.
"Thrasher" is pretty intense, so finishing it in a Score Duel rather than actually playing it will save some headaches.

Two other tasks not covered in the roadmap that you will likely complete now in Quickplay:
  • 100% "Closer" on Bass. Any difficulty, only up-strums.
  • 5-Star "Master of the Universe" on Expert. Any instrument.

Now just do anything you had to skip in Steps 1+2.

Conclusion:
Getting the majority of the achievements is plausible, but getting all 250 will be a challenge with the need of local friends. Overall though it should be a fun experience using some tricks and exploits along the way.

There are 12 achievements with a total of 250 points

  • Complete "Killed by Death" on Expert without a band member failing

    (1)
Two or more people, two or more instruments, all on Expert. No tricks here, pick your best instrument and complete the song on Expert.
  • 5-star "Red Devil" as a Vocalist in Solo Tour

This is the only achievement which REQUIRES you to play a particular instrument in the Solo Tour. Therefore, the quickest way to get this and "Trinity" would be to play your Solo Tour as a Vocalist. Choose Easy difficulty.
  • 5 star "Master of the Universe" with any instrument on Expert

Play on your best instrument. You can go for this with a friend if you're working on your Band Tour, otherwise go for it on your own.
  • Complete "Transmaniacon MC" as a full band, with all band members on Hard or Expert

All four instruments: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals. This will also require three other people who are capable of playing well enough on Hard. Don't get fancy with your score, just save your friends if needed (or have them save you). Getting to the end is all that matters.
  • Play "Screaming for Vengeance" in a Score Duel

This requires two of the same instrument to complete. Finish the song regardless of score or result to unlock.
  • Hit 100% as a Bassist on "Closer," up-strums only

Play on Easy obviously. If you are accustomed to down-strums, you can flip your handedness, and play looking into a mirror. Although you will be strumming down, they will register as up, and the notes will appear normally in the mirror.
  • Score 100% as a Vocalist playing "Forever"

This comes down to skill as no tips can be given for vocal talent. Play on Easy and try humming if singing doesn't work for you.
  • Get 4 stars or better playing "3s and 7s" with a full band

This one requires the use of all four instruments: Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Vocals. It also requires 3 other people locally. There is no Xbox Live support so you are dependent on others to play with you and pass the song. Having all the equipment and gathering 3 others will be the main challenge here, as you can play the song on Easy.
  • Finish "Thrasher" as an Expert Drummer

    (1)
There are few methods of doing this. The first involves the obvious, passing the song in Quick Play or Solo Tour. Really comes down to skill, coordination, and practice, you're on your own.

The easiest method is if you have two sets of drums (Guitar Hero ones work too, remember). Play this song in a Score Duel as you can't fail in this competitive game mode. No matter the score or result, you technically are "finishing" the song.

Another involves playing in a band. Have the main profile as the Expert Drummer while the others play on Easy to help bail you out should you fail.

Yet another, is playing the song by yourself, but split up the responsibilities between friends (have some help you with the kick pedal, half the pads, etc.)
  • Complete Band Tour on Medium difficulty or greater

This requires at least two people, and instruments to accompany each one of them. Band Tour consists of the complete track list of 20 songs.
  • Play "D.O.A.", "Laid to Rest," and "Hair of the Dog" in Solo Tour

While difficulty or instrument doesn't matter, you can't mix and match instruments. Must do all three songs, in one single instrument's tour.
  • 5-Star "Blinded by Fear" on any instrument... with your eyes closed

    (5)
Before panicking about having to 5-star the song with a blindfold on or something, you can relax. They are simply added some humor to the achievement description. Play with your favorite instrument on Easy...with your eyes open if you want.
