This wouldn't unlock for me on expert.

It wouldn't unlock on Expert for me either. Also, I don't think hammer-ons count, you have to upstrum those as well.

Choose song Charlene, it's free to download it. After that choose difficulty HARD. After that just strum up the song, don't do any mistakes and you get the achievement.

@#1 & #2 - I have no idea about this, but it may not work if you are using
a GH controller. I don't know if the GH guitars register upstrums. For
this reason, I always use RB controllers for this achievement.

@#4- You might be right except the new GH warriors of rock guitar does count
upstrums. Only reason I know this is because it is some of the challenges in

I just got this with my GH2 guitar. You guys scared me with GH
controllers not working because my RB guitar is broken and can only be strummed

I was doing quickplay, you need to be in goals.
Got it on Charlene in a random goal to get a perfect end.

The easiest song EVER to get this on is So Whatcha' Want by the Beastie Boys. Literally its just green notes the whole song. and only like 2 notes every 5 seconds. Its a rock band 2 song and i just got it on that.

I'm not sure what's giving everyone else trouble, but I did this last night in free play using "Imagine". If you have even the least bit of talent with playing, this is extremely easy to do using this song. I did it on hard (it's all just single notes over and over) and up-strummed every note, even the hammer-ons.
If you have the RB2 songs, I also would third the BB song as an alternative.

I agree with #10, that's how i did it in RB2. Hell, if you have just one hand and it's a flipper instead of digits, use a rubber band. If you want to get creative you can always pull a "William Murderface"

Everyone that does not have it yet, try this (worked for me):
Choose "Imagine" by John Lennon and DON'T DO ANYTHING BEFORE the song starts, no strum for fun or some shit. Then hit every note by upstrum, of course. Play the HOPO's normally, no strumming. Boom, 'cheevo :D

I played the same song twice...
First time Bass Streaker popped only. I was like WTF?!?!
Second time I got Most Authentic Strummer.
No harm no foul. I think the glitch is that you have to get Bass Streaker out of the way first. Maybe RB3 cannot process more than one achievement at a time.

I also tried Charlene, but wasn't getting the achievement. I'd upstrum every note, but randomly during the chorus, the upstrum counter (which shows if you explicitly set the goal).
Personally, I recommend Imagine by John Lennon. Also a short song, notes are few and far between, and the upstrum counter never glitched on me. Even if you tend to be mistake-prone at the bass (like I am) you'll still get Imagine easily on Hard.

Erm - I meant to say - in Charlene, the upstrum percentage counter would start decreasing. I can only figure that my guitar strum was a bit loose, and with the rapid notes in the chorus, some counted as down strums (because I didn't miss any notes).
Anyway - Imagine is slower and easier. :)

Worries me how some people can't read....Doing it on expert when it clears says
"Hit 100% of the notes, only strumming up, on Hard Bass."
It doesn't say hard bass or higher.
@21 Thanks for the info about the counter if you set the goal, its been annoying me doing other achievements i dont know how im doing :/
And @20 RB3 has no probs doing more than one cheevo at a time, i've had it a few times.

Don't know why but I got it on "Charlene" but I had to FC it on Expert for the achievement to popup. I tried it on Hard too but even with 100% hit quote the achievement didn't come.
