    150

Acquire all of the bottle caps in the game.

  • How to unlock What Are They Worth?

As you progress through the game you will find blue doors with weapons on them. They are near Merchants. There are 5 in all but visting all 5 is not required. You may enter the last shooting range and earn all bottle caps. Below is a list over requirements. There are 24 bottle caps in all.

3 are located in the Castle and another is located on the Island (near a hallway with enemies constantly throwing TNT) and you can find another near the end of the game can't miss it.

Easy tip: Every Game Type (A,B,C,D) Try to hit all 25 targets first then after that just score above 3000 and you will unlock them all eventually. Hitting 5 Targets in a row will earn you a bonus target.

  • Hmmm I don't remember these in the game? :/ did you buy them off the merchant?
  • @1 They are from the shooting range as prizes
  • at least it won't be that easy of a game to 1k. some of those shooting ranges wasn't no joke. except for the wii. -__-
  • Oh well, never had problems with the shooting range :)
  • There was only 1 shooting range i had trouble with when i was younger and that ws the very last 1 u had to do, apart from that this game looks like a piece of piss lol
  • this one looks like it'll mean a new control pad, cos i threw my PS2 pad out of the window attempting the shooting range...
  • Every Resident Evil remake has easy achievements and one F-U achievement, at least this one is a lot easier than acquiring the rocket launcher in Veronica X.
  • @7 really? this is the only achievement even bordering on hard, and even then it just takes a lot of patience and persistence. I have horrible aim and I still managed this without too many issues. Be glad there aren't special weapon achievements like code: veronica has. They could have had one for the hand cannon (beat all mercenaries maps getting all stars (I think you could get 4 total) with every character!), which is the only think I never got in this game. plus if you wait to get the chicago type writter its even easier.
  • You can't use the Chicago Type Writter on the shoot range, He gives you 2 choices of weapon sets to use, and they are not even upgraded to the level you have it at! And CVX has 2 F-U achievements, the 1 for the Linear Launcher is also one since you you have to get top rank with all characters and Wesker only has a F-IN knife, on top of that the mode was not even that much fun!
  • Ok, this will be somewhat of a challenge. It was decent on the Gamecube, not terribly hard but ok. The wii made it too bloody easy. I'm glad this is in the achievements :)
  • oh god shooting not shooting anything but that noooooooooooooooo
  • i thought i was going to be able to have the 1000 for this game in about 4-5 hours until isaw this achievement
  • Urgh more reasons to despise ashly as a achviment hunters everywhere blame her for this achviment remaining out of their grasp lose 1000 point if you shoot her if i remember
  • I don't remember this at all
  • The shooting range open's from the merchant during the second scenario of the game.(Castle) From there complete all the challenge's he has in the range and you use weapon set's provided from the merchant. This is fairly easy just play through each stage to get a feel for it and from there it's a cake walk! Also from what I remember shoot the lantern's for a score bonus.
  • Used to love these when I played the game on the playstation 2, loved how you could hear the voices through them!
  • What ever happened to playing the game for the game and not the F-in achievements, come on people, even if this game didn't have achievements everyone should download it
  • IanPrime, this is exactly the right place for people to discuss and/or complain about Achievements. Don't forget what site you're visiting and what section of the site. ~ ~
  • Man I wish they had achievements back on Dreamcast/PS1/older etc... I would have already had all of these done with. Oh well, at least getting these achievements is a great reason to go back and play the RE games :) (if you actually needed a reason)
  • I'm not great at RE games but I definitely did this on the cube, so hopefully I will get full 1k out of this game !!
  • I hated those shooting ranges... so many hours of my life gone and now I have to do it again. Maybe it will be easier on xbox controls and after all the practice with FPS that i have got over the years..... Still not looking forward to that
  • @3 funny enough the shooting range was harder for me on the Wii as opposed to the PS2 or Gamecube... not sure why the rest of the game was cake.
  • @#17 Dude im a hardcore RE fan, I been playin' them ever since tha first one. Even if there wasn't achievements I would DL this HD collection, tha achievements are just a bonus. I wish they would have been a lil more creative with them though seein' as it's 1000 and not 200. Still it's a Day#1 buy for me, can't help it im a slave to tha RE franchise.
  • i also love anything with resi in the name can anyone remember the last map on mercenanies where u had a big nutter swinging his chainsaw round like leatherface he was hard 2 kill should have put him in the campaign
  • All achievements will be easy beat the game literally over 50 times
  • @ 25.... Agreed, 2 play throughs for the bulk and then the side story missions and done.
  • Who cares how easy the achievements are. I am just glad to have RE4 back.
  • I'd be happier if I didn't have to pay $20 for it
  • @24 the last map in mercs was water world with the big ass double blade chainsaw wielding mini bosses
  • @24@29 those big ass chainsaw bosses are called super doctor salvadors just so ya know i have every single biohazard game to date and this is my 3rd favorite 2nd is outbreak 1st is last escape[nemisis] this is awesome go capcom!!!
  • i meant nemesis lol sorry for this mistype
  • Oh god no...
  • You know, I am not actually that upset about this achievement. I remember having this on GC and STILL getting every bottle cap, beating every mercenaries mission, getting all the collectables and fully upgrading all my guns because I
  • I beat the shite out of this game on the Game Cube and than again later on the PS2. Never bothered with the crappy PC port because of the huge difference in graphics. This game shouldn't take more than a week, 2 at most, of casual gaming to complete.
  • You need to hit every target from A to C using the Raped-fire and Sniping class. It doesn't matter what gun you use to do this.
  • You just don't need to hit every target, you must score over 3,00 points to win 1 bottle cap.
  • 3,000* Funny how I see 3 0's before I post and after I see 2
  • This is weird as I have 24 bottle caps now up to chapter 4-2 & still another 6 to go. Think you need to get some only after a certain point in the game weapon choice does not seem to matter.
  • This is the only achievement I think is going to be a pain in the butt, too bad the don't add more achievements to the game.
  • Got it!! You have to beat game type A,B,C,D. You must also get a perfect score & not hit Ashley using all the weapons on all 4 game types! Its gamepad throwing frustrating only due to the controls but stick with it & persevere 150GS is a good reward this is probably the hardest achievement in the game......
  • @38 i dont think its possible to have 24 bottle caps by chapter 4-2 i just saved on chapter 4-2 with 18 bottle caps because i only have game type A,B,C unlocked and you get 6 bottle caps per game type i could be wrong but thats all i have. I hope you don't have to get perfect scores because that would suck major ass
  • @8 Are you fucking kidding me? I WISH there was an achievement to get 5 stars on all maps with all characters in Mercenaries... I loved that mode! I played it so much I would get 150,000 on stages when only 60,000 is required for 5 stars... its not easy by any means but it is extremely worth it... you dont know what you are missing... @29 It was called The Harbor... just for the record... this was always my favorite :)
  • @42. I remember it as water World. Never saw it called Harbour anywhere :s
  • Ok, so this achievement wasn't THAT hard...I hate how the sights bounce all over the damn place, but I was able to get all 6 for rows 1,2 and 3 so far in little time. You can also get the 6th bottlecap by getting 4,000 points OR hitting all 25 targets without hitting Ashley. I've used the handgun only for all modes and rounds.
  • I just got the achievement myself. Took a while but I used the sniper riffle to hit the targets heads and when the bonus target comes into play hit that ASAP but aim good. Even if you don't hit all normal targets the extra target will make up for it. Hope this helps ^_^
  • I'm getting over 3,000 points but I'm not earning any additional bottle caps on the third shooting gallery. I'm stuck at 2. I thought this might have been a game glitch but maybe they changed it for this version. The shooting gallery file didn't say anything about having to play all the different game modes to get all of the caps.
  • @46 i hate you.
  • @46 im glad your experiencing glitches and i hope you never complete this game i wouldn't spit in your direction.
  • Just keep using the handgun for all of the games. Go for body shots as they're easier to hit and get your 5 in a row for the Salazar target. You should have over 3000 easily with a few Salazars in there.
  • Do you have to go through on pro to get this? Or can i get this on my normal run n by wat chapter am i able to have them all ?
  • @SangheliZealotX Troll!!!! *sprays troll with true love and milk*
  • @51 Don't forget rainbows. In other news, I bloody hate this achievement. The shooting range on Dead Space took me like...2 tries I think. This? Fffffuuuuu.
  • This achievement was kinda hard to get. Reason why is because Leon's aim sucks. He's shacking the gun like he's on crack or something. The least Capcom could of done is fix that little bug in the game. Hell Chris's aim in RE5 is more steady then Leon.
  • hey I'd like to see you hold a gun steady!
  • I'm working on it now, and find using the TMP in a semi auto fashion works well.
  • can you miss these? or can you play these after you beat the game?
  • yes you can miss these just look out for the blue doors with guns on them one in castle one on the island and few others ve just got the 1000 gs i remember this being alot harder on ps2 , plus its woth doing this on every playthrough cause on professional you'll need all the money u can get
  • well im guessing they go row by row? im usually real good about searching every room and making sure not to miss everything, but the first range i found filled the front row, but the second filled the 3rd row, and the 3rd filled the 4th row. so im guessing i missed the range that would give me the 2nd row? or do they do them out of turn? or is there a range i can earn 12 caps at? i assumed there were 4 ranges and 6 caps at each
  • gah i hate this, i only spent a week at this on the cube and never did it for my ps2 copy... Ahhhhh, i hate the shooting range anyway just unlock all the shooting ranges and keep a save near the end by a shooting range and then u can go for this any time u feel like it.
  • Frustrating since Leon can't hold his gun still! Actually not too bad. I found that going single-shot with the tmp worked best for this, since it has 50 bullets. Make sure you get at least 3 of the salazar targets and don't Ashley! Don't worry about getting headshots, body shots are good. Play each one through a few times to memorize the patterns. You can wait until chapter 5-3, since all of the game types will be unlocked. D was the only hard one for me.
  • Got one more left. After 10 tries I completely nerd raged and stopped playing. Gonna try to get it on my next playthrough!
  • Tough achievement. Getting all of the bottlecaps was easy on the Wii but the Xbox 360 pad is more of a challenge. Looking forward to it though!
  • I haven't played this game for years and just spent 30mins doin' the first range over and over wonderin' why I wasn't gettin' any more caps lol. So you find other ranges later on in the game? Can you access the range from the menu or only in game?
  • To do this: Defeat Salazar first get into the island, find the sub mission door and then talk to the merchant and i prefer going rapid fire because sniping is good for the lower groups and rapid fire is good for higher classes like i mostly recommend use a TMP then aim at the head on targets as fast as you can to get the special caps and cloud for xtra points, never hit Ashley though you will lose 1000 points and a special bottle cap. You will get all four sections after you defeated Salazar first. I had the achievement before finishing the game so it wasn't too hard at all and like it says it's target practice :D
  • i used only the pistol to get these when it originally came out on gamecube wonder if it will be the same
  • @19 AltruismIsDead I agree, but what messed me up when I 1st started playing this was the controls...I am so used to RE5 controls that these made me dizzy for a minute. Still a great game and in my opinion, the BEST Resident Evil to date. I hope they re-make the re-make of Resident Evil 1 from Gamecube.
  • EAAASSSSYYYYY
  • Handgun still works like a charm!
  • I found this is easiest done with the TMP
  • I have two more caps to get on row B (neither of which are the special cap, i already have it for row B)and everytime im scoring above 3000 points and it will not give me any new bottle caps. is anyone else having this problem? any suggestions?
  • Your sure its row B? The tier goes like this, bottom one is A, next above is B, above that one is C and the top tier is D.
  • Shockinly the hand gun is clutch for this and it only took me about a half day on each session. @#70 are u making sure to leave the room and coming back in? because although u can get 4 of the what... 6 or 8 caps to a row the other half u can obtain by leaving the room and coming back in to start a new rotation on the targets. In other words if u stay in the room too long doing the one session that other half wont be obtainable until u leave and come back in and u shouldnt have to talk to the merchant either
  • This is so easy it's not even funny, i got all of them in probably under an hour and half and no you never have to leave the room, dunno what 72 is talking about
  • My aiming sucks in this game idk why cuz in RE5 I had better accuracy plus Leon shakes the damn gun all the time but I'll give this a try on the last range you can do this in.. Saves me time doing them at each range.
  • Leon has Parkinson's disease, making this sooo much more annoying than it should be. i think they should let you use whatever pistol you currently have. Red9 would've been so much better. i FINALLY managed to do it though.
  • i wish there was a hand cannon one, once you figured out where all the time things are then merc mod is simple to 5* haha this is the one thing i didnt do in re4
  • Got this achievement today. I only used the hand gun and NEVER got the 3,000 points it says you need. I just hit all the targets and a couple of bonus targets on each round, and played each game type until it said I had 6 bottle caps (about 5-6 rounds for each game type). I think I got over 2,500 points once and still got them all, so I don't know why the guide says you need 3,000.
  • The shitest achievement ever, so boring and FUCKING POINTLESS, FUCK THIS SHIT.
  • This is one of those achievements that the average gamer should stretch out over days. Make a save in Chapter 5-3 right outside the shooting range, try the range until you feel like punching things, put it down and try again later. Repeat as necessary. It also helps if you take certain angles in the range, such as standing all the way to the left or right. The D variation should force you to move a bit anyhow.
  • just got mine in chapter5-1 or 5-3 dont remember but try it out first with the tmp the if it gets to hard use the sniper cause u can get the 500 points shooting the lantern way in the back u can miss target to and go for it cause its worth 5 targets pretty much the the second to last and last row are the hardest cause there are so many ashelys in the freaking way mix it up between rapid fire and sniping and you will get it in like an hour just got mine
  • Ok this is much harder than what I remember playing on the gc version. I can't seem to get one last bottlecap in row D, it's actually the machine gun guy that would be on the very last position on the right side. But I can't get him. I shot all 25 targets in row D but he didn't appear. Am I suppose to get a higher score than Ada's then?? Why is this so much harder than what I remember?!!
  • Omg finally did it! Used sniper and aimed for head shots, every time Salazar appears shoot him. I got this with 3950 points.
  • Hey guys, Maybe you can help me out: I'm going through the game again on professional and this time doing the shooting ranges... these damn places never seem to give me any bottle caps. I got the first row A semi easy but in gallery B it seems to be completely random. I've gotten two so far, the Bella Sisters and the chainsaw guy next to them. I don't even know how I got those two... getting over 3000 isn't a problem but i never get a cap. I scored 4600 once (hit every target too) and only got one... I'm really confused on how to actually get these? Is it harder on professional? Please help!! Cheers
  • Here's the deal to get all bottle caps: 1) you need to know that every kind of game , A, B, C e D gives you only 6 bottle. That means if i already got line 1, i'll not receive any other bottle from game A, it's respectly: Row 1 - game A Row 2 - game B Row 3 - game C Row 4 - game D 2) To get the bottles, aways score 3000 or more. For this, headshot is not so important....the important is to hit as many target in a row with out miss a shot. That will open the lamp that gives you 500 points. So if you hit 10 targets in the head, is less than hit 9 targets in the body and 1 in the head plus the lamp. So go easy on aim.
  • This is very difficult, managed to get this eventually. The hardest part of this is doing Game D hitting all the targets. Every other bottlecap is fine to get, just the JJ (Gatling gun guy). For the JJ, you have to either get 4000 points or hit all targets (other than Ashley) on Game Type D, which is very hard. Use the basic pistol, not the sniper and just keep trying, that's is all I can say.
  • GOD FUCKING DAMMIT. I never thought I'd actually miss the Wii controls on this game, but Leon shakes more than a horny 13 year-old virgin in a high class brothel with three cups of cappuccino in him. Now I remember why I stopped playing this on PS2 years back. He's a federal agent, for Christ's sake - you don't think he'd be able to calm down for forty-five seconds in a shooting range?
  • Once again, it's a Resident Evil comment section full of assholes. Who could've expected it? I came here for advice, and once more there's nothing but boasting and cock-waving. If anyone is actually here for a tip or two, all I'll say is that persistence is the key. It'll take time. I failed probably six times in a row, and then never again after that. It's all about getting used to the game, just like the shooting ranges in Legend of Zelda. Also, gmufn, go fuck yourself. No one gives a shit about your childish need for affirmation. Beating this game "literally over fifty times" isn't exactly an accomplishment, and it apparently doesn't mean you're not an asshole. I have yet to read a single post by you that's worth two twisted shits.
  • This turned out not to be as bad as I thought after my first tries. As mentioned above, I went for the 100% targets hit reward first. It will get you familiar with the layout and you won't forget whether or not you got the related cap. Ignore Salazar's head here or you might miss a target. When going for scores, I used Sniping weapons- the handgun mostly, and the rifle for Salazar only (5 straight hits with the rifle doesn't seem to make Salazar appear). I basically went for headshots only on targets in the first two rows- any further and Leon's shaking makes it hard to string hits together.
  • Other tips: -At the start move a bit to the right / left so you're not right on the middle line. This'll make it easier to shoot around Ashley. -Don't track moving targets. Keep your sight in the target's path and let it get walk into the shot. -Some Ganados have dynamite. Shot it to destroy all enemies at once. This also will trigger Salazar, if enough are hit at once. -If you screw up, you can just go to the door, choose cancel, then ring the bell again instead of waiting for the thing to finish.
