Introduction:
Welcome to Rainbow Six Vegas 2. This game has a total of 47 achievements worth 1000 . The achievements for this game are not too difficult and a majority of them can be boosted.
There is currently a glitch on the Freedom Shall Prevail achievement. If you play through the game while hosting a co-op match then you might not get the achievement. To get around this, you can just play through the game by yourself, it is not extremely hard if you use a lot of cover and use your teammates wisely. If you really are having trouble playing by yourself though, if you play through in co-op and don’t get the achievement, have someone else host a match and you should get it after playing a few scenes.
There is also a glitch for the Private First Class achievement. If you can connect to Live then you will download a patch to allow you to get the achievement once you reach the proper rank, but if you cannot connect to Live then you will be unable to get this achievement.
If you do not have an Xbox Live Vision Camera then you will be unable to get the full 1000. There is an achievement where you have to use the camera to take a picture of yourself and use it to create a character.
NOTE: If an achievement can be achieved online or offline, I counted it as an offline achievement.
Step 1: Realistic Playthrough
When you first load the game up, you will be prompted to create a character. If you have an Xbox Live Vision Camera then use it to take a picture of yourself to customize your character and get the achievement. If you don’t like how it turns out, you can change it later.
I highly suggest playing through the game on realistic difficulty first. The game is not extremely difficult but it can be challenging at times. The easiest way to complete the game on Realistic is by playing in co-op. You can either play in co-op with a separate controller or over Xbox Live. If you play through the game in co-op you will also not need to go back and replay any missions to get the co-op achievements.
During the game you will have to fight through various close quarters situations. While in these areas, it is best to use a shotgun. If you kill enough enemies you will also get an achievement.
When you are using an automatic rifle, it is best to use a Silencer. This will prevent enemies from hearing you so you can sneak up on them and kill them easier. You will come to various areas where you will look around cover and there will be a lot of enemies. These are the best places to kill 5 enemies in a row with head shots. Take your time while aiming, you should only need one shot.
When you are climbing on ropes and you see enemies, it is best to not shoot them in the head or get and other kind of bonus other than just a normal kill. If you get a head shot bonus or any other bonus other than a rope kill, this kill will not count towards killing 25 enemies while on a rope.
You should be able to rank up a lot during this playthrough. You rank up by getting kills and completing A.C.E.S challenges.
Step 2: Terrorist Hunts
By now, you should have 15 achievements if you played through in co-op and got all the extra achievements but if you didn’t get any extra achievements and played through solo then you will only have 8. Now it is time for you to do terrorist hunt missions. There are only 4 Terrorist Hunt achievements but you can get any extra achievements that you may have missed during the story mode.
When you first start, it is best to play on Realistic with a full room of 4 people in co-op. By playing with 3 other people, if one of you dies, you can continue playing and still complete the level. If you host a room then the game will keep track of the last map that you played a mission on. When you try to complete every mission, host a room to play through them and change the settings to cycle through all the maps. Once you complete a map, take it out of the rotation. It is easy to keep track of the remaining maps you have to complete by doing this because they will be the only maps remaining in the rotation.
Step 3: Multiplayer
Once you have received every single player achievement, it is time to play some multiplayer. You will need at least 6 people in the room for all of these achievements, so if you host a game, make sure you don’t start until there are six people.
It is best to play Attack and Defend to get all of those achievements, Survival to kill 5 enemies in a row without respawns, and then play Team Leader to get that achievement, get all your remaining kills, and then rank up your remaining levels.
While you are going for these achievements, work on getting all of the weapon kill achievements. Once you have the achievement for one type of weapon, switch to another type to get that achievement.
The easiest way to get all of these achievements is by setting up a room with 6 people total and then boosting the achievements. To find other people to boost with, look in the Achievement Trading Thread.
Step 4: Mop Up
Once you have completed all of the multiplayer achievements, you need to rank up the rest of the way and complete all of you’re A.C.E.S challenges. The easiest way to rank up is by playing Team Leader. For a way to get easy A.C.E.S points, look here.
Conclusion:
This game is not hard to get the full 1000 in, but it might take a really long time to achieve the rank of Elite and complete the game. If you are still missing single player achievements after playing through the story and all of the terrorist hunt missions, then the easiest way to get them is by replaying some terrorist hunt missions and only going for those achievements.
