  • I wonder if it comes with excessively increased enemy speed, attack rates and respawning...
  • "Forward, the Light Brigade!" Was there a man dismay'd? Not tho' the soldier knew Someone had blunder'd: Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die: Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon in front of them Volley'd and thunder'd; Storm'd at with shot and shell, Boldly they rode and well, Into the jaws of Death, Into the mouth of Hell Rode the six hundred.
  • @1 this is the first explanation of difficulty and stupidity i.e attemting insane/veteran/hard/nightmare/legendary/impossible difficulties. lol
  • Looks like fun. Are pink fluffy bunny rabbits included on this setting? .
  • 25G that's it?
  • I hate these campaign difficulty achievements, especially the nighmare/insane ones. (Flips the bird to Call of Duty)
  • Hopefully Nightmare won't be too hard, but somewhat challenging. I'm sure there are ways to go about things to finish the game quicker and easier (i.e. upgrades to buy, things to do in a certain way, etc.)
  • Perhaps there will be a new game + option, where you can use your character from a previous play-through? It would help!
  • so do you have to go through one playthrough to unlock nightmare?
  • @6 I have played the last 2 CoD's on Veteran first playthrough. They aren't that hard. IDK why everyone acts like they are, Gears is harder than CoD.
  • 25G????? are you kidding.....
  • Hope the difficulty achievements are stackable. If they aren't, the game looks good enough that I think most of us would enjoy multiple play-throughs.
  • it maybe just like fallout new vegas on hardcore but a little more extreme.
  • @10 try playing cod 4 and cod 5 on veteran, or go old school to cod 2 and 3, then you'll see what he means. The last two cods were the easiest veteran campaigns they've released.
  • @14 Yeah the CoD 2 veteran campaign was without a doubt the most difficult campaign ever. @10 The reason I hate CoD is because of these Veteran achievements and I'll tell you why. It is because the AI in that game only goes for you. Seriously, you can have 4 teammates surrounding you but the goddamn enemies always shoot for you and you only, thereby not attacking your companions. (Single player I'm talking). Also, it really sucks to die after 2-3 bullets.
  • Ive beaten every Call of Duty on Veteran (yes even Call of Duty "Classic") they are hard but not impossible. Thats why they are so much fun. If it wasn’t for me discovering that beating a Call of Duty game on Veteran is possible to begin with I never would of even tried to beat other games on hard. Now I beat every game on the hard. I love beating games on the hardest difficulty and even better if there is an achievement for it.
  • You all think 25G is bad... Bulletwitch gives you 5G for beating the game on the hardest difficulty! I almost always love 100% achievements, so much to do, this game should be no different.
  • i would like if the nightmare difficult isn't as hard as CoD Veteran but still harder then then the BFBC2 difficult, i love a good challange but i dont want to struggle with one thing for hours. CANT WAIT TO GET THE GAME!
  • Hopefully these achievements stack
  • Is it to where you have to complete 1 playthrough to unlock this difficulty
  • @16, I have also beat every COD on veteran, including Classic. Agreed, they are hard, but not impossible.
  • should be at least 75 points. imo
  • 25G SERIOUSLY!!! id u've gotta be pulling ma legs
  • Halo on Legendary and CoD on Veteran are much more attainable then Gears of War on Insane! I'll be playing this game on normal first, then after i've grown used to the control scheme and the weapons and enemies i'll attempt nightmare.
  • I personally thought Gears of War games were easy on Insane, and that Call of Duty wasn't "hard" but annoying on Veteran (rarely played CoD), and that Halo was somewhat difficult. Games aren't too hard if you truly play it enough and work hard at it however.
  • In Gears of War you don't have anywhere to go and imo die a lot quicker. You are almost always confined in small areas compared to the more open areas in Halo or CoD. You have more room in those games to fight in and hell in Halo you don't even need to kill everything to move on just get to the next checkpoint/area. I do agree that CoD games are more annoying on the veteran difficuly then they are difficult.
  • Gear of War is more difficult that CoD. Maybe this more than Gears.
  • Não vejo a hora de jogar essa obra prima! ;D
  • Não vejo a hora de jogar essa obra prima! ;D
  • @ 28+29 ENGLISH PLEASE! Vollhonk...
  • Stack-able, I'm sure.
  • easy with god mode
  • You do not need to be the game prior to unlocking the Nightmare mode.
  • @#30 www=World Wide Web. If you're that concerned about it, take up a new language or copy/paste to google translator. Not everyone speaks English, man.
  • they are stackable and you can jump right in on nightmare.. so for people complaining about the 25g you will get 125g on complation =]
  • completion*
  • @#34 This whole website is written in English it helps if you post in English. On topic at least if its too intense you will only lose 25g and not 150g such as Dead Space
  • i gotta say ive been goin through the game on nightmare and its not too crazy....the regular baddies drop with a few shots from the pistol and you get a solid handful of hits before you drop.....a little extra caution is necessary but other than that id say go for it....plus you squeeze a little more play time out of the game....just SAVE SAVE SAVE SAVE
  • guys, i dunno how to say this but no one really gives half a damn if you beat COD or Gears or Halo on Insane/Veteran/Princess Pony difficulty. this is supposed to be a thread about RAGE so if it pertains to RAGE then go ahead reference it, but when half the comments are guys basically bragging about how they beat everything on the hardest difficulty and it was so easy, that doesn't help
  • It's easier than COD if you ask me,not as hard as veteran difficulty in cod. Haven't played on nightmare yet, I am on hard and in Authority Prison now. But do pay extra attention to environment and other clues, I found that sometimes during some of the intense fights, enemies will try to use environment (giant flash light) to fight against you. Aiming down sight is not necessary, unless the target if far away. Do try things other than assault rifle will help out, crowbow and wingstick are lifesaver. And most important, save often!
  • I think I'm going to try and jump straight in on nightmare. should be fun :)
  • I just beat it on nightmare and it really wasnt as hrd as i thought it would be. You should be fine as long as you make sure you always have lots of bandages and buy suit upgrades always. Remember to save all the time. Wingstick and shotgun do really well together.ALWAYS LOOT EVERYONE AND GRAB EVERYTHING. You will need the money. And when you can make the bandages, buy the stuff nd make them instead of buying them. It saves a lot of money over time.
  • @42 It is not hard indeed. Just beat the campaign on Nightmare My experience is to rely on the following weapons: pistol (fat boy/ big momma), combat shotgun (all three ammo, pop rocket is really good), sniper rifle, and the final authority cannon. Big Momma is by far my favorite ammo, I stockpiled up to 120-ish to deal with most of the enemies. Know to spend the cash you earned accordingly, near the end of the game (when you got the pulse cannon), spend all your cash on its ammo (BFG is not necessary). Plus build some advanced robots will come in handy.
  • For cash: you can do mutant bash TV multiple times to earn enough. I did it to get my armor upgrade to heavy. Also, a slow way to gain infinite money, not sure if it works after the live update: http://au.ign.com/cheats/games/rage-pc-926419 Hope it helps you guy out of the cash problem
  • @ 1 Enemies take more hits to take down (headshot with heavy weapon is still instant kill). The only two places with infinite re-spawn are 1) wasted garage (upon the first boss fight), 2) blue line station (after you defeat two boss characters). Not so difficult as long as you play it slow and careful.
  • Beat it on Nightmare for my first playthrough. Not too difficult since most enemies are killed in 1 or 2 head shots and those that aren't, well, that's why the game has poprockets.
  • Head shots with the sniper or crossbow that is.
  • I think it is Easy on Nightmare so far, died a few times because i was lacking ammo. once you get further into the game it becomes easier as you get a lot of money to spend if you do all the side quest.
  • It's pretty crazy if they wouldnt stack the achievements for difficulty.
  • does anyone know if you can just change the difficultiy to nightmare just before the end of the game, so you get all the achievements???
  • Is anyone else struggling with just the races on this difficulty? -_- I played through on easy just beucase i thought the game was crap at GAMEfest and wanted it to be good and it was amazing, got it on nightmare the people are easy enough to deal with but these races are annoying the hell out of me, you get shot by all 3 AI computers they dont aim for each other and then when you finally blow one up they somehow appear right beside you doing same speed :/ if anyone can give me tips how to beat the races it would be appreciated
  • the achievements do stack. almost done disc 1 on nightmare and its super easy as long as you have a steady supply of bandages and you use alot of cover.
  • its clear that these are stacked but I'm going through on the easies difficulty first to find all the collectibles and side missions and so on
  • @51 i just upgraded the shit outta my cars via winnin the easier races and killin baddies in the wasteland...i also pre-ordered and got the rat rod which is kick ass and i havent had too much trouble with the races on nightmare
  • pop rockets = easy nightmare
  • i found hard to be easy but a massive jump in difficulty after :/
  • No, if you change difficulties it doesn't give you the achievement. Just beat the game on hard after switching to nightmare before the last mission and only got the hard achievement.
  • By the mass amounts of approval, I'd have to agree strongly. I really only use pop rockets... they're incredible. Only one downside, to those of you thinking of jumping right to Nightmare on your first go without experience with pop rockets..... no loot if you blow them to pieces. lol. Might make things more difficult.. Guess I'll find out in a few hours once I finish the game on normal.
  • In my opinion CoD is much more harder on Vet than Gears is on Insane. On topic: This is surprisingly not as hard as you would think. Its not like the old Wolfenstein/DOOM/Quake where you have limited health and everything takes one or two hits to kill you. You can save at any time and you have regenerative health. Very doable for those worried about this. If youve beatin any previous FPS on the hardest difficulty you can get this!
  • I am about half way through, and here is my advice: Pop rockets ftw!
  • Nightmare, Legendary, Super Soldier, if you're playing any game on a lower difficulty, you're doing it wrong. See so many people go "this game sucks, got through it in a day and sold it already" No the game doesn't suck, YOU DO! Anyone can beat a game quickly by playing it on easy and bypassing side missions. I'm having a blast playing it on nightmare, hopefully like most games It'll give me all difficulty achievements when done.
  • and what's this "unlock nightmare mode" malarky? It was available to me right from the start, unlike most iD games where you have to hunt it down or use a console command to unlock.
  • Heres a question... If u start game on easy then change to nightmare at the end and DONT get the achievement, what if u start the game on nightmare then change to easy? Would u still get nightmare achievement?
  • Did anyone else find this laughably easy except the mutant menace side mission where you have to provide sniper cover.T 'was a nightmare!
  • That is a good question The Sting1977
  • @#63 I just beat the game on nightmare and I switched the setting once to try the finger fillet mini-game and forgot to switch it back and did a mission and I did not get the insane achievement which, might go through it again some other time now.
  • Doing Nightmare now, almost done with disc 1. Mutant Menace (sniper cover) was the only real trouble, took me 5 or 6 tries to perfect it. Mutant Bash TV was somewhat of a challenge but I completed it on my second try.
  • Great game, I really enjoyed playing through it. Went for a 100% completion off the bat. It was a little hard in the start, but when you get into it you learn to be careful and patient, and that's really all that's required. A pro tip is to use either your Sniper Rifle or your Pistol loaded with Fat Boys and just go for headshots all the time. It really conserves ammo and is increadibly effective against enemies who take cover. Good luck!
  • This game is nowhere near as torturous as Call of Duty on veteran. It actually is not much harder than Normal. I have died a few more times in my current play through on Nightmare, but I did stupid stuff there. Unfortunately, no Game+ option. You start over, you have to recollect everything all over again. Again, though, on the difficulty, enemies deal more damage, but are not tougher, and don't seem to be more resilient. You will want plenty of bandages though, and will want to use them the moment your screen goes red.
  • ive done this game 3-4 times and so far i have only played the ghost mission on nightmare and that wasnt too bad just gonna make sure i have plenty of bandages and ammo before doing anything its better to have played the game through before hand to see what weapons are best for certain situations
  • Fat Mammas, Pop Rockets and a lot of bandages. You take more damage, but it is possible to complete it. Not the hardest "Hard"-achievement I have tried. Also I found all the desert spores: Having 177 life instead of 100 makes it a lot easier. By the end I just kept spawning Sentry Bots and pummeling the bad guys with the Authority Pulse Gun. Never even touched me.. :)
  • 25G!??? AWWW COME ON!!!
  • This is easy. Only difficult part on Nightmare was "Mutant Menace" (side-mission) but just get used to using wingsticks & the arc of the grenades and it's a piece of cake as well.
  • Also if you haven't figured out the money "glitch" not really a "glitch" but in Subway town you can go to the deal of the day dealer and when he is selling Viper Rockets($66) buy as many as you can then go sell them to Jani($75). Rinse & repeat, you'll never run out of money.
  • I dont see why they give so little for the harcode. nightmare achievements
  • This is a Rage thread, shut the fuck up about COD, take it elsewhere. We have to listen to your insistent whining everywhere.
  • @76 WHY U MAD BRO!?!?!?!!!?!??!?!!?!!!?!?! (insert trollface here!)
  • This was quite easy. You could save everywhere as far as I can remember, and it was actually easy for very hard.
  • I played from the start on Nightmare mode, but did not get ANY achievement in the end. Appeared just "Hey, not too rough," can help me GOD'S SAKE! :'( pls
