Introduction
Welcome to Kinect Sports Gems game. These games are spin off games from the Kinect Sports franchise and are literally here for a bit more fun. The games aren't too hard and shouldn't cause you any trouble in getting the full 100%.

Playthrough
The game is based around one game only and nothing more. To progress through the levels, all you'll need to do is complete the challenges set out before you. Completing a challenge will net you set amount of stars, which then be added to your score.

As you progress through the challenges, new ones will become available and they'll vary in difficulty. Most you'll pass with ease, but some may take a little bit of skill and luck.

Online
If you're struggling with this game or can't be bothered to play it. You can log get another player to join in as you play and let them do all the work or complete some of those challenges you're finding hard to complete.

Where's the fun in that?

Challenges
To progress through the game and unlock the achievements you'll need to complete some challenges. All of the challenges must be completed to reach level 10.

For more information on each challenge, see the guide below.

How-to Tips
Here's a few tips and tactics to use for this game.

  • Bring Some Luck: Why? Because for this game, you needs loads of it. The items that come along the belt are random, but the rhythm and certain set-ups are the same.
  • Bit Of Bad Luck: Some bad luck will come your way in a variety of ways. One will be from items not turning up to others requiring you to hit certain items for one ot pop up on the line as the timer ends. Sadly there's nothing you can do about it but start again.
  • Swing At Green: At the base of your club you'll notice a little block. It's made up of 3 brown blocks with a green one dead in the centre. When swinging to hit the star marker in that water, hit your object as it passes the green section. Sometimes you can go a little off but anymore and the item will fly into the water.
  • Hold Your Swing: It's best to keep your club in the upright position ready to hit an object. Waiting for it to arrive and swinging at the last moment can cause you miss the object you need to hit.
  • Quit While Ahead: This is to go with the session you're in. If you have 3 challenges up and in one game you complete them, quit/lose the game. Completing and carrying on after you've done the challenges nets you nothing. So, unless you're playing for fun, don't carry on and lose. Once you've done that, the challenges will score up and you'll be presented with new ones. This cuts down the playtime by a bit.
  • What Challenges?: Forgotten what challenges you were trying to do? Hold your left hand down in the bottom left corner to bring up the Kinect menu. Here you'll be able to view your current challenges.
  • Time Bonus: Every 3 items you checkout in the game will give you a +5 second time bonus. I recommend you do this a lot when trying to get certain items as it'll give you more time for one to hopefully come along.
  • Be Clever: If a challenge requires you to break everything of one item in one game session, don't hit anything else but that. This means it'll keep your time done and you won't get any unwelcome item combos.
  • Be Clever #2: Like the above, if a challenge wants you to hit 3 of a particular item, hit everything making sure you checkout each one. This will add time bonuses to your counter and that may just help bring that last item your way.
  • Scoring: The scoring is based off a 3 part money system. Trophies: $500 each
    Misc Objects: $100 each
Breakables - Plates, Gnomes etc: -$500 each While playing some challenges, they will require you to do some maths which will involve hitting all three of these types. See the Challenge Guide below for more details.

Conclusion
Overall the game is straight forward 100%. You shouldn't have any issues getting all the achievements, and if you do, just remember to take a break and come back to it later.

See below for a list of challenges and the stars you can earn:

    One Star Challenges

    Checkout 3 items
To checkout and item, you must make sure it hits the gold star out at sea. So with that in mind, hit 3 items, hitting the star with each to complete this challenge.

    Avoid safes in one game
Self explanatory. Simply don't swing and hit any of the gold safes throughout one run.

    Break 3 Teapots - Cumulative
Self explanatory. Teapots are breakable items and are normally surrounding another none-breakable item. Smash 3 to complete this challenge.

Reach a score of $1000 or more
You can do this multiple ways. Checkout 10 $100 items or checkout 2 trophies for $500 each. Once you reach the score the challenge will unlock. You don't not have to end on $1,000.

Hit 3 Fridges in one game
A lot of luck is involved in this. Sometime you don't get any fridges, other time you may get 2. Keep playing the games and make sure you hit and checkout as much as you can to extend you time.

Checkout 3 items in a row for Time Bonus
Self explanatory. Any 3 items will do here. Just make sure they checkout for it to count.

    Hit 2 $500 items in a game
The only item worth $500 is the trophy. So make sure you hit 2 of them as they pass by. They're not rare, so you should have plenty of opportunities.

Hit 4 prizes into the ocean - Cumulative
To hit an item into the ocean you'll need to swing and hit it either a little too early or late. Personally, hitting it a little late is much easier. Remember that this does not have to be done all in one game.

Hit 5 vacation items - Cumulative
No rush on this as again it's across all games you play. Vacation items range from - Deck Chairs, Beach Balls, Barbecues and Ice Cream Cones. Also note, that you do not need to checkout any of these, just simply hit them.

    Smash a Garden Gnome
Another breakable item. You should come across some of these during a game, so make sure you hit one as it passes.

In one game hit a Garden Gnome, a Sports Bag, and a Hand
Luck based again. I recommend you keep hitting and getting checkout on items to extend you time limit. This is so you have a longer line of items and hopefully what you want will come along.

    Checkout 10 items - Cumulative
Self explanatory. Any 10 items across all your games will count.

In one game hit an Ice Cream Cone, a Plate, and a Safe
More luck based challenges. I recommend you keep hitting and getting checkout on items to extend you time limit. This is so you have a longer line of items and hopefully what you want will come along.

In one game hit 5 electronic devices
This one is not cumulative, it has to be done in one game session. Hit everything you see to extend the time limit as much as possible and hope for the best.

The electronic items are - Cameras, Fridges, Remote Helicopters, TV Sets and Robots.

In one game hit 3 Carrots
Is your luck still holding out? Personally, I thought the carrot (toys) are a little more rare than all other items. Stick with it and remember to checkout as many items as possible to extend your time!

In one game checkout a Sports Bag, a Helicopter, and a Beach Ball
This one is not cumulative, it has to be done in one game session. Hit everything you see to extend the time limit as much as possible and hope for the best.

Take note that the sports bag is not the golf clubs. It's the orange looking carrier one.

    Two Star Challenges

    Hit 6 $100 items in a row
All you need to make sure you don't do is hit any trophies or breakables. Everything else is set at the $100 price tag.

Avoid Game DVDs in one game
Self explanatory. Simply left the Kinect Sports game cases (DVDs) pass by when you see one.

Break every Fishbowl that appears in one game
Your best bet here is to not hit anything other than the fish bowls. You don't really want to extend your time just in case a big wave of breakables come along.

    Hit 3 $500 items in a row
Again, skip everything but the trophies. They are the only thing with the $500 price tag. Some are surrounded by 2 breakables side by side. So either skip these or make sure you have an accurate swing.

Destroy all Robots in one game
Luck maybe on your side for this one or it may not. You may only see one robot or you may get 5. Just make sure you hit each one, checkout or not. Note that the robots can not be destroyed, so it's a little bot of a wrong description.

Achieve a final score of exactly $2200
This is where you're going to have to hit a certain set of specific items. First off you'll need to hit any 2 $100 items. This will take you to a total of $200. Now checkout 4 trophies. Each being $500, this will total your money up to $2,200.

You'll have plenty of time to hit all of these items and after you reach the total, simply just stand there and do nothing until the time is up.

Win 3 Time Bonuses in one game
For this, you'll need to checkout 3 consecutive items. Each time you get 3 in a row, you'll get the time bonus. Do this two more times with 3 items each and the challenge will complete.

Hit a Safe into the ocean
Pretty simply. Wait for a safe to come along and make sure you either hit it too early or late to knock it straight into the ocean.

Checkout a total prize fund of $8000 - Cumulative
Remember that this is across all your games, so don't feel you have to do it in one game. If you want it to go fast hit nothing but the trophies as they'll net you $500 a checkout.

Smash every Plate that appears in one game
Plates are breakables and will cost you $500 of you money if you hit them. So don't mix this challenges with any money gaining ones. Plates can be quite common, so look out for them. Just make sure you hit every one before the time ends.

Hit 6 vacation items in one game - Vacation items include Beach Balls, Barbecues, Deck Chairs ,and Ice Cream Cones. Hit at least 6 of these in one game. Checking them out is not necessary.

Achieve a final score of exactly $4400 in one game
Follow the same guide as above for the $2,200 but this time checkout 2 extra $100 items and 4 more trophies. So that's now a total of 4 $100 items and 8 trophies at $500 each bring your total to $4,400.

You'll have plenty of time to hit all of these items and after you reach the total, simply just stand there and do nothing until the time is up.

    Hit 7 $100 items in a row
Ignore everything but the $100 items until this completes. There's plenty of choices, so this should come pretty quickly.

In one game hit a Gold Trophy, a TV Set ,and a Beach Ball
Luck again. Remember that you don't have to get a checkout, just hit them at all costs.

Break a total of 25 things - Cumulative
Only the -$500 items break. So these are the plates, teapots, gnomes etc. So simply break these over the course of your games to complete this challenge.

In one game get a total of 20 bonus seconds
Remember that to get a time bonus you'll need to checkout 3 consecutive items. Each time you do so, you'll be granted +5 seconds to your counter. With that in mind, you'll need need to hit and checkout 3 items in a row 4 times (12 items total) to get +20 seconds added.

    Checkout 30 items - Cumulative
Self explanatory. Just make sure the items you hit, land on the gold star. You should get this over 2/3 games.

Hit every vacation item in one game
Vacation items include - Beach Balls, Barbecues, Deck Chairs, and Ice Cream Cones. Simply keep an eye for all of these and make sure you hit them. Again, they don't need to be checkouts.

    Hit 5 $500 items in a row
This means trophies only. Everything else is either $100 or -$500. The trophies are the only thing worth $500. 5 shouldn't be an issue here as you'll be way more than this during a single game. Remember they have to be in a row but do not need to be checked-out.

    Checkout 45 items - Cumulative.
Self explanatory. As many games as it takes, just make sure you checkout the items.

    Two Star Challenges

Checkout 5 different items in one game
You'll come across more than 5 items during one game, so this shouldn't cause you any issues.

In one game score $4000 or more
Hit and checkout as much as you can, if not everything. This way you'll get the time bonuses and have more time to get those high scoring items like the trophies.

Hit only 10 items for a final score of $500
There's a few ways this can be done and all items count. The only one you don't want to do is having to hit a breakable and then straight after hit a normal item as the scores won't add/cancel correctly in time. Here's how I did it (in this order)

    9 x Breakable Items (Red Tag): -$500 = Total $0
    1 x Trophy: $500 = Total $500

Do this and wait for the game to end to complete the challenge.

Checkout 2 TV Sets and 2 Carrots in one game
More luck based challenges. Like the others, hit and checkout everything that comes your way so you get more time. Hopefully within that the items you need will pop up.

For me, I found these two items to be quite rare, so it may take quite a few games until they all show up.

Avoid Gold Trophies in one game
Really simply. Just play a game but don't hit one trophy.

    Reach a score of $6000
Remember to checkout as much as you can to get the time bonuses. These will help you get to the required score. Your best bet is to make sure you get as many of the trophies as possible because at $500 a go, you'll reach the target a lot faster.

Hit all breakables in one game
Don't hit anything else but the breakables. You do not want the time to be extended on this. The main reason is because on multiple occasions I had a wave of 4 breakables close to each other come at me. Which is personally impossible to smash all of them that fast.

You want this game over as soon as it can, so only swing and smash all the red tagged items.

Get a score of $4000 but don't break anything
Not too hard but be care of the trophies inbetween 2 breakables. Hit everything else, but the trophies will get you to the required score a lot faster.

Hit only 15 items and get a final score of $1200

There's a few ways this can be done and all items count. The only one you don't want to do is having to hit a breakable and then straight after hit a normal item as the scores won't add/cancel correctly in time. Here's two ways to do it.

    2 x Any Green Tag Item: $100 = Total $200
    2 x Trophy: $500 = Total $1200
    11 x Ocean Shots: $0 = Total $1200

    9 x Any Green Tag Item: $100 = Total $900
    2 x Breakable Items (Red Tag): -$500 = Total $0
    2 x Any Green Tag Item: $100 = Total $200
    2 x Trophy: $500 = Total $1200

Do this and wait for the game to end to complete the challenge.

In one game checkout 3 Game DVDs, 2 Gold Trophies ,and 1 Safe
Hopefully these will come along in one game. Remember to checkout as much as you can to extend the time limit. Nothing more you can do than hope they pop up.

Hit 15 prizes into the ocean in one game
Anything with a green tag is a prize. As mentioned in the roadmap and other challenges, you'll want to swing and hit an item a little early or late. I personally found hitting them a little late works a bit better.

Checkout 10 different items in one game
There's more than 10 green tagged items in the game but this does not mean 10 different ones will come often. I recommend you just hit and checkout everything that comes your way. Don't take note of what you have or haven't. Getting the time bonuses also helps.

Win 6 time bonuses in one game
As mentioned in many other challenges above. You need to get 3 checkouts in a row to get a time bonus. This means you'll need to hit 18 total items, making sure each one is a set of 3 to count to reach 6 time bonuses.

Win a total prize fund of S20000 - Cumulative
Simply keep playing games. This one will take a fair few but if you keep playing and getting as many checkouts as you game in a game, you'll get this in no time.

Achieve a final score of exactly $5500 in one game
Luckily this doesn't have a set amount of items to hit. So it's quite simply to achieve. The main item you're going to want to checkout though is the trophy as it'll net you $500 each time.

If you can hit 11 then do so. But you may run out of time. So mix it up with some $100 items to get those time bonuses. Either way, do your maths and hope for the best.
