Introduction:
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is a pretty straightforward game that only has one achievement that will take some time to get after you beat the game. The game is quite linear and the combat is incredibly easy. This game is mostly a collect-a-thon and the guides on the forum will make this an easy task.
There are a total of 30 achievements and they are made up of collecting and acquiring specific character moves which are unlocked automatically throughout the game. The last achievement is 150 and requires you to collect 100 souls. You likely will not pickup 100 souls throughout the story, but you can go back and play levels after you beat them. There are a few levels that make this task much easier.
Step #1: Story
The game consists of 11 levels and early on you will be obtaining achievements for unlocking either one of Jack’s, Elizabeth’s, or Will’s moves. These will come automatically after completion of the level mentioned in the achievement. This guide (thanks to Crimzen Dragon) lists all the collectibles for each level. Each collectible in the game has a thin white outline to make them stand out better, but you will still need to search for them. Some are even hidden in chests. You will have to collect seven of a certain item, find the Calypso piece, and open the Jackanism chest if there is one for that level. Follow this guide closely so you don’t miss anything and won’t have to go back through levels again. It’s recommended to save up three skulls before you get to the chest so you have enough to unlock it without having to worry about another playthrough of that level. Skulls can be acquired by killing enemies with special moves, opening chests, or finding them in the open. Only Jack can use skulls and collect souls with them. After you have the Jackanism chest for that level (if the level has one) use your skulls to collect as many souls you can. This will be a very easy 850 and a pretty quick one too.
There is also a YouTube video playlist showing all the collectibles from NoKtoLive.
Step #2: 100 souls
This will probably be the only semi-difficult part about the game. It’s not even difficult, but just time consuming based on the rest of the game. Hopefully you have about 30-50 souls from your playthrough of the story, if not more. It really doesn’t matter how many you have since you can get as many souls as you want on a couple of levels. The two levels recommended for this are Port Royal and Isla Cruces. Make sure you use Jack when you go for these.
Port Royal has two. The first part is when you are in the tavern and you’re fighting some sailors. After this fight, you will fight some marines. They will be in red coats except for one that’s in a blue coat. Don’t kill the blue coat and use the combo on the enemies to acquire you’re special move. Once the bar at the top has some red in it, perform your special on one of the enemies when prompted (). You will mostly pickup coins, health, and weapons but they will occasionally drop a skull. Go over to the stairs and activate it. Then kill as many red coats as you can. Rinse and repeat.
Port Royal’s second spot for easy souls is at the end when you’re in the big courtyard. Do everything required in this area up until you have to jump at the end to catch your ship. The last thing you will need to do is fire the canons at the top. This will limit the amount of enemies that spawn at one time so you don’t get overwhelmed with having to keep Jack and Will alive. Use the method mentioned above to use your special move and wait until you get a skull. If you activate it on the stairs, you should be able to get 3 souls each time around.
The other level to get this on easily is Isla Cruces. Just like Port Royal, you will have to play through to the end of the level when you’re on the beach fighting. Instead of explain the method, here’s the link to a Gamefaqs walkthrough (Crazyreyn) and it’s the section at the bottom about soul collecting. They do a very good job describing how to make this process easier.
Either level works and both will likely be time consuming depending on how frequently you get skulls.
Conclusion:
Overall, another easy movie game. Everything is pretty straightforward, which is all you wish for in a game. I know the 100 souls has the potential to be time consuming and boring, but even with that, the game won’t take long to get the full 1000. Good luck!
