Show / Hide Guide Roadmap

Overview:
Estimated achievement difficulty: 10/10
Estimated time for 1250 : 40-70 hours
Offline: 70 (1250 )
Online: 0 (0)
Minimum playthroughs: 5
Missable achievements: None!
Glitched achievements: None!

If you are one of the people who desire to get the full 1250 in Ninja Gaiden II, you are in for one sick ride. Ninja Gaiden II is a tough, time-consuming, and nightmarish ride that will redefine the way you see a game as 'hard'. However, I'm going to minimize that fear of difficulty with this handy road map.

Step 1: Playthrough #1-2
When you begin, start on Acolyte difficulty. First, complete the game normally and get every weapon (including the windmill shuriken), Ninpo. and every power up for your Ninpo and Heath Bar (also, the more money you get the better). Then, when you finish the game, save after the credits. Now you have all the weapons and Ninpo. What you have to do is to go through the game using only the Windmill Shuriken, the Bow and Ninpo. Most of the enemies can be killed by the Windmill Shuriken, which is the best way to kill them, but some of them only get killed by Bow (for example the four legged machines), by Ninpos (Bosses) and incendiary shurikens (Genshin while he is performing an attack, Alexei while is doing the tornado attack, and Elizebet while she is near a wall).

Don't forget that using a spirit of the devils not only gives you one more ninpo slot, but also refills all your ninpo. You can also use a Talisman of Rebirth because it restores your ninpo as well. You cannot go further without using any weapon once you reach Chapter 13 where you have to destroy the Eggs with enemies. This is the part were you make eight saves - one for each weapon - and then do the end of the game with them. After defeating Genshin in Chapter 14, you will be stuck with the Blade of the Archfiend. At these point, immediately pause the game and switch to the weapon that you want for its respective achievement.

Well, on your first playthrough, play through naturally using only the Dragon Sword. You'll also want to find every Crystal Skull. Use this guide to find all 30.  For the locations of each weapon and move, read the Achievement Guide below this little Road Map. Next, for the Tests of Valor, follow this guide.  Also, stick with using Obliterations to finish off your foes until you get the "Feat of a Thousand Obliterations" Achievement. After you get that achievement, charge up your
attack to unleash Ultimate Destruction until you get the "Feat of Ultimate Destruction" Achievement.  Every other achievement will come through progression of the story.

Step 2: Playthroughs #3

By this time, the only achievements that you will be missing are DLC achievements, the last three difficulty achievements and also the Obliteration and Ultimate Technique Achievements. Stick with using Obliterations to finish off your foes until you get the "Feat of a Thousand Obliterations" achievement. After you get that achievement, charge up your attack to unleash Ultimate Destruction until you get the "Feat of Ultimate Destruction" achievement. This will be your Warrior difficulty playthrough. By now, Warrior will be easily conquered, but I warn you that the worst is about to come.

Step 3: Playthrough # 4

Now, things are starting to get tough. On Mentor, you will start out fighting rocket ninjas. They aren't friendly. I would say that only Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 are hard. Mostly, because of the evil Rasetsu (Giant spider boss) and his entourage of incendiary shuriken ninja. However, practice makes perfect. Use the Lunar Staff, upgrade it, and progress slowly. Don't run into groups of enemies mindlessly. Slowly progress to face fewer enemies.

Step 4: Playthrough # 5
If you've made it this far, give yourself a pat on the back and start praying. This is the final achievement playthrough. You will need tons of patience and prayer to make it out alive. First of all, there is a neat trick called 'farming', and you will need it to survive. Here is the link that shows what I am talking about.

On Master Ninja, you will face incendiary shuriken ninja on almost every stage. They throw incendiary shurikens which blow up after they hit you. The Lunar Staff and Eclipse Scythe are the cheapest weapons to use against these foes. Some people say that farming is a good way to make the game easier, but personally, I just farmed until i got my Lunar Staff to Level 2 and got tired. Also, if you are finding some parts difficult, try running from your enemies, saving and going back to the Main Menu since the enemies will disappear and the game counts as if they had already spawned.

Step 5: Mission Mode Achievements
Ah, the infamous 250 Gamer points in Ninja Gaiden II. Even if you were able to complete the game on Master Ninja, Mission Mode is still amazingly difficult. You need to complete each Karma mission four times, and there are 16 Karma missions. Why? The developers thought it would be fun to make players play the same stage on Acolyte, Warrior, Mentor, and Master Ninja. This forum has a lot of neat tips that experts pass around.

That's about it though. There are no solid gold ways of completing Mission Mode's insanity. You'll need prayers, patience, and luck to survive Mission Mode. Make use of the Eclipse Scythe, and if you fail a mission, quit and retry. If you hit 'retry' after you die, other gamers have noticed that the mission becomes even more difficult.

x360a would like to thank Axe Argonian and Gilberto for this Road Map

Defeat Alexei in battle.
Chapter 4: You can counter his attacks fairly easily, if the counter fails dash to his side. He grabs a lot, so if you feel a grab coming dash/jump directly away from him. When he starts spinning, dash/jump perpendicular him, then wait a second and do it again. He will usually repeat his spinning move 2 or 3 times.
Vanquished Volf15
Defeat Volf in battle.
Chapter 6: Right away Dash/Jump to the side, a lot of times he opens with a Scythe UT. Other than that this should be pretty easy. His attacks are slow and most of them can be blocked, try not to get grabbed and you shouldn't have a problem. Try to conserve health because you have to kill about 20 Werewolf fiends right after this fight.
Vanquished Zedonius15
Defeat Zedonius in battle.
Chapter 8: Get up close and start combo-ing out. When he's about to attack dash behind him and continue. He doesn't grab too often so don't worry about it so much. You can try to counter his attacks, but if it fails get out of the way because he can really hurt you.
Vanquished Elizébet15
Defeat Elizébet in battle.
Chapter 10: Don't rush into her, let her come to you. Don't try to counter her attacks; it won't work, instead dash twice to get behind her full combo. It should miss, giving you the opportunity to hit her. If you don't knock her off-balance right away, get away from her. Be mindful of her dash attack, be sure to block it, it will hurt a lot and knock you off-balance to set you up for a grab.
Vanquished Genshin15
Defeat Genshin in battle.
Chapter 11: This time it's 1 on 1. Be mindful of his attacks, counter and dodge. No different than the previous encounters.

Indomitable Spirit5
Chose to continue the game 100 times.

Simple enough, every time you do choose the option continue and eventually you should get the achievement.

Sadly enough you probably won't have to go out of your way for this one, unless you're a Ninja master you should be dying a lot.

Also, don't forget to check the >>super guide<< in the forums for more help.

For these two achievements, just complete the required number of missions on any difficulty. Importantly, you must complete four or eight different missions. You cannot simply beat one or two missions on four different difficulty levels to unlock these achievements.

Master Ninja of Missions20

These achievements all require you to beat all of the Karma Attack Missions (missions 1 through 16) on each difficulty level. The difficulties do not stack. You'll have to beat every mission a total of four times. Once you complete one mission you are able to choose the next difficulty for that mission.

Now I’ll tell you some tips one each mission (note that this as the way I found it easier but each of us as different ways of playing and may find other ways easier):

Mission 1 – You just need to kill twenty ninjas. Try to kill the enemies from upstairs first and then take out the lower level ones.

Mission 2 – There is one worm and seven ninjas. Try to take out the monster first and then the ninjas.

Mission 3 – There are two waves. First, try to take out the rocket launcher ninjas and then the others. After that, a chest will appear with Karma Burst and your Health will be restored up to the red damage. Now a Godomus will spawn with some more Ninja. Don’t worry about the Ninja, they are not a threat here, try going under his feet and land a combo each time he ends an attack. The Eclipse Scythe combo worked really well for me.

Mission 4 – This battle is insane. You need to defeat Alexei with minions surrounding him. Equip the Eclipse Scythe and keep spamming him with the jumping combo. Its very effective against him and is a very good way of escaping the minions. The wind blades Ninpo is very useful because it kills most of the minions and they don’t bother you until they respawn. His grapple moves are very dangerous, so you want to be off of the ground for most of your time in this mission. Also beware of his “Tornado” attack - you need to do wait until the very last moment before dodging.

Mission 5 – Beware of Volf's running attack and spam him with the Eclipse Scythe jumping combo and ignore the Wolf Minions to focus on him.

Mission 6 - This one can be tricky. You have Zedonius as an enemy, so do the Eclipse Scythe jumping combo. Just keep dodging his attacks and at the end of each one, if you see an opening attack him, but you will need to be careful when he starts flying because when he finishes, he does an attack which is very difficult to dodge and takes most of your health.

Mission 7 – This time you will be facing Elizébet with some archers and incendiary shuriken ninjas. You will need to learn the timing for dodging her quick attacks then attack her with the same combo from before. Beware of her grapple attack, since it takes a lot of damage. Also, when she does that healing technique try to hit her as soon as possible because she will fall and stay in the ground for some time without moving.

Mission 8 – You will be facing Genshin with some rocket ninjas, and, if that wasn’t enough, you have no healing items. What you need to do is learn how to dodge every move he does and hit him at the end of them. Personally, I used the Eclipse Scythe combo, but before doing it I always pressed to see if I was able to hit him(and for a little extra damage) because you need to wait some time before you can damage him again from combo to combo, you can only take about 1/6 of his Health per combo and you will have to wait at least ten seconds to do the next one.

The fire Ninpo is very good here because it kills the rocket ninjas and it gives you some time alone with Genshin, and if you are lucky enough, the ninjas will drop Ninpo or healing orbs. You really need to watch out for his “Izuna Drop” grapple move because it kills you even if you have full energy. If he does that attack where he punches the ground, it takes almost all of your energy, so just restart the mission if this happens.

Mission 9 – Now here comes the annoying part of the mission mode. From now on you will have some missions that take a really long time to finish. There are five waves of enemies. The first wave has a bunch of ninjas and there isn’t a specific way of doing this, but I recommend the Eclipse Scythe combo. The second wave is Genshin, do the same thing as Mission 8, but without worrying about the rocket ninjas. The third wave has some fiends and I highly recommend you to go around the coliseum in circles while throwing incendiary shurikens at the monsters chasing you, than just finish the remaining spider women with some full charge Bow Ultimate Technique.

Now, for the forth wave you will need to go right from the chest (looking from where the chest is to the center of the coliseum) and charge a full Eclipse Scythe Ultimate Technique and hit the robot with it as soon as he spawns followed by an Obliteration Technique. Then, for the other fiends, do the Scythe jumping combo until some piece of their body falls and finish them with an Obliteration. The enemies in this wave spawn three times so, upgrade your Void Ninpo to level 3 and kill the two robots with it (try going behind the robot to do the Ninpo so you can kill other enemies as well). As for the rest of the fiends, do the same thing as before.

Now, the fifth wave is the Skeleton Boss. Start with a full charge Scythe Ultimate technique on one of the Red Gajas, followed by an Obliteration and then kill the other one. Now just keep spamming the boss with full charged Bow Ultimate Technique until two more Gajas appear, then kill them and repeat the process two more times (the Gajas only spawn three more times after killing the first set). When you run out of arrows, just do the full charge Scythe Ultimate Technique because it has a large range. This last wave may take a while, but this is the safest way of doing it.

Mission 10 –
First you have to kill some Archer Ninjas while going up the “Castle” - you can get past them but they can hit you with arrows so you should kill them. Try using one incendiary shuriken and then the jumping Scythe combo. You will battle some more ninjas and this time you need to kill the ninjas in order to get past them because there is a fiend wall blocking the way. For this battle do the Scythe combo on the Warlock Ninjas (the ones that throw fire balls at you) first and then the others.

After every round, you have a chest, don’t forget to pick every of them. Again, you will be going up the “Castle”, but this time you have Explosive Archers, to kill them instantly, equip the Falcons Talons, jump and press + (direction towards the enemy) then press and you will do an Izuna Drop. Now you will have to face Red Gajas and Yellow van Gelfs, the Scythe combo works really well here, but, if you find yourself in trouble, try using the Art of The Piercing Void and hitting two Yellow Van Gelfs to instantly kill them.

Running up again you will find Spriggans, just ignore them. Now, a Mini-Boss, 2 Rasetsus, this one is very easy, use the Tonfa Ultimate Technique over and over again while dodging their attacks. After defeating these you will find yourself running up the “Castle” while being pursued by Yellow Van Gelfs and ignore them once again. You will face some Ninjas and 2 Worms, again use the Scythe combo on the Warlock Ninjas and then take care of the rest. Now, you have to go up again while getting past some Fiend Dogs, after that you will be facing Dagra Dai.

For this Boss, you will have to do different techniques for each of his moves. He will start the battle by going up and summoning some fiends, while he is going up, do the Scythe combo on him. If he does the lightning technique trying dodging it, if you see you cannot use the fire Ninpo (it is important that you try leaving one fiend alive so that Dagra Dai comes down), if he does the other technique where black thing come from the ground try avoiding this as well and watch out for the end of it because he launches a beam at you which takes most of your Health. If he comes down, there is two thing that he does, he either throws lighting at you or he attacks you physically, if he does the lighting attack, do the Eclipse Scythe combo on him to escape the lightning and to deal a great amount of damage. If he attacks you physically, block and dodge his attacks until he finishes the combo and attack him with the Scythe combo. This should be enough to do this mission.

Mission 11 – This one starts with 2 Rasetsus and some Dragons. First, use the 360º Lunar Staff Ultimate Technique to take out the Rasetsus and then use some arrows to take out the rest. For the second wave, start with a Scythe Ultimate Technique and then an Obliteration. The enemy will leave an Orb, so use it to quickly charge the Tonfa Ultimate Technique and keep doing it until there no one left. For the third wave you’ll face some Robots. Use the Scythe Combo to easily take them out. For the next fight you have two Quetzacoatls and five Pill Bugs. Don’t worry about the bugs - you can deal a great amount of damage by throwing an Art of The Piercing Void at them. You have three Ninpo so you can kill one and leave the other dying, then throw some arrows at him.

Mission 12 – For this Mission use the same strategy you used for the other battles with the same enemies except for Volf and Zedonius. With Volf you can spam the Front + , combo and if you do it right he doesn’t even move. When facing Zedonius, while watching out for his moves wait for him to try to grapple you and dodge since it is very easy, then do the Eclipse Scythe combo.

Mission 13 – Well, this mission has no specific strategy, but the Eclipse Scythe combo on Ninjas and the Lunar Staff Jumping Izuna Drop on the Gajas work very well. Try doing some Wind Ninpo on the round where five Ninja Warlocks spawn because they are all killed, and, if possible, on the last round with Fiend Incendiary Ninjas because they are also killed with just one Ninpo.

Mission 14 – Start by killing every enemy with the Eclipse Scythe combo until the Gajas spawn. From the Gajas round you will be using the Tonfa, before each round starts charge the Ultimate Technique and kill one enemy then use the it’s orb to charge another Ultimate Technique (Note that if you jump and press as soon as you land you will absorb every orb and charge your Ultimate Technique instantly), when Rocket Ninjas spawn, hit them with incendiary shuriken so that they lose a arm because they always interfere on you battles with the Red Gajas.

Do this until the Fiend Dogs spawn, for this battle, use the Lunar Staff 360º Technique, and every time possible, charge it. Now, for the last round, use every Void Ninpo you have on the Red Dragons (try hitting other enemies as well) and spam the Eclipse Scythe combo on the other enemies except for the Black Widows, for this ones try using fully charged Scythe Ultimate Techniques because it is dangerous to do close ranged attacks.

Mission 15 – Just grab the Scythe, start with two Art of The Piercing Void or Art of The Inferno and then spam the Jumping combo.

Mission 16 – For this one, start by attacking Elizébet first with the Falcon’s Talons, keep doing the jumping Front + combo on her, and if she does the Health Draining Attack, get near her, use an Art of The Fire Art and she stops doing it most of the times. Then, with Genshin use the same strategy as you did before.

All Silver30
Obtained all Silver Medallions in the Survival Missions

See “All Gold”

All Gold30
Obtained all Gold Medallions in the Survival Missions

In order to get this achievement you need to get gold medallions on all of the survival missions - missions seventeen through twenty-four on Mission Mode.

You are awarded a medal for each 500,000 Karma, so that goes for:
- 500,000 – Iron Medallion
- 1,000,000 – Bronze Medallion
- 1,500,000 – Silver Medallion
- 2,000,000 – Gold Medallion

There are infinite enemies one this missions so the most important thing here is to get Karma Burst Multiplier (note that if you kill the enemies with Obliteration Techniques they won’t give you either multiplier or Ninpo and energy orbs) as soon as possible. Then, just kill the enemies with Obliteration Techniques and Ultimate Techniques because they give you a large amount of Karma, but if you see you Karma Burst Multiplier becoming orange, try killing the enemies with normal attacks again to recover the Multiplier. Some Weapon Ultimate Techniques only deal damage to one enemy or two (for example Vigoorian Flail), so I advise you to use the Windmill Shuriken Ultimate Technique in order to gain large amounts of points and to kill lots of enemies in little time so that you take full advantage of your multiplier.
