Shoot it!

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Record 25 shots in 1 period of play on Superstar Mode

Change the game settings to Superstar difficulty, set the periods to 10 minutes, then every time you cross the blue line, fire a puck in. The shot only counts if it hits the goalie or the post, anything wide or high will not count so try to be accurate.

Penalty Kill special

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Score a goal when 2 men down on Pro Mode.

Start up a game with a difficulty setting of Pro using any team vs the Tampa Bay Lightning (they have the worst starting goalie, statistically). Once the game starts slash 2 people quickly to draw 2 quick penalties, then once you are on the Penalty Kill, try to score using whatever methods you are most comfortable with. Longer periods = longer penalty kills so if you are having trouble, increase the length of the periods.

Last Minute of play

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Score a goal in the last minute of play on Superstar Mode

Start up a game with the difficulty set to Superstar, then pick any 2 teams you want and play through the game. Once the 3rd period rolls around, wait until the last minute of regulation, then try to score. Keeping the score 1-0 or 2-0 and giving them the puck in your end with 1:30 left in the game will most likely have a result of them pulling their goalie, giving you an empty net.

AHL® upset

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Beat an NHL® team with an AHL® team on Superstar Mode

Start a game with a difficulty of Superstar, then select your team from any of the AHL teams (Hershey and Syracuse are 2 of the top teams), then choose your opponent as any NHL team you think you can beat. Keep the periods short to increase your chances of winning small, or make them longer if you cannot score on them and need more time.

Elite League upset

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Beat an NHL® team with an Elite League team on Superstar Mode

Set up a game with a difficulty of Superstar, then select your team from any of the "Elitserien" teams (Linkoping HC and Modo are 2 of the top teams), then choose your opponent as any NHL team you tihnk you can beat. Same with the AHL upset, where you try to win by keeping the periods shorter if you can score and want to hold them off, or longer if you ned more time to score.

Penalty Shot Hero

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Score a goal on the penalty shot in Pro Mode

Set up a game with a difficulty of Pro, then try to get a breakaway and get hauled down on it to create a penalty shot. then you must score on the shot. To be considered a penalty shot, you must have a breakaway where you are past their last defender and you should be at least further in the zone than the top of the circles. 2 controllers work for this, so have your friend slash you after you wind up for slapshot. Then have your friend move out of the goal, easy goal for you.

Stay out of the box

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Play an entire game in Superstar Mode without getting a penalty

Set up a game on Superstar difficulty, then change the time to 5 minutes (the shortest you can) and once you get the puck, just sit behind your net so until the chase you down. OR you can just ice the puck every time you touch it. This will take longer but will almost guarantee you no penalties.

He Shoots, He Scores

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Score a goal with the Goalie on Superstar Mode

Start a game on Superstar difficulty with any teams you want. Get the puck with your goalie, then pass it to the other team. Now with your second controller, pull the your goalie and skate the puck down the ice to your net. When you are directly in line with the net, tap the RB button to lob pass the puck into the net. Since the goalie from Controller 1's team was the last to touch the puck, it is a goal scored by the goalie, achievement unlocked!

Players of the game

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Earn all 3 stars in Superstar Mode

Start a game on Superstar difficulty, then play all the way through trying to score as much as possible, getting as many assists as possible, and a shutout. Then your goalie should get a star for a shutout and the 2 other players should get stars for their points. OR just sit behind your net again and take a few shots during the game. This method works but may take a few tries.

Create a Team

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile use a Created Team in a Play Now game

Go to My NHL 08, then Creation zone and then create a player ( or team), then choose either player or goalie. Customize your player, then once you are done put him on any team of your choice. Then go to Play Now and choose the team he is on, or choose the team you created. Play a game on any difficulty to unlock this achievement.

Goalie's nightmare

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Score 70 Goals with one player in Dynasty Mode

Start a dynasty on any difficulty with any team you want, then just turn line changes off so your favorite player is out there 100% of the time. Then score 70 goals throughout the season. OR simulate the first month. After the first month, look at your stats to see who is in front on your team with the most goals scored. Then us the Win/Save method only simulate each game individually. If your player scores, save the game and move to the next one. If he does not, then exit the dynasty and load it back up. Keep in mind that there are 82 games and you only need 70 goals, so you can have 12 games where he doesn't score at all. This is fairly simple but if you are struggling try Sydney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins or Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals.

On a roll

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Win 5 games in a row in the Playoffs in Dynasty Mode

Again in your dynasty, make it to the playoffs then win 5 games in a row. Play them out to ensure you win 5 straight, or use the win/save method to get to 5 straight wins.

Regular Season best

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile have your Team finish the regular season with the best overall record

This achievement is for winning the President's Trophy (finishing the season with the most amount of points/best record if there's a tie). Simulate a dynasty or play through one on any difficulty, and make sure you win most of your games to amass the most amount of pts. You should shoot for 115 points per season ( 2 pts for a win, 1 for overtime loss, 0 for regulation loss). Using the Win/Save method works well here too.

Tournament Champs

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Win the EA Sports World Tournament

Go to Game Modes, EA Sports World Tournament, then choose any settings you want for difficulty and time, etc. Either simulate through it using the win/save method, or just play through the tournament and win it to unlock this achievement.

Fun for all

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Be on the winning team in an Online Team Play game

Go to xbox live, select quick ranked team game, and win the game. OR go to the lobby for team games with a few friends, challenge each other 2 v 2, then trade off wins.

Playing as a team

As NHL® 08 Lead Profile win an Online Ranked VS. Game with a friend on the same Xbox 360 console

Sign in a friend on your Xbox, then play a quick ranked match and try to win. OR sign in a second controller on your Xbox, then meet a friend in any lobby, challenge him, and then have him quit after the first few minutes to give you the win, then vice versa.

OT Winner

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Win an Online Ranked Versus Game in Overtime

Play a quick ranked match, keep it tied through regulation, then win during the Overtime period, before the shootout. Having a friend help you makes this much easier.

Shootout Mastery

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Win an Online Ranked Versus Game in Shootout Overtime

Again play a quick ranked match and keep it tied through regulation, but this time keep it tied through overtime as well. Once it's in the shootout, just win. Having a friend helps too. Have him move out of the goal to let you score, then have him skate behind the goal line to end his shooting chance.

Shorthanded, No Problem

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Score a Shorthanded Goal in an Online Ranked Versus Game

In a ranked match, slash someone to go on the Penalty kill. Once on the penalty kill, try to score. Having a friend helps with this too. Just make sure to score when you are on the Penalty Kill, NOT the Power Play.

Seeing lots of rubber

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Record 40 shots or more on goal in an Online Ranked Versus Game

This is fairly straight forward. Play a ranked match online and get 40 shots on net. Every time you cross the Blue line, fire the puck on net keeping in mind that missing high and wide does not count. You have all 3 periods to get 40 shots so that is 13 shots per period. Having a friend help also works. Just get your 40 shots really quick, then let him get his.

Shutting the door

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Record a shutout in an Online Ranked Versus Game

Again in a ranked match, keep the opposing team from scoring. You will get this eventually if you play religiously, or you can meet a friend in a lobby, then once the puck drops, one of you stand there in place and let the periods run out. This way will unlock the achievement for both of you.

Shootout King

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Play 25 Online Ranked Shootout Games

Go to Xbox live, then select quick ranked shootout. Play this 25 times quickly to unlock this achievement. It does not matter if you win or lose, just that you finish the shootout.

Online all the time

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Play 50 Online Ranked Versus Games

Again in ranked versus play, just play 50 times to unlock this achievement. Playing the game religiously will unlock this, or you can meet a friend in a lobby, then alternate quitting every other game until you hit 50 played. This does not matter if you win or lose.

Beating tough competition

As the lead NHL® 08 Profile Beat an opponent ranked Online in the Top 50

This is another ludicrous achievement thanks to EA Sports. Unless you owned this game right off the bat, or you are amazing at life, you will struggle with this achievement. The only way to get this is to beat an opponent ranked in the Top 50 on the EA NHL 08 leaderboards. You can invite someone to play a ranked game by selecting their name from the leaderboards and sending an invite. If you are lucky enough to find someone in the Top 50, see if they would be willing to throw a game to help you out. Other than that, this may be another lost achievement as most people will be unwilling to give up their Top 50 status.

EDIT: All achievements can be done with a second controller and with sliders and rules adjustments.
