Introduction
Need for Speed: ProStreet is your run of the mill racing game but it differs from the previous Need for Speed games. You no longer test your driving skills in illicit street races, you've now taken to the professional circuit to pit your driving skills against the best. I have given this game a 6/10 because it is not very difficult but the car handling takes a while to get used to and the showdown kings and Ryo's record's may cause you a bit of trouble. There is one known glitch but it works in your favour and makes obtaining the best cars really easy. (See Step 1).

Step 1 – Preparing to Play (Cheats + 'Best' Cars)
To enter cheats go to the career menu and go to 'Code Entry', each cheat can only be used once and for the cheats to not disable achievements you must clear your Xbox's cache and keep the game free from updates until Step 3. I have only told you the cheats that will help you a lot, however there are tons of them which are pretty much useless.
•unlockallthings – Unlocks all of the cars
•cashmoney – Gives you $10,000 in career mode
•reggame – Gives you $10,000 in career mode and a few useless cars (Best to sell the cars)
•safetynet – Get five free repair markers

There is a method using cheats where you can gain around $90,000 in 3-5 minutes. To do this enter the 'unlockallthings' cheat in the code entry menu at the career mode menu. Once it has been accepted go all the way back to the main menu (Don't worry, the game will autosave). Then go back into career mode and then visit your garage, you will now have four extra cars. These being the Nissan 240 SX, Pontiac GTO, Cobalt SS and Dodge Viper SRT 10. Sell all of these to gain $90,000. Then back out of the garage and when the game has finished autosaving turn off your Xbox and repeat the process as many times as you need to.

There is always a load of arguments as to which car is best for each event but i'm going to tell you what I used and the career mode has been terribly easy so far and i'm very bad at racing games. It is best to buy the best possible parts for your car as soon as possible.
Drift Car – BMW Z4 M Coupe
Drag Car – Ford Shelby GT500
Speed Car - Dodge Viper SRT 10 (See above for easy method to obtain. Do not upgrade this car!)
Grip Car – Nissan Skyline

Step 2 – Race Day Domination's + Ryo's Records + Showdown Kings
This is the part where you will actually start playing the game, make sure you have followed Step 1 and have all the recommended cars and a good amount of cash available. Each race day you play you will need to dominate, this is where you gain a certain amounts of overall points through all of the races. Dominating every race day will net you the 'Domination' and 'Career Domination' achievements. For dominating the race days you will receive random rewards, cash rewards and sometimes new cars.

In total there are 10 'Ryo's Record' achievements and they are gained when you play a specific race where Ryo Watanabe holds the track record. You will come across these whilst going for the 'Career Domination' achievement and with the cars that you have you should have no problem thrashing Mr. Watanabe's track records.

For each type of race (Drag, Drift, Speed and Grip) there is a master of that particular class. If you are dominating the race days as you go through them you should unlock the 'Grip Master', 'Drag Master', 'Drift Master' and 'Speed Master' achievements after 4-7 race days. These achievements should unlock at approximately the same time and once they have popped up then you have the ability to challenge the masters. On your way to the 'Career Domination' achievement you will eventually have to challenge the masters, when you beat them you will win their car, a hefty cash reward and a wonderful achievement, depending on which master you beat. The final master is Ryo Watanabe (again) and beating him in a few races will net you the 'Showdown King'

Step 3 – Miscellaneous Achievements + Sharing Blueprints/Racedays
There are a couple of achievements in this game that you may have picked up without really trying but then there will be some which you have to pick up later in the game as it is much easier. These achievements range from upgrading a tier 1 car to a tier 3 car to using manual transmission in non-drag events. You can change the transmission type on your cars in the race day options to either automatic, manual and manual clutch. In the game the clutch is controlled with and to shift gear hit up or down on respectively.

The 'Keep on Wheelin'' achievement can be a little tricky as you need a car with over 700 bhp and you need to fiddle with the car mechanics and this is quite difficult if you don't have a good knowledge of underneath a car bonnet. This is easier later in the game but the achievement guide will clear up this achievement for you and make it a piece of cake.

Sharing...Everyone loves to share things right? Good. When you upgrade/customise your car you have to save all of it's settings on a single blueprint, this is what you need to share with your friends. You will need to send a friend a blueprint and have them accept for it to count towards the achievement. However, there is some silver lining as you can just repeatedly send the same blueprint to the same friend over and over again. Sharing Racedays is also in the same vein and if you are having any trouble then see the 'Blueprint Master' and 'Race Day Organizer' achievements in the achievement guide. It is probably a slim chance that any of your friends still have this game so it's best to visit the achievement trading thread HERE.

Step 4 – Online Multiplayer
For the final step there is a mixed bag of achievements, some really easy and some which can be quite difficult. You will need to complete in an 8 player race to get the '8 Player Race' achievement and you will also need to beat an EA Mod in a race for the 'EA Moderator' achievement. The achievement guide has the names of a few EA Moderators which are willing to help and it would be best to go to the achievement trading thread HERE to find seven other players to net a few achievements.

You will also need to get a person who is in the top 100 on the leaderboards to use one of your blueprints, there is little to no chance that they will use it without you asking so it would be best to send them a message asking them to help you out.

Conclusion
Overall it is not a very difficult game, it becomes even easier when you use the cheats. There a few bits where you may need to practice the race track to hone your skills. No achievements are missable but two are unobtainable as EA no longer sets up community race days, making 970 the total amount of gamerscore available in this game. You can replay each race and race day an unlimited amount of times so all of the achievements are available at any time. The games servers are still up and they don't have a closure date, but the game has been out for over 2 years now so i wouldn't wait around too long to net them
