Does this mean what I think it does? How many cars would be in a game like this X how many races? Yeesh!

Wow horrible achievement. Was going to get this but I might not now unless there are only a few races.

I'll hold onto the very small hope that this is just worded poorly and you just need to win every race and win with every car.... Not win with every car in every race... Because if that is the case I will be disappointed if there are like 100 races and 200 cars. But at the same time will be disappointed if the game has 3 cars with only 2 races, lol. I want lots of content but I don't want to be forced to play it to death if I want the full 1000. After Gears 3 and Inversion I'm about done with long grinds.

As I always say, a game is much better if it has lots of content and the achievements on require you to play everything 1 time, even if its 100+hours. Much better than playing 2 hours of content 30 times. Yeah 30x2 is shorter but 100 hours of all different stuff is way more fun.

Sadly I am almost positive it means to place first in race A with car A and B and the same for race B with car A and B and so on...

I hope by races they only mean races, because they are only a fraction of all the different challanges. But still, the number of cars worry me. Is it just the normal ones or every Most Wanted car? Jesus, this game will take a lot time to complete. At least the MP achievements are easy.

This just became the worst achievement in any racing game ever.

Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 12:33:23 AM

Consider this... there are usually a few tiers of cars in games like NFS and this means that playing a race meant meant for top speed cars with a bottom line car is usually impossible. I don't think they really expect you to beat the Porsche with a Yaris, meaning that the achievement is probably only poorly worded as #3 suggested.

Around 80-90 Races @ what 40-50 cars? maybe more. 450 Races? Criterion wouldn't ever make you do that, I'm pretty sure it's worded wrong. Maybe more like "Finish first in every race, with every car".

@8 Try 4000 races with 80 races and 50 cars. If each race takes an average of 10 minutes, factoring in loading times, varying track lengths, and losses, that'll take 40,000 minutes or around 670 hours.

If so, this is absolutely insane. This is comparable to Seriously 3.0, only this commands your attention the whole time.

Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 01:38:19 AM

Like #7 said. Maybe in each race you can only use specific cars - say 10 cars to pick from for race A, 10 for race B. Either way, it'll still be the worst one to get

It wouldn't make sense to not be able to use any car in any race. Their whole "thing" with this game is that you can just drive around and complete challenges and have fun. I expect only the races where you beat the Most Wanted are locked at a certain speed, otherwise the cars you race against just match your own.

So hopefully - "Finished first in every race. AND Finished first in every car in any race."

Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 05:15:45 AM

I kinda like @5 answer. There are some challenges so do we know how many races there are? Either way I hope it's like just having every car winning first place and then just first place every race. Like NFSHP just get a gold in all the races but you didn't have to use every car for each race because I don't want the situation as @7 suggested, but imagine a crown Victoria vs that Bugatti :/

This is most likely ''Finish first in every race, finish first in every car''! even if its not - doesnt sound that hard

Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 09:15:58 AM

@17 - You just rephrased what it already states?

I believe there are only (yeah.. only) 19 cars (according to the NFS website). That doesn't include the 10 Most Wanted cars though. So if theres 100 races, that 2900 races in 1st place. This just cant be what we are all thinking it is. Thats to much. This is worse than that achieve in Midnight Club, "True Dedication."

Something else came to mind... it says "races." There are usually like 5-7 different kinds of events and 1 of those are actually "races." Others are smash the cops, beat your rival, etc etc. So if theres 100 events, maybe 30 at the most are "races." At 29 cars, if thats all there is, I doubt it, and only 30 "races," thats only 570 wins..lol.

God help us!

@18 No he didn't just rephrase it, if you would read carefully you would recognize this, but you were distracted by your affection of hating without reason.

@all So many posts and none of you figured it out yet? Gets me a little thinking of "more cheevos = less inte..." ah forget it.

Let me try this: "Finished first in every race, in every car", so lets break this up in a two part achievement ->
"Finish first in every race and finish first in every car".

Still nobody has a clue what the developer wants you to do? If not, stop gaming, start learning.

@20 I used my brain and common knowledge about how to use a comma to get to the solution completely on my own, no need for evidence if something is this obvious.

And I still laughing my arse off about your lube joke, that's a good one I've not heard before (probably because English is not my main language), good job!

We'll see what the achievement is when the game actually releases. Stop arguing. There's no way to really know.

But Jesus Christ if it's actually every race with every car I'll be happy with 920.

I really doubt it's that though because there is an achievement just for having all Most Wanted cars that is 100g

@21 - As you are so convinced that you are more intelligent than everyone else, let's discuss;

"Finish first in every race, in every car" can mean a few things;

Finish in first place in every race, and finish in first place in every car - This could mean that you have to play every race in each car, and finish first. That would be a lot of races, as you would have to repeat the same race multiple times for each car.

However, it could mean that you have to finish every race in first place, while getting first place in each car on any race(s). This would make it two separate entities, making the achievement easier, as you could go back to the easiest race in each car and win it, but you would still have to win every other race in first in any car.

If the achievement description h

Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 12:43:51 PM

If the achievement description has been typed incorrectly, it could also mean this;

Finish in first place in every race/in every car - This would mean you have to either finish every race in first, regardless of the car used, or, alternatively, finish first in every car, regardless of the race won.

When there are multiple definitions of the achievement from sloppy wording, you haven't got a right to insult the intelligence of everyone if they have come to a different conclusion than you.

Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 02:58:41 PM

There are not multiple definitions of this if you read the sentence correctly with the placement of the comma and even if there were, common sense should prevent you from picking the wrong definition. But I guess the love for hate is overshadowing all other things.

Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 03:09:13 PM

"The love for hate" means nothing. Stop pretending that you're above us all. I'm not an idiot when it comes to English, and the comma used in this case can cause confusion. They have tried to shorten the description, but complicated the sentence in doing so. Common sense tells me that Criterion could very well have messed up the wording of it. Common sense should tell you to get off your high horse.

Dan Webb kind of clarifies this in his preview: Each car has it's own set of events to win.
"Instead of having a set of events that you can race in using one of a number of cars, each car has their own set of events. So, if you, like us, were to have a blast with the Lamborghini Gallardo and loved driving it, once you’d completed all the events and got all the upgrades, there was nothing left for you to do but get in another car."

AKA That moany guy was wrong.

43 cars x 5 races each. So you must achieve first place in 215 races. Some of the races are duplicate routes, but all 43 cars have 5 races.

Will clear it up for everyone. Every car you can drive has around 5-7 races. Not sure how many cars the game has. Every spot car you go into will give you specific missions for that vehicle.

31 comments of useless retarded speculation, now here forever in the way of anything helpful. Why don't you dipshits just get a diary, or a friend, or maybe post your pre-release speculation in the forum, instead of on these pages. Is it cause if once the game comes out and you're right, you get to feel cool and get a little baby boner? Just saying... it's real annoying, and now your infantile bantering is forever in the way of useful information. This page should be trimmed to one entry, #32. Thank you for not being a moron.

#32 isn't quite correct actually. There are 61 different 'events' (there is a counter in the driver details for this). Whilst it is correct that each car has the option of 5 events, there is some over lap. You only need to place 1st in each of the 61 events. The only way I have found that you can tell if you have completed the event in a different car already is to check for a 'personal best'. If you haven't done it yet, it says 'SET TIME' instead (you also can't jump directly the event, you have to drive there).

I just got this achievement about two days ago. Here's the good news, guys. You do NOT have to finish EVERY race for EVERY single vehicle. There are a total of 61 races. Some vehicles have the same events as other vehicles. You just have to get first in each of the 61 total events. The only real way to tell if you've done that specific event or not is this: When you access your side menu and look at your five events for whatever vehicle you're in, scroll through those events. If it says "Set Time" for that specific event, it means that you have not competed in that event yet. THAT being said, make sure you've placed FIRST in that event (against the A.I. vehicles, not your FRIENDS). I wasn't aware of this at first, due to the POOR explanation of the achievement. I was LITERALLY trying to go

....through EVERY vehicle and get first place for ALL five events available for that specific vehicle when that wasn't even necessary. Now if you want all your PARTS unlocked for a certain vehicle, you DO have to get first in ALL events for the specific vehicle you're working on. Hope this information helps. It helped me. (And Busta (Comment 36), I'm just now reading your comment and realized that I've pretty much re-said to an extent everything YOU'VE said. (LOL) It's cool though. Good to know that there are people like us who will try to help when they can.)

*Adds to the 'Unobtainable' achievement list* That fucking Needle Point has too much dirt, too many sharp curves, and so much traffic and too many fucking pesky police cars ramming me head on!

Even Jeff Gordon with the Bugatti couldn't do this shit. A sore spot in an otherwise great game.
