Introduction:
Stranglehold is a rather enjoyable game to those that like third person shooters, with a few suspect abilities similar to those in The Matrix. As far as achievements are concerned, you’ll receive a large amount for simply progressing through the game, a larger amount for completing the 4 different difficulties and the rest are wrapped up by collectibles, style points, doing certain things on certain levels and the dreaded multiplayer achievements.

Step 1: Casual difficulty
Whilst on the Casual playthrough you should attempt “Ruthless”, “Chow Would Be Proud”, “I Don’t Know How To Play Those”, “Paleontologist” and “Stay Dry.” See the achievement guide for suitable information. It may seem obvious but always keep an eye out for Origami Cranes as one more picked up is one less to find later on, whilst on a harder difficulty.

Step 2: Hard Boiled Difficulty
This is unlocked by completing the first playthrough. Although the difficulty has greatly increased, this method saves a lot of time. Similar to last time, complete the campaign on Hard Boiled and try to pick up as many Origami Cranes as possible. Take your time, progress through the levels slowly and dispatch all enemies before moving on. There’s nothing more annoying than thinking you’ve killed everyone just to be shot in the back.

Step 3: Mop Up Single Player
By this point you should have all of the difficulty achievements, the three level specific achievements and hopefully some of the “Kill x enemies with certain move/certain item” achievements. If you haven’t, start up a new campaign and use the method the achievement guide calls for until you have it, all the while collecting more cranes. As well as this, get the remaining amount of style points required (7,650), which by this time shouldn’t be more than 2,000 at most.

After you have the 7,650 style points, go to the Unlock Shop once you’ve got and buy everything in the shop, this will net you your last two single player achievements.

Step 4: Online
The multiplayer achievements aren’t particularly taxing, even though the community is dead online, if you wait a couple of minutes someone will join your game, meaning these can be done legit. First of all do the 7 map achievements, setting the time limit to 1 minute each, you should knock these out quickly. After this you should concentrate on both the Tequila Bombs and Tequila Time multiplayer achievements, preferably as John Woo, killing three birds with one stone. After this, start the long slog to 307 kills whilst at some point going into a ranked match to get “Killing Spree.”

Step 6: DLC
Finally the DLC achievements, all are rather easy with very few problems. If you require someone to help, post HERE.

Conclusion:
At this point you should have the maximum points, but if this isn’t the case then refer to the achievement guide for guidance, or repeat the relevant steps above. All in all, a relatively simple 1250 and a rather enjoyable one at that.

These achievements are just like the last set, play through the game, and they'll unlock. The difficulties are also stackable. For example, if you play through on Hard, you'll get the achievements for Normal and Casual

  • In The Mega Restaurant level, complete the Casino or the Restaurant without using the Guitar Cases

In the mega restaurant level, on either of the first two floors, just hide the cases in a corner where you won't accidentally go near them, and just complete the floor. Personally, I believe the restaurant (1st floor) to be the easier of the two. As soon as you complete the floor, the achievement will automatically unlock. Also, on both of these levels, the "Death by Swing" achievement can also be unlocked, so if you wish, you can get them at the same time. Staying on the chandelier is also an easy way to make sure you don't go near the cases.

  • In the Chicago History Museum level, completely destroy the Brachiosaurus or the T-Rex

Completely destroy either the Brachiosaurus (long necked guy) or the T-Rex while in the Chicago History Museum

  • In the Slums of Kowloon level, stay along the top pathway in the crumbling sewer area

In the Slums of Kowloon level, stay along the top pathway. See Post #10 for some advice from Murbay

  • Kill 50 enemies with the Precision Aim special move

kill 50 enemies using precision aim

  • Kill 100 enemies with the Barrage special move

kill 100 enemies using Barrage special move

  • Kill 100 enemies with the Spin Attack Special Move

kill 100 enemies using Spin Attack special move

  • Use the Barrage special move with every weapon

Check Volucer's post #15 below for the full list of weapons, use barrage at least once with each

Also for the "Barrage with every weapon" The weapons you need are
Pistols - Which you can find pretty much anywhere
Golden Pistols - Shouldn't be too hard to find, there's some in the Penthouse level after you fight the helicoptor a second time
Shotgun - Another one that's easy to find
    Assault rifle - Ditto
    Sub-machinegun - Ditto
Heavy Machine gun - I think you can get these from the penthouse level onwards, but I'm not too sure
Rocket Launcher - There's one at the end of Kowloon, and one in Wong's Estate garden, in the left hut at the top of the stairs. But there's a hidden one earlier in the Mueseum level. When you get to the area which looks different, sorta like a maintenence tunnel, in the second room after the one you enter it, on the left hand corner closest to where you enter the room there's one.

  • On any difficulty setting, complete a level without using any of the Tequila Bomb Special Moves

Go through an entire level without using any Tequila special moves. This achievement can also be unlocked after a chapter is completed, by going back to the final checkpoint, opening it up, and completing that single part without special moves. It's kind of a glitch, secret, something.

  • On any difficulty setting, complete a Standoff by defeating all enemies without taking any damage

Just win a standoff without taking any damage. The first 2 standoffs are very easy, so within a few tries this one should be easy to unlock

  • Kill 50 enemies by using the environment instead of guns

Just kill 50 enemies using the environment. That is the shiny glistening object you see on your screen, that when shot will drop a sign, explode, fall, etc., killing whatever is under/near it. This should be unlocked just through playing through the game.

  • Kill 50 enemies while riding on a roll cart

Just kill 50 enemies by laying on a rolling cart and shooting those around you.

  • Kill 50 enemies while hanging from a chandelier

Kill 50 enemies while hanging from a chandelier, and is probably easiest unlocked while doing the "I don't know how to play those" achievement. This also helps for the "Chow would be Proud" achievement. To hang from a chandelier, just stand on the railing, and shoot at it a few times to get it swinging, then when it gets near you it will turn white and can be grabbed with LT.

  • Fire 10,000 times

Another one that will be unlocked just by playing. You just have to shoot 10,000 rounds. Relax, it'll go by a lot quicker than it seems. I unlocked it in the 3rd level. I also unloaded a lot in the 1st level working for the "Ruthless" achievement.

  • Collect 250 Origami Cranes

Just collect 250 origami cranes. Now this is not possible to do in a single run-through, but this achievement also collects over many run throughs. Supposedly it will unlock by the end of your 2nd completion. Also, any cranes collected in multiplayer do NOT count.

  • Kill 10 enemies with a 5 star kill rating

Kill 10 enemies with a 5 star style rating. This is another that should come naturally on its own, and will be unlocked while completing the hanging achievement, if it hasn't been unlocked already.

  • Perform a 50 star Style Combo

This is easiest to do in the very first chapter, here is a video showing how it's done.

    https://stage6.divx.com/user/Elemen7s...ement-Ruthless

  • Cause at least $75,000,000 of damage

Cause $75 million dollars worth of damage. This is another that will unlock naturally, and at the end of each chapter, the summary will tell you how much you tore up that chapter, in case you want to keep track of your progress

  • Acquire 5,000 total Style Points

Aquire 5,000 skill points, again, something that can't be done in one run through. Also, it is in the end of chapter summary, so you can keep track of your progress. Also, it is counting the overall acquiring of skill points, not how many skill points you have available, so there is no need to worry about holding off on your spending until this one is unlocked, also, only counts single player, not MP

  • Visit the Unlock Shop

Just enter the unlock shop. He's the bartender, and just entering that menu will unlock the achievement

  • Purchase all of the Multiplayer characters in the Unlock Shop

Unlock all the multiplayer characters in the unlock shop. It will cost about 5,350 style points, if my math is good.

  • Purchase every item in the Unlock Shop

Unlock everything in the shop, for a total of 7,650 style points required, once again, if my math is good.

  • Host and complete 10 multiplayer matches on the Kowloon Teahouse map

Just host and complete 10 online matches in either ranked or player in the Kowloon Teahouse. With a friend, and the match set to 1 minute, it can be done rather quickly.

  • Host and complete 10 multiplayer matches on the Dinosaur Rotunda map

Same as Tea Party but in the Dinosaur Rotunda

  • Host and complete 10 multiplayer matches on the Golden Dragon Casino map

Same as Tea Party but in the Golden Dragon Casino

Same as Tea Party but in the Mega Lounge

Same as Tea Party but in the Totem Pole Gallery

  • Host and complete 10 multiplayer matches on the Tai O Drug Labs map

Same as Tea Party but in the Tai O Drug Labs

  • Host and complete 10 multiplayer matches on the Chicago Penthouse map

Same as Tea Party but in the Chicago Penthouse

  • Finish in 1st place in a Multiplayer ranked match

Finish in 1st place in a multiplayer ranked match, pretty self-explanatory.

  • Get 5 kills in a row without dying in a Multiplayer ranked match

Get 5 kills in a row without dying in a mutiplayer ranked match.

  • Kill 50 opponents while in Tequila Time in Multiplayer matches

Kill 50 opponents while in Tequila Time in either Ranked or Player multiplayer matches

  • Kill 50 opponents using Tequila Bombs in Multiplayer matches

Kill 50 opponents using Tequila Bombs in either Ranked or Player multiplayer matches

  • Kill 307 opponents in Multiplayer matches

Kill 307 opponents in either Ranked or Player . It's really helpful to do this after unlocking John Woo as a multiplayer character, then you can stack this achievement with the next.

  • Kill 100 opponents as John Woo in Multiplayer matches

Kill 100 opponents as John Woo. As mentioned in the last one, if you unlocked the previous one using John Woo, this one should have unlocked on its own.

DLC: Map Pack

There are 10 achievements with a total of 250 points

  • Win a multiplayer match without using a health pack.

Start a match with the time limit set to 1 minute and invite a buddy to the game. Kill him once and do your best to avoid health packs. A health pack is a little white box with a red cross on it that generally hangs from a wall. Simply avoid touching those as much as possible. If necessary have your friend move to you rather than moving to your friend, so as to avoid accidentally grabbing a health pack while on your way over to him.

  • Win a multiplayer match without using a Tequila Bomb.

Tequila Bombs are the Heath Regen, Precision Aim, Barrage, and Spin Move. These are activated using the D-Pad on the controller and pressing in the correct direction ().
Simply set the time limit to 1 minute and then invite and kill a buddy once without touching the D-Pad. If you have absolutely no Tequila Bomb meter filled up you can press any direction on the D-Pad and still be awarded the achievement. As long as you don't actually use a Tequila Bomb you are fine.

  • In multiplayer, kill an opponent with a precision aim crotch shot.

As the description specifies, you must get a crotch shot for this achievement. You need to do this online so get your buddy and invite him to a match. Once you're in the match, shoot your friend in the crotch with a precision aim. In order to get precision aim you need to get at least 1/4th of your tequila gauge full and then hit to activate precision aim.

  • In multiplayer, kill an opponent with an explosion in Slums Courtyard.

Load up the new level Slums Courtyard with a friend. Scatted throughout the level are propane tanks and grenades. You can use either one of these to kill your enemy and receive the achievement. You can find some propane tanks near the bottom of the level half submerged in water. Have your friend stand near these and then shoot the propane tank a few times. It may take multiple tanks to kill your enemy. You can shoot him first, but the explosion needs to finish him off.

  • In multiplayer, kill an opponent with an explosion in Fisherman’s Cove.

Similar to the achievement "Boom Town". Load up the level Fisherman's Cove with a friend. There are many propane tanks that can be found inside the houses. It may take multiple tanks to kill your enemy. You can shoot him first, but the explosion needs to finish him off.

  • In multiplayer, kill an opponent with an explosive in Slums Downpour.

Similar to the achievement "Boom Town", except load up the level Slums Downpour.
Propane tanks are scattered throughout the level. It may take multiple tanks to kill your enemy. You can shoot him first, but the explosion needs to finish him off.

  • In multiplayer, kill an opponent on the Heavy Machine Gun platform in Tai O Settlement

For this achievement you need your opponent to be on the HMG platform. You can be where ever you please when you kill him. The HMG is on a stranded little platform out in the water. In order to reach it, you need to zip-line down from the wire that is on a small wooden platform outside a small house near the outskirts of the level. Once there, just kill the opponent on the platform.

  • In multiplayer, kill an opponent in the hull of the ship in Naval Exercise

Load up Naval Exercise with your buddy. The ship you need to kill your enemy inside of is the large red and white ship nearby where you spawn. Just enter the hull of it and then kill your enemy/friend while you are both inside of the ship.

  • In multiplayer, kill an opponent with a falling object in Kowloon Market.

Load up the Kowloon Market with a buddy. Look around for an air conditioning unit, these are attached to walls and are semi high up. (above jumping range) After locating a unit have your friend stand directly beneath it. Shoot the unit and it will drop on your friend, instantly killing him and awarding you 20 points.

  • In multiplayer, kill an opponent with a melee attack.

Get your friend into a game with you. The only way to melee isa to be out of ammo. So start off the round by emptying your double pistols and avoiding picking up other guns or more ammo. Once out of ammo have your friend come over to you and then try to shoot him (). Instead of shooting your gun you now punch. Hit your friend a few times and he will drop.
