Introduction
Joe Danger has made a much welcomed leap from PSN to XBLA in the form of a special edition! This means that Xbox users get a great new lab mode with tons of extra challenges to get Joe back on his bike. The game starts out simple but you will soon discover that the later levels like to kick you in the knickers with some crazy platforming challenges and time trials. So lets get Joe back on his bike doing what he loves! Performing daring stunts over western themed stunt environments collecting stars, slamming down on targets, landing crazy over the top combos, and beating team nasty by beating them and then beating them again to the finish line! This isn't Monday Madness. This is more of a Saturday Madness because instead of watching lame modern children's cartoons you will feel the urge to become further acquainted with J-J-Joe D-D-D-Danger!
Playthrough
The great part of the game is you can either begin starting the main career or start on the lab experiments and can continue to swap back and forth as you see fit. You can always replay levels to get any of the stars you've missed and certain levels feature Pro Medals which require you complete every challenge in the level in one go. Don't sweat it though, you only need to collect all the stars in a level for the achievements. However if you are feeling savvy enough these Pro Medals can unlock an addition roster of amusing playable characters. Also note that any of the stars you obtain in the lab experiments don't count towards Danger is My Middle Name so you only need to collect enough stars in the Lab to unlock all of the levels.
Unlockables
There are 25 Pro Medals to collect in the game throughout the Career and Lab. There aren't any achievements tied to the Pro Medals but they unlock characters, gamer pictures and can also be redeemed in future Hello-Games! (Whatever that means. Hopefully hinting at future xbla projects.) The unlocks are as follows; 2 Pro Medals - Chuckles the Chimp costume 4 Pro Medals - Chicken Joe costume 5 Pro Medals - Joe Danger gamer picture 6 Pro Medals - Sir Bonehead costume 8 Pro Medals - Hot Pink Team Nasty costume 10 Pro Medals - Joe-ronimo costume 13 Pro Medals - Knuckles the Chimp costume 16 Pro Medals - Knight of Doom costume 20 Pro Medals - Cock-A-Doodle-Joe costume 25 Pro Medals - SE Pro Medal gamer picture
Sandbox
Included in the game is a sandbox mode / level editor. It's not achievement related. The sandbox mode is just a place to have fun and create. I've made a guide for sandbox mode that can be found in the Sandbox Thread / Guide and Tips.
Conclusion
After completing the main game and lab there will be 180 stars to collect and collection achievements are received along the way. To get the full 200 you will have to be persistent and patient because the stars in later levels can be very challenging particularly in the Director's Cut levels. The platforming is tight and the game is very fun so it shouldn't feel like a grind. Happy Platforming!
