This is pretty much just another movie game, but it isn't as bad as many. It does get tedious at moments, but for the most part, it's a simple and fairly easy 1000 :gsicon: game. Each playthrough will take you anywhere between 5-9 hours, depending on how long it takes you to complete all of the sector challenges.
Introduction
James Cameron's Avatar is an extremely anticipated movie that came out on December 18, 2009. Along with any AAA movie, there's just got to be a game. Anyway, you have to do a minimum of 2 playthroughs, one as the Na'vi, and one as the RDA. There's no difficulty, so don't worry about playing it on easy or medium, etc. All the secret achievements in the game are simply for beating it, so that knocks out 15 achievements accumulating 450 :gsicon:.
Step #1: Playthrough 1 - As the Avatar
It doesn't matter which side you pick, you can either choose to stay a human or help the Na'vi as an Avatar. I would go with the Na'vi your first time around. Simply beat the game and get all the Clean Sweep achievements for the Na'vi. To access the "Sector Challenges" in your current sector, press the button and press . There are various objectives such as "Lift the Fog: Explore the map and reveal the entire map." and "Cell Samples Collection". It should only take you a few hours to beat it and complete the sector challenges for each area.
Step #2: Playthrough 2 - As the Humans
On this playthrough, play as the RDA, or humans. Complete each mission and go back and complete all the "Sector Challenges" [see step 1 for more information] and the final 7 secret achievements, as well as all the remaining Clean Sweep achievements will be yours.
Step #3: Jack of All Skills and Turn the Tide Achievements.
Do these achievements at the end of the RDA campaign by selecting continue.
Now for the Conquest achievement (Turn The Tide), what you want to do is make sure you have gotten 100% on all the missions/planets and this will give you around 95,000-100,000 credits. What you want to do when you start Conquest is use all your credits to buy 20,000+ Soliders, 95+ Mech suits and 30+ Helicopters then all you have to do is move everything to each part you wish to take over. Keep doing that and you will have 50% captured in no time as the Na'vi will tend to build more than attack.
For the Jack of all Skills achievement, what you want to do is when you have finished the RDA campaign load up a planet and select 4 skills to use (any will do). Use them and then select the Travel guy and travel to another planet. This will fill up your skills again and is much faster than waiting for them to fill up themselves. Just do that 20 times and then select the other 3 skills. Rinse and repeat until the achievement pops up.
Step #4: Go Online
There are 2 methods to completing the 150 games completed. The first is the "do nothing" method and the other is to play CTF (Capture the flag). For the capture the flag method all you have to do is get a group of people together and just run the flag from the enemy base to yours 3 times and the game will end, With a good team and a good rhythm you can knock out games within 2-3 minutes.
Although this is faster its very boring and tedious so i suggest doing the "do nothing" method. All you have to do for this is start up a private game of TDM (Team Death Match), open it to public, start it up and then just leave your 360 on for 25-27 hours and the achievement will pop as the game auto starts each game without you having to be there or if you don't want to leave your 360 on you could do it when you go to bed/work for a few nights.
All the other MP achievements are self explanatory and can all be boosted with a partner in a private match. If you need a partner please post HERE to find one.
Conclusion
In the end, this is a pretty easy game to get all of the achievements in. If you hated the story and thought it was dull, don't worry, this is a prelude and not based on the plot from the movie. This one shouldn't give you much trouble, so good luck!
