This game is easily done in one sitting and shouldn't give you too much trouble. It earns it's 2/10 difficulty rating because most kills only take one shot, and you rarely die. A mission can be replayed again at anytime, so you can go back and get any collectibles that you miss.
Depending on your skill level with First-Person Shooters you can either do this game in one playthrough, or it may take you as many as three. I say that because the game allows you to play it on Hard first, which allows you to get the Target Times achievements, Collectibles/Barrels, and the Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty achievements.
This road map will focus on three playthroughs, although it isn't the quickest way, it is the easiest way to 1000.
Step #1: Easy Playthrough
You're going to need a few things handy before you start. First, you will need the Barrels/Bonus Objectives/Collectables List. You will need to follow this guide the entire game to get the eight Rank Achievements (General, Colonel, Major, Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant, Corporal, Pioneer), the two Bonus Objective Achievements (Attention to Detail, To the Letter), and the one Barrel Achievement (Demolitions).
Start the game off on "Easy". You should get Smell the Roses, Attention to Detail, and Chancellorsville on the first mission. Continue with the second mission on Easy and when you complete it you should get Pioneer, Corporal, and Cold Harbor.
Continue with the third mission and you should unlock Sergeant, and Hampshire. Move onto the fourth mission and you'll unlock Lieutenant, Gettysburg, and you may unlock Reporting for Duty. If you don't unlock it after completing the fourth mission, you will unlock it after completing the fifth mission. It just depends on how many kills you get each mission.
Once you complete the fifth mission you'll unlock Captain, Major, and Martinsburg. Continue on with the sixth mission to unlock Grand Gulf. Then, after you complete the seventh mission you'll get Colonel, General, and Jackson. Sometime before the last mission you should unlock More Than Enough.
Complete the eighth and ninth mission to receive Lynchburg and Vicksburg. Then do the 10th mission to earn Vicksburg Gate, Demolitions, To the Letter, and War Survivor.
Since you just completed the game you will unlock the bonus mission Siege of Vicksburg. Get the Ironclad achievement now.
Step #2: Target Times
Now you will want to go for Sprint to the Finish, Minuteman Medal, and Overachiever.
Replay the fifth mission on Easy, use the guide and you'll unlock Sprint to the Finish and Overachiever after completing it.
Now run through missions 1-4 and 6-10 and make sure you complete them under the target time to pick up Minuteman Medal. You will get the Tough Guy achievement in between your Target Times missions. You can do the Target Times at the same time as your Hard playthrough, but it makes it much tougher.
Step #3: Hard Playthrough
Make sure you use your skill points to raise your skills from when you ran through the game on Easy. This will make your Hard playthrough a breeze.
Finally, run through each mission on the Hard difficulty and you'll unlock the War Veteran,and War Hero.
Step #4: Finishers & Conclusion
It's time to finish off the last of the achievements. This is when you go for Marksman, and Bullseye.
These last six achievements are left over because they're all weapon kills. You will more than likely unlock the majority of them by just plaything through the game, but if you haven't, this is where you're going to want to finish them up (Sniper, Close Combat, Raining Grenades, Quick Draw, Cannons Away, Gat-slinger).
x360a would like to thank Apple for this Road Map
|Reporting for Duty||25|
|Kill 250 enemies.||(2)|
|See "Tough Guy."|
|More Than Enough||50|
|Kill 500 enemies.|
|See "Tough Guy."|
|Kill 750 enemies.|
|Depending on if you run through missions or stick around to finish off every last enemy, you will either reach 750 kills at the end of your first play through or mid-way through your second play through. You will vary from 45-85 kills a mission. The kills you get from replaying missions do count toward your overall kill count.|
|Sprint to the Finish||20|
|Complete a mission below the target time.||(1)|
|See "Minuteman Medal."|
|Complete all missions below the target time.||(2)|
|Nine of the 10 campaign missions have target times to beat, some of them a little tougher than others. I would suggest completing the target times on Easy with each of your skills maxed at Level 2. Target times are listed below and can also be found by pressing Y to see the statistics in the mission select menu. |
|Complete a mission below the target time and completed all the bonus objectives.||(1)|
Select The Great Train Raid of 1861 from the mission select and follow this video guide.
Bonus Objectives: 4
|Killed 75 enemies with head shots.||(2)|
|Since you will be primarily using bolt action rifles with no scopes throughout the game it could be a little tricky to get head shots at times. Wait until you pick up a scoped sniper rifle and then attempt head shots. A fairly decent level to attempt head shots is Sharpshooters at Devil's Den, which is the fourth mission, as it is primarily a sniper level and starts you out with a sniper rifle.|
|Kill 25 enemies using melee attacks.||(1)|
|When an enemy is in close range you can click down on your right stick to melee them with the butt of your gun. Try to only melee enemies that are by themselves, because groups can overwhelm you at times, even on Easy.|
|Kill 50 enemies using grenades.|
|You will usually start with five grenades in your inventory at the start of every mission. Grenades are very powerful and usually kill any enemy within 10 feet of the explosion. Try to save grenades for enemies that cluster together. If you need to resupply, just pick up ammo packs, as they will disperse five grenades each.|
|Kill 50 enemies using sidearms.|
|Various missions equip you with a pistol, or sidearm, in the beginning of the level. Try to kill as many enemies with the pistol throughout the story as possible. Head shots work the best from close range, as body hits take several shots to kill an enemy from a distance. If you still need pistol kills play the ninth mission Captain Blazer's Scouts. This missions starts you out with a pistol and is fairly long with a good amount of enemies.|
|Kill 25 enemies using cannons.|
|Use cannons to kill enemy forces whenever you get the chance. You will have many opportunities within the first six missions to use cannons. A good place to get kills is near the end of the first mission Dawn at Chancellorsville. You will come across two cannons that you will need to use to shoot down a wooden tower. These cannons are placed in front of the camp where all the enemies are, making it fairly easy to get kills from a distance.|
|Kill 50 enemies using Gatling Guns.|
|The quickest way to get Gatling gun kills is on the fifth mission The Great Train Raid of 1861. Use the Gatling gun located on the train to kill all enemies in sight before continuing with missions objectives.|
|Shoot all explosive barrels in every mission.|
|To find all the barrels simply follow this collectables guide.|
You can check to see what missions you've shot all the barrels in by pressing on a selected mission. If you've shot them all in that selected mission, it will say "All exploding barrels destroyed."
|Complete a mission with over 75% accuracy.|
|Complete a mission with over 95% accurracy.||(1)|
|The best mission to achieve over 95% accuracy is The Gray Ghost, which is the third mission in the campaign. Select Easy as the difficulty. From the start of the mission walk straight and then turn left through a white fence and two enemies will rush out. Use your Henry Rifle to shoot one of the enemies in the head, and make sure it's a head shot. Now continue through the mission and only use your grenades and melee (Click ) to attack enemies.|
|Earn the rank of Pioneer.|
|Earn the rank of Corporal.|
|Earn the rank of Sergeant.|
|Earn the rank of Lieutenant.|
|Earn the rank of Captain.|
|Earn the rank of Major.|
|Earn the rank of Colonel.|
|Earn the rank of General.||(3)|
|You rank-up throughout the game by completing bonus objectives, shooting barrels, and other various things. Each mission has at least one or more bonus objectives to complete, and most missions have barrels to shoot. You can use this collectables guide to find or complete bonus objectives and barrel locations.|

It is labled Bonus Level: Siege and can be completed on any difficulty. Make sure you follow your objectives and look for the star on your compass if you're having trouble. Press your back button to see your objectives.|
|Complete the game on the easiest difficulty setting (or higher).|
|See "War Hero."|
|Complete the game on the medium difficulty setting (or higher).|
|See "War Hero."|
|Complete the game on the hardest difficulty setting.||(2)|
|If you complete the game on the hardest difficulty setting, you will get the achievement for completing the game on the medium and easiest difficulty setting as well. I would suggest completing the game on the easiest setting first because this will earn you Skill Points which you can later use to your advantage when going through on the hardest difficulty. |
To check which missions you've completed on Hard, Medium, or Easy simply select Missions from the main menu and on the bottom of the screen it will list what difficulty the level has been completed on.
|Smell the Roses||20|
|Completed a mission on land without running.||(2)|
|Clicking down on the right stick will make you run, and you will need to complete an entire mission without doing so. You can do this on any mission, but it would be easiest on The Fall of Vicksburg. It's the 10th and final mission and takes less than four minutes to complete.|
