|Little Rocket Man||30|
|Send the garden gnome into space.|
In Episode Two, find the Gnome in the communications shack in the begining of the game. He is hidden under a shelf. Keep the gnome with you until you get to the White Forrest Base and place it in the rocket with Lamarr. You must close the door after you place the Gnome inside the Rocket with Lamarr. The achievement will unlock once the door is closed.

Here's a tip. When in the train-yard with the helicopter overhead, whenever the helicopter flies over you, the wind sucks the gnome out. Try this: set the gnome out of the car before attempting to cross the yard. Take Alyx and the car to the end where the tunnels are. Get out of the car and Sprint under the nearest train car. keep popping out and hiding under cars (you can't get shot while under a train car). It's a bit time consuming, but it eliminates some frustration. Grab the gnome and come back the same way.

So, do you have to like carry him through the entire game or something? cause
that is what you have to do inL4D dark carnival

This is one of my favorite & my proudest achievements. This requires EXTREME patience, and LOTS of saving. Save any time you get past a place you deem mildly difficult to bring your little friend with. So when things -do- go awry, you can just revert to a save.

Quite simply the best achievement on the 360.
The driving part isn't that bad, I remember just firing the gnome a fair distance with the Grav Gun then driving, picking up the gnome again and repeating.
Games should have more achievements like this where they have nothing to do with the story...another reason for replay-ability.

Tip - When you come to the place where the vortigaunts are healing Alyx, leave the gnome there while you battle the ant lions and when you go through the tunnels to gather the extract, you end back here anyway so you don't have to take it with you.

This is easy once you turn on invincibility. Takes some time and patience, but it's far from difficult.

The time me and Travelocity Gnome went through will never be forgotten. From accidentally finding it under a table and wondering "hey what's this?" to looking at my achievement list and going "ah shit...", then the times we had as I tossed you repeatidly at enemies, fired my gun while you were in the way yet you took every bullet like a champ. I even got so mad at a helicopter that you went out of your way to fly straight from my grav gun and hit it upside the cockpit. I was so proud...then you dissapeared and I didn't know where you were, so I had to reload a save just to make sure you stayed by my side, Gnomey. Then on the final trek, ignoring the race with Wall-E and finally setting you in your place, comfertabely laying back in the rocket as I close the door. I'll miss you, Little

Certainly my proudest achievement, mainly because I didn't have an idea what I was supposed to do without the internet yet I trekked through it all anyways, taking him everywhere with me.

Fun and challenging achievement. I did not press on until I wedged the gnome between my back opening and seat. He did not move at all and didn't fall out once :)

this, was really the hardest one i have ever got in a xbox 360 game, from chapter one to four? serioulsy, driving was one thing, but the attack chopper? plus all the getting in and out of the car? not to mention looking for it, it was hard, long and at times frustrating, but in the end, it was worth sending that little bastard into space.

to make it way easier, do the following. During the helicopter part, blast that gnome straight ahead. drive to it. hide under train cars, use gun to pull gnome to you. rinse and repeat! REMEMBER to hide under the rails. also check this walkthrough out. it tells you when you can abandon the gnome and get him back later! http://www.visualwalkthroughs.com/halflife2/episodetwo/episodetwowalkthrough.htm

The hardest part was when the damn Chopper showed up....
You can always get out the car, use the Gravity Gun to throw the Gnome up ahead of you, get back into the car and just drive to where the Gnome is. That is what I did when the Chopper showed up.

Perhaps I was too harsh on my last post, I absolutely hhate having to redo things, no matter how small so obviously I was pretty frustrated at the time. :P About to start the driving part so hopefully it won't be too bad.
