You'll meet more then enough gunships to get this achievement. Those include: one At New little Odessa, one on highway 17, One at the lighthouse, 2 at Nova Prospect, one at the bridge; the one when get to the roof of the building with the suppresion device, and one just before you enter the citadel. |

Use either the rocket launcher (easiest way) or SMG grenades. I got this at Nova Prospect, and I also took out about two that were "optional".
Every time you see one that's shooting at you, chances are you can take it down and there will usually be rocket ammo nearby. |

Do smg grenades really work? Even if the do, it would be almost impossible to hit a gunship with one.
Btw, none of these gunships is skipable (except for the 2 I didn't mention, that attack you during the final bossfight) and there is ALWAYS a rocket crate nearby. Just saying |
