Everyone can get it, since the rules by MS is all Achievements must be able to be unlocked. @17 and 18, I think it's just a free chievo to say 'thanks for supporting our previous games' for those who have achievements from 1/2 and it's a free chievo for everyone else, who tries out the game at a friend's house or something. It wouldn't be the first game with a free achievement for popping in the disc, and it surely won't be the last. |

If an achievement has 0 points like this one, they don't have to make this obtainable to everyone. An example of this is in B&K: Nuts and Bolts, where there's one achievement worth 0G that you can only get by playing the other B&K games. |

I think what it does is allows you to see the outlines of the opposing team if you hold the LB button. It's the same thing with capture the leader where the leader can see everyone on the map, blue is your team, red is the enemy team. I don't think it's unobtainable, I'm sure you just play an online match for the first time and you will get it. Either that or you have to die and never get a kill for your first match and then it will switch you to casual for a round or two until your kill / death ratio gets better. |

I played casual for a while and nothing poped, but all my friends got it first match. Loaded up gears 1 and 2, and got a checkpoint... getting no achevements on either, then went back and played a casual match again and poped right after the match. Not sure if it was how many I played of if loading up the old gears games worked. Give it a try. |

 | Comment #100 by WesPhoenix Sunday, September 25, 2011 @ 03:54:05 AM if you've gotten to a certain level online on Gears 2 you'll get it at the press start screen but if like me you haven't played the first 2 (i have but i got a new GT and haven't played it on this one) you will have to play casual versus, once you get a good couple of games it will pop up, mine came up 2 rounds after i turned to level 13 so its got nothing to do with what level. when its searching for games and it keeps displaying 'Cannot find games to match your skill level' chances are you'll get it in the next two games or something, i was worrying how to get it too but it will come just keep playing. |

 | Comment #118 by tempa75 Saturday, October 01, 2011 @ 10:33:32 PM i Havent got this acheivement and i have played gears 1 2 and finished 3 but i havent played multiplayer on any game apart from gears 3 reason being i just got on gold a month ago. but my housemate has played gears 2 on multiplayer and got too level 2 and then played gears 3 and this acheivement popped up when he got too the start menu. so im pretty sure you have to play multiplayer on gears 1 and 2 then play gears 3. nothing to do with the main game. |

Some after playing a certain amount of gears 3. Some who have played 1 and 2, some who haven't played either. A bunch of us still can't get it. Which sucks. To those who troll or read 2 or 3 posts and then post something stupid in response, you suck. I have 500 achievement points, and a bunch in both 1 and 2, and it hasn't unlocked for me, so you can understand the frustration. It is a stupid worthless zero point achievement, and the frustration stems from having to spend more than 10 seconds thought on it... But I plan to keep playing and hopefully it will randomly accept me as one if its own soon. I also plan to stick Gears 1 and Gears 2 back in the xbox to see |

My personal profile and the one others use for 2 player have achievements from gears 1 and 2. All my mate did was select casual versus from the main menu and he got the achievement. After a few games i still hadn't got the achievement, so we went back to the main menu and I selected casual versus, but no achievement. ???? WTF |

Easily the 5th time, maybe 10th I have done this, and I have 500+ achievement points in both 1 and 2, and have loaded up both games recently to see if I needed to download updates for them or something. Glitched achievement basically. and for zero points it just makes it more annoying. |
