Epic decided to remove the annex achievement playlist which kind of screwed me over. 	Comment #64 by slayer2121 Saturday, June 18, 2011 @ 03:09:02 PM Ok this one can be very annoying, you must win a match of annex on each of the flashback and combustible maps. Those are flood, gold rush, fuel station, gridlock, subway, canals, mansion, and tyro station. You can either do these in social or ranked but you can not do these in custom as they will not count. Also you must completely finish each game on each map. If you disconnect or the host quits before the match is over you will not get credit towards the achievement. A quick but not necessarily easy way to do this is to go into social annex match and play it if it is one of the maps you need. If it is not one of the maps you need just quit to lobby and start another match. That way you don’t have to sit threw maps you don’t need. My last map was flood and it took me forever to find it. I

The best luck I have is going into ranked matches and using the Annex/KOTH map pack list. This would be a lot easier if I had some like minded peeps with me so that we can swing the vote in our favor. Seems like my team will get blown out on a map I need or the votes will tie and we'll get put on war machine or nowhere. Ive noticed in the five games I played tonight 4 of them had lag switches and caused them to win the game. The one game that didnt have this my team won. Im all around moderately skilled at Gears and im sure like the rest of you are in the last one month crunch to finish Gears 2 for Gears 3 unlockables just add me on xbox live GT: yoshometsu I work tomorow so will not be on till 12am-ish but am willing to stay up until 4am to finish this or get as much as we can done. Most people I find like to give it a go for ONE or TWO rounds then go back to Horde, and I don't blame them. It's just more fun/easier. If you're willing to help, I'd greatly appreciate it. In fact, all I really have left are the Ranked/Social achievements - This (Annex), Wingman, Submission, and Guardian achievements. GT and username are the same and I'm on more often than I should be, lol. PS. If anybody is the truly altruistic soul, they see me online but don't feel like playing Gears of War 2, and you have Guitar Hero 2, 3, or Metallica --> :) Let me know. If you can host and you are on at a low traffic time, you can keep hosting your own match. Just quit out if it's not the one that you want. Then it's just a matter of beating the bots and any other people that join.

Every time you get into a game already started, go back to meeting point. When you start playing ONLY with bots, you are doing the right way. Then just start the game and go back if the map is not one of the 8 required. Do it again and again until you get the right map, win the game and get the achievement. --- I reccomend this: -Try to be doing something else or you'll get tired so soon (Angry Birds or a local PC game worked for me). -If you get into a started match again and again, try to -Play in a low activity time. -Try to play the Leveled > Annex KotH list. After a while without getting opponents, go back to Social > Annex and soon you'll start playing just with bots. -Be

I was lucky to find two other very good players who were already in a party. When I found that I couldn't beat them, I asked to join their party. The three of us ended up grinding through about half of the maps on Annex, netting me 5 of the 8 maps. Unfortunately, at that point they got their achievements, and so they left. However, by this point it was 4:00 am in the morning, and I found that no one else was playing online. This was important because then I could start a match over and over again as the host to try to get the maps I still needed. You can keep trying until you get a map no more than 2 or 3 away from the one you want. For estimation purposes, you can assume each game of Annex with just you and 9 other bots is going to take about 20 mins. So, if you are 2 maps away, you can expect to wait about 40 mins before you get to your desired map. By the way, it seems that the AI of the bots you fight against varies according to how well you do. So if you are playing on a map which is not one of the 8, then it's better to lose on purpose so that the bots don't get too good by the time you get to your maps.
