Excellent guide! I got this achievement by equipping the auto-land robot then playing until a big green ship triggered it. The auto-land robot makes the ship uncrashable and automatically routes it to the runway, but you can reset it's route. Once I did that, it was a simple matter to create a long, circuitous route for it which made it spawn a couple dozen scout ships (also uncrashable). Then I just ignored it while landing other ships until enough scouts were on the screen to trigger the achievement. Messy, but easy! :)
