For Ninja Step (under The Spider), you need to liberate 2 outposts without being detected. You could miss this achievement if you liberated all outposts whilst being detected every time.

Are there any other missable components to this one?

@Tayloroids, thanks for the heads up, really missable.
I am already half way thru the game, totally undetected is much more difficult now. Might need to start another new game to get this achievement.

I don't think so, copy your save file to a memory stick and you can try it.
If that don't work put the old file on the memory stick back on your Xbox.

If you start another game can you just unlock that skill to get the cheevo? I'll have every one but the undetected one so wouldn't the game recognize that I already unlocked all of them?

it's no that hard even later in the game. Half way through i realized i needed this and found more than two outposts later on , where all you have to do is shoot a bears cage and he will kill most if not all the enemies. Dont restart a whole new file, the skills wont track over because your starting as a new stroyline. If your still having trouble, trying tagging them from a distance and sniping them. Silencers help.

The hardest part of this for me was the death from below to unlock the Dual death from below. I completed the outposts and story line before I looked at the achievements. However, I found one place to do it. At the AM 12 outpost there is a wanted dead mission that will take you to a swamp and the target and a sniper will be up on a second floor at X:674.5, Y:781.4. I just cleared out the ground level guards, threw a rock at the wall just under the ledge, then right sticked it and done! Too easy.

The easiest thing for going stealth is to snipe the alarms from a distance. Just make sure you get all of them, there is usually 2 or 3.

@16 press X on "gunslinger takedown" in the skills menu to view the "how-to" tutorial.

@16 if you mean you haven't unlocked it yet, you simply need to kill people using a pistol.

do throwing rocks count towards being detected?
Monday, January 07, 2013 @ 03:50:51 PM
@15 It doesn't really help to snipe the alarms considering you need to clear the outpost undetected and the alarms won't trigger unless you get detected.

#21- not at all. They can know you are there, they can run around looking for you, they can start to see you. It only counts as "detected" if you are fully seen (full white bar).

Following on from @13 I would say that the death from below takedown is easier to miss as its not very often you will/need to do it!! On that note, another great place to get it quite early on too (once you've unlocked the ability obviously) is the mission to destroy Vaas's Munitions cache at the lumberyard to prevent the attack on Amanaki Town!! as you approach the yard, come from the west, swin to the dock where a Pirate patrols the jetty every 45/60 seconds, just wait till he comes to the edge and perform takedown when prompted, then bingo, done!! also it is possible to do this at a later stage if you havent unlocked the ability, as the pirates keep respawning here, so even easier to do!!!! :-D

Death from below is easiest if you just sneak into an outpost with a sniper on a roof. Crouch partway up the stairs and wait until they walk over to the ledge (they all seem to eventually). You'll probably get spotted but nailing it isn't hard.

Fortunately I had gone undetected 1 time early in the game, but I needed a 2nd one after defeating Vaas. A simple outpost for this is Spine Ridge. Just go to X 336 Y 476 and you can snipe them and scoot back quickly in the grass to remain undetected.

you will get a lot of xp by preforming a take down on the "tanks", not sure what´s their name - they have a red shield above them when you mark them. popped up, short before you have to infiltrate the mining side with the mercenaries.

Keep in mind that you have to have the skill unlocked in the tree, and it is only available pretty late in the game (once you unlock the second island).
It gives about 2000xp, and it's interesting because you can preform the takedown from any angle, and even if they're aware of you (or, at least I did)

Have used the death from below a few times, but it still has not unlocked, also the same with clearing outposts undetected, have done way more than 2 and it still hasn't unlocked..
I have only just rescued Oliver so I am hoping that they maybe unlock later in the game as I have matched the requirements.

@#30: Once you have met the requirements, you just need to wait until the particular mission completion that unlocks the ability to gain the skill.

Just got the death from below very easily. When you have to go into the bunker after talking to buck. Make your way downwards until you hear Jason say f,,k vaas's men are here, swim through the ruined car/train and there is a guy kneeling down with his back to you. Just swim up behind him and press rs when prompted...easy. death from below.

This the second job for Buck, after the ship. While you just need one, I was able to get two from here.
