	Comment #9 by Maiyku Tuesday, September 04, 2012 @ 03:36:53 PM #8 is correct. I couldn't get the Jarl of Dawnstar to sell me a plot of land so I went and killed a giant that he wanted dead. Upon completion of the quest the option to become his Thane appeared as well as the option to buy the land plot. So if you're having the same problem I did, then just do a quest or two for the Jarl and it should become available :)

I cant get the one from Falkreath tho for some reason. i tried to see if theres any quests for the Jarl there but theres nothing to do and no options of any quests to take.

	Comment #15 by xUnseenx Tuesday, September 04, 2012 @ 09:35:35 PM Just wanted to help out. For the ability to purchase the three plots of land. You must be a Thane for Dawnstar and Morthal. To be able to get the land for Falkreath, you must complete the quest for the Jarl of Falkreath and give him black briar mead. Make sure you have no other radiant quests in your quest log to accept this quest. Go to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Radiant to find a list of radiant quests so you can rule out some, I will tell you I got stuck here as well but realized I had a radiant quest from ages ago (sadly meaning I missed other radiant quests because of this.) Hope this helps.

Went back to falkreath and new quest was given to me by the stewart. This all would be easily avoided by just keeping up on your quests.

You can get the courier to give you the letter or, become thane of the provence. that is easy to do since most of the previous quests i had helped the people out. as soon as you buy the last land deed you get the achievement. cost it 15,000 gold. 5,000 per deed.

What an absolute steaming pile of shit they have released once again. Put 200+ hours into this game and they consistently release broken shite. Why put the stupid disposition barrier in place to buy it FFS!?

I'm the Thane in all three towns; I've hunted down dragons, giants, and bandits for each Jarl, and I've completed random quests for the residents of each town. Across 3 different save games I can only obtain 1 plot of land with the remaining two stewards refusing to sell the other 2 plots. I have sided with the stormcloaks and the imperials, however on my 3rd save game I never completed the civil war quests. On a side note, I started a 4th save game and during my first visit to Whiterun I got the note to buy land in Falkreath even though I've never been there.

If you clear those particular quests then the Jarl gives you a quest to get black-briar mead so make sure you have some of that as well.

However, there are some of us who are already thanes of Falkreath with all those and even more quests done yet we don't have the option to buy the land plot. I'm guessing it has something to do with killing the Jarl's housecarl for Brotherhood...

	Comment #31 by Dragonlord 147 Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 12:14:25 AM I personally don not like that if joined the dark brotherhood you killed the housecarl of falkenreach you cannot buy the land because the ruler of that district DOESN'T HIRE ANOTHER ONE! Unless they patch that everyone who has done that mission must now create a new character and buy all two land pots again with that other one and rebuild two houses just to make their last one for this achievement.

I had 'locked' quests that couldn't be finished in my misc quests AND I had completed the Brotherhood quest line. All I did was to keep going to Falkreath and Dawnstar and checking with either the current Jarl or their steward or whomever is their 'right-hand' person. Help them out (killing bandit leaders, dragons, etc) and they WILL eventually offer the land to you. Check back 24-48 hours after each quest completion and eventually you will run out of quests and they will like you enough to offer the land (sometimes they'll offer a house but when you check with the steward or whomever, they offer the land). Patience seemed to be key for me as I just kept checking back with the three different cities and Jarls and eventually it came. And I

Before completing Hail Sithis i had only been to Falkreath once and that was to kill the thane. once you kill the thane, the Jarl will no longer like you. But if you have not started the civil war quests or you are a Storm Cloak, once you have liberated Falkreath hold, the Jarl and stewart will be replaced, and there will be a new thane. He is much more friendly, and may ask you to find something in a cave, as well as help 3 people in the hold which is easy and then POOF you can now buy land in Falkreath if you talk to the new steward who is an old lady that used to be the maid

	Comment #46 by Driftwood83 Thursday, May 09, 2013 @ 06:43:47 PM Dawnstar - Went to the Jarl, asked for work and did one quest for him. I then had the option to buy the plot, took 10-15 minutes. Morthal - Had to ask the Jarls husband Aslfur for work 4-5 times and did those quests for him. Then talked to the Jarl and did a quest for her called "lied to rest" or something like that. Then once that was complete I could buy the plot of land. Took about an hour to do all the quests for this plot. Havent done the Falkreath one yet, taking a break. I find the quests I had to do for the first two plots pretty boring.
