I wonder what happens if they die? Can you lead them around like you could in Fable?Do you get benefits for marrying a countess!?

From here you will be able to ask if someone is into you or not, note that not everyone has this option, from my playthrough my housecarl in Morthal is into you and Yaserf (sp?) in Whiterun digs you. Gonna have to wait for the patch to update the game or maybe just try again with a different character. Basically a dead companion appears in the room and destroys your marriage. I suppose this is alright if none of your companions die but I've had a bad habit of having them die on me.

Head to Riften (fast travel to the thieves guild entrance) and enter the Temple of Mara. 2. Chat up Maramal (ask for more info on the temple and then about marriage). If he's not there he'll be in the tavern in town; Bee and Barb. 3. Buy the Amulet of Mara from him. (200gp) 4. Exit the temple and fast travel to Whiterun. 5. Find Ysolda, talk to her about being interested and agree to marry. 6. Head back to the Temple of Mara and get married. 7. ???? 8. Profit.
