![]() | Comment #2 by Braddy J Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 12:02:12 AM It's a very good thing as both ME and DA are brilliant games. I'm kicking myself for not transferring my DA save files when I bought a new Xbox. Totally wiped clean my old HDD too damnit >_ |
![]() | Comment #3 by I Redbush I Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 01:27:46 AM how can that possibly not be a good thing? ME and DA are brilliant and this is just another addition to it all |
![]() | Comment #4 by el_pieablo Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 04:52:49 AM maybe it'll read your achievements and see you have beat DA:O? |
![]() | Comment #5 by fuelstaind Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 06:37:53 AM I just don't know WHAT would transfer over between the two games. At least with Mass Effect, you played the same character. |
![]() | Comment #6 by I Redbush I Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 07:23:14 AM My guess is that it has something to do with who you chose to side with during the main quests from DA:O. Say you come across the Brecilian Forest or Magi Tower, whoever you sided with will be populating that particular area...stuff like that is what i would think |
![]() | Comment #7 by LeeJ2512 Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 07:31:33 AM i read it wrong the first time i was like "oh fuck i have to get the first dragon age to get 1000 gamerscore??" lol then i read it again. im more than likely gna complete this game twice :) |
![]() | Comment #8 by InfiniteRefrain Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 08:28:38 AM LOL @7 OT: I just checked and I still have my old saves ..... *whew*; Although I doubt one play-through will be enough for this game anyway! |
![]() | Comment #9 by Deathr0t Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 12:05:00 PM I DONT HAVE MY SAVES ANYMORE, GODAMNIT... boycotting the game lol |
![]() | Comment #10 by Rastaman20 Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 02:48:11 PM its a great thing and maybe you will run into your character from the first game?? that would be pretty funny lol |
![]() | Comment #11 by Destromas Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 03:56:21 PM Crazy if you fight your Origins character. If there's no difficulty achievement, this is an easy 1000 too. |
![]() | Comment #12 by Lelupoliisi Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 05:28:28 PM I wondered that also, why not difficulty achievements? |
![]() | Comment #13 by FoolKiller Tuesday, February 08, 2011 @ 09:45:45 PM ack... stop talking about difficulty achievements. I hate it when these types of things pop up. I much prefer thoughtful achievements. |
![]() | Comment #14 by Kylearan Wednesday, February 09, 2011 @ 03:16:33 AM If I read correctly when it was released, the Witch Hunt DLC has some bearing on DA2. |
![]() | Comment #15 by Xander RO Wednesday, February 09, 2011 @ 09:02:28 AM "Completed Dragon Age II twice, or completed it once with a save imported from Dragon Age Origins." - 50G Great, it may also add an achievement for completing Half Life 2 and Hitman 1... I wonder why they didn't forced me to collect 5000 peaches in order to get 1000G... Sad thing... |
![]() | Comment #16 by solo07 Wednesday, February 09, 2011 @ 09:53:42 AM I was kind of hoping for a difficulty achievement to be honest. I liked the challenge of Amgarrak on Nightmare. |
![]() | Comment #17 by R0KETM4N Wednesday, February 09, 2011 @ 04:52:32 PM I hope you'll get a nice money/xp bonus for importing your character like you did in ME2, and maybe even a permanent XP bonus for subsequent playthroughs after getting this cheevo? |
![]() | Comment #18 by Rukishou Wednesday, February 09, 2011 @ 08:14:39 PM I just replayed and got what I'd consider a pretty perfect play (as for building my DA:O character, not to 100% everything in the game), but I can't remember for sure if I did that before or after my Xbox 360 finally succumbed to the Red Ring of Death... oh, the horror! D: If I have lost my saves due to RRoD (or any other reason for that matter), I will replay the game and all DLC. No matter how little actually changes from an import; even it's just as much as one single event from DA:O being referred to, depending on your choices in that game. Also, I'd be surprised if you didn't get some other sort of bonus or bonuses from importing a completed DA:O game save in Dragon Age II. |
![]() | Comment #19 by Xander RO Thursday, February 10, 2011 @ 12:53:11 AM You can't force or pretend a human to keep save games from a game played 1 year ago ON A CONSOLE THAT IS BURNING LIKE A STEAK ON A PAN!! I've changed 2 consoles since Dragon Age 1 wtf should I do with my save games put them in a bank in Switzerland??? |
![]() | Comment #20 by KingFire Monday, February 14, 2011 @ 03:25:42 PM @19 Atleast wouldn't have to pay a lot of tax!? ;) lol |
![]() | Comment #21 by x SoLiiTuDe Sunday, February 20, 2011 @ 01:40:03 AM Don't get your hopes up for completing the game with your old characters. I'm pretty sure that "the champion" in Dragon Age 2 is your new character. Garret Hawke. The only thing I can see the import is for is influencing which factions/characters thrived and/or suffered after the events of Dragon Age: Origins and Awakening. I kind of hope that Hawke is the child or grandchild of Morrigan (because that would mean he would have the blood of the old gods if you chose to do the ritual) since I think DA2 is supposed to take place 50 years after the events of DA:O if I'm not mistaken. |
![]() | Comment #22 by ShawnSig Tuesday, February 22, 2011 @ 11:31:40 AM Hmm, can't decide which character to import, my ugly human male, my ugly male dwarf or my ugly male elf. "Sweet Odin's Raven!" |
![]() | Comment #23 by Zexan Tuesday, February 22, 2011 @ 04:54:36 PM I like this achievement. It gives you reason to play through the first one, and hold onto the saves. Yes it does take up some memory, but not a whole lot. Get rid of all of the dlc, if you are so worried about space. This is a game that you would have to play through multiple times anyway, so it doesn't really matter if you beat it once with your DA:O file, because there is an achievement (I believe it's called Mass Exodus) where it says you need to go through and do something on multiple across multiple plays. I'm pretty sure,as people were saying, it has to do with the choices you've made in the first game. Just like in ME 2. Your choice about who to save in ME 1 affected that as well as your prior relationships to previous characters. |
![]() | Comment #24 by G3N0Unknown Tuesday, February 22, 2011 @ 09:44:24 PM Awesome sauce, I still have my save from the first time I saved ever. :P |
![]() | Comment #25 by G3N0Unknown Tuesday, February 22, 2011 @ 09:45:46 PM ^For some reason I typed something completely different in my mind, It was supposed to say "Awesome sauce, I still have my first save from the first day the game came out" |
![]() | Comment #26 by Benzboysl500 Wednesday, February 23, 2011 @ 01:59:17 PM DA II takes place at the same time. As DAO so your choice should influence the world as you pass those point in history since DA II takes place over 10 years or so. |
![]() | Comment #27 by FSparacino4 Wednesday, February 23, 2011 @ 11:25:09 PM If I'm reading the achievement correctly, all you need to do is beat Dragon Age 2 once on top of having a DA:O save. It doesn't matter if the save ftom Origins is complete or right at the start of the game. |
![]() | Comment #28 by ogmatt1 Monday, February 28, 2011 @ 08:40:07 PM I find it annoying that Bioware is copying so much from mass effect? I loved dragons age orgins for how original it was i hope they didn't ruin this game... |

![]() | Comment #31 by MalevolentAgony Saturday, March 05, 2011 @ 07:26:50 PM Meh I'm just super excited at the improvements I saw in the rogue class from the demo. |
![]() | Comment #32 by wermax Monday, March 07, 2011 @ 05:49:08 AM I know this is off topic, but how the hell does CthulhuCalamari already have the game |
![]() | Comment #33 by elsnoggler Tuesday, March 08, 2011 @ 12:17:02 AM # 21 - if you played the demo, at the least, you'd know that you're idea about the timeline is incorrect. Very minor spoiler alert following this lengthy and probably rather pointless run-on sentence. Hawke and co. flee Lothering when the Darkspawn are laying waste to it, which happens in the DA:O timeline whenever you complete your first leg of the main quest, so he/she isn't the spawn of Morrigan. |
![]() | Comment #34 by SmellyLambo Tuesday, March 08, 2011 @ 05:18:43 PM #32 because it came out today |
![]() | Comment #35 by MoraleStopsHere Thursday, March 10, 2011 @ 04:40:49 AM Can anyone confirm that to get this achievement, you must have completed DA Origins? Reading it, all it asks for is a save imported from Origins. Wondering if anyone has had any luck. |
![]() | Comment #36 by JohnVIII32 Thursday, March 10, 2011 @ 03:40:22 PM @32, no, you do not have to complete DAO, you can import from any DAO save from what I saw when I did my import, there were 30+ to select from including Witch Hunt or just the basic game. |
![]() | Comment #37 by danny27579 Friday, March 11, 2011 @ 04:12:59 AM #35 the only thing that changes if you import your save from a completed game instead of from a incompleted game is the armor you get from the dlc dark emporium |
![]() | Comment #38 by wv1992 Friday, March 11, 2011 @ 08:57:57 AM Hello i got a question. i finished the game with the mage now en started another game with the warrior but i didn't like him so i've started another game but now with the rogue so that that a third story line. does the achievement only count for the first two story lines(mage & warrior) or can i just finish the rogue storyline and stil get the epic achievement. |
![]() | Comment #39 by MCFC Blue Nose Friday, March 11, 2011 @ 04:02:17 PM More games should have achievements like this, If you have a big enough hard drive you can keep most of your saves if not all of them, going off topic but can't wait for Mass Effect 3, too many games not enough time lol |
![]() | Comment #40 by danny27579 Saturday, March 12, 2011 @ 03:27:04 AM #38 you can still play as the rogue and it get it doesn't have to be the first two just two and #39 i cant wait either |
![]() | Comment #41 by wv1992 Saturday, March 12, 2011 @ 04:37:10 PM hello after 30 hours of playing dragen age 2 i finished the game with the mage and the rogue. but i didn't get the epic achievement????? like i asked before #38 my second storyline is with a warrior so must i finish that one to get the achievement???? |
![]() | Comment #42 by spiral_fishcake Tuesday, March 15, 2011 @ 12:50:37 AM ***Spoilers*** Importing your save affects lots of events in DA2. None of the characters from origins are playable, though Anders from Awakening is. In my imported save, for instance, Leliana (I think she's in it regardless), Zevren, and Alistair (as king) all made appearances. Those were the characters who spent the most time in my party in DA:O Since I have to play through a second time anyway to get all achievements, I'm going to NOT import just to see what happens. The events importing influences changes dialogs in the game, as characters refer to events in Fereldan frequently, though I doubt there are significant changes to the story if you do not import. In other words, in order to maintain 100% continuity, your decisions in the first game have to be acco |
![]() | Comment #43 by trueR0under Tuesday, March 15, 2011 @ 10:13:02 PM This achievement appears to be bugged. I just finished DA2 for the 2nd time with a new character and didn't get the achievement after the credits. |
![]() | Comment #44 by JimmyScene69 Wednesday, March 16, 2011 @ 03:09:27 PM ...when you import saves it influences a noticable amount... a lot more than in Mass effect, it also provides you with alternate options for what you want to happen in the storyline if anyone actaully bothered reading them. e.g ruthless noble dwarf as the grey warden, or a dalish elf, etc. Doesn't 'import' charactors like in Mass effect... just the storyline. Most would know that if they listened to a review or two and p |
![]() | Comment #45 by TheAshcat Thursday, March 17, 2011 @ 05:36:00 AM I don't get why people are making sucha big deal out of this. If you want all achievements you will have to play the game multiple times anyway. Almost done with my second run now and the game is very different because of the other class/choices I'm making. |
![]() | Comment #46 by The Master JCL Friday, March 18, 2011 @ 05:51:23 PM to comment 26 the blight in origins lasted two years and this game takes place over 10 years :P |
![]() | Comment #47 by The Master JCL Friday, March 18, 2011 @ 05:52:33 PM for comment 43 i have the same problem |
![]() | Comment #48 by SteveMurch87 Saturday, March 19, 2011 @ 07:32:09 AM @ comment 42... Don't forget Nathaniel Howe :D |
![]() | Comment #49 by SteveMurch87 Saturday, March 19, 2011 @ 07:33:27 AM And I suppose justice goes hand in hand with anders |
![]() | Comment #50 by bbogos01 Saturday, March 19, 2011 @ 01:40:59 PM #45 that is absolutely not true. You can get every achievement(except epic) in one playthrough. What you have to do is know when and where to save your game. Once you get an achievement, load up a previous save and go after a different one (the mage hunter/arcane defender achievements for example). For an in-depth guide on how to do this, go to the DA:2 forums on this site and look at the "Achievement guide and roadmap" by FSparacino4. For the Epic achievement you just need to create three seperate characters in each class and then play each character until u get to Kirkwall. |
![]() | Comment #51 by Scarab83 Friday, March 25, 2011 @ 03:42:36 PM @#50 Wrong. That's a different achievement. The "Epic" achievement requires you to complete two playthroughs, or one playthrough with a DA:O save import. Unfortunately, my achievement didn't unlock, even with two full playthroughs. |
![]() | Comment #52 by DarkMellow Saturday, March 26, 2011 @ 02:33:36 PM has this been patched yet? |
![]() | Comment #53 by Xander RO Wednesday, March 30, 2011 @ 07:27:44 AM Great, too bad that my old fried Falcon didn't knew that :( |
![]() | Comment #54 by Plutonicjoker69 Friday, April 01, 2011 @ 12:46:00 AM I'm having a bit of a problem, as i finished my 2nd run through for epic achievement, beat everything i was suppose to but after the credits no achievement. I even logged back onto the xbox live because i was offline when i beat it so i thought i had to be online. still nothing. Then after i thought i might have to be on dragon age servers so i beat it again. still nothing. Any kind of help would be appreciated. |
![]() | Comment #55 by MWJSCK Monday, April 04, 2011 @ 08:49:54 PM It's still bugged.. |
![]() | Comment #56 by Atomic Gally Tuesday, April 05, 2011 @ 03:57:17 PM i have completed dragon age 2 twice and both from saves from origins and i still do not have the achievement is it bugged or something |
![]() | Comment #57 by Sleeper Cell 01 Monday, April 11, 2011 @ 01:34:43 AM TThis one is still bugged. I just gt my cheevos for the exiled prince now that those are fixed, but still this one hasn't been fixed yet. |
![]() | Comment #58 by HowManyBullets Monday, April 18, 2011 @ 05:01:52 PM Just got it. Played only the origins story at da:o, took about 15min. Although I have completed it, but didn't have saves anymore. |
![]() | Comment #59 by Sevish420 Tuesday, April 19, 2011 @ 10:55:14 AM Im on my third play through of this game and didnt get the Epic achievement yet...do I HAVE to have content from DA:O? Or should I have gotten the it for the second play through? |
![]() | Comment #60 by Jaxson 66 Wednesday, April 20, 2011 @ 02:01:58 AM I just completed my 2nd play through and it didn't pop (neither did Romance). I'll try to import this next time. |
![]() | Comment #61 by alklein35 Thursday, April 21, 2011 @ 11:56:23 AM I, and my friends, got this using imported DA:O saves. It seems to be bugged only on the "beat it twice" method. If you have DA:O, import a save, if not then I say bug the f*** out of BioWare till try fix it. |
![]() | Comment #62 by Fifty One and 2 Tuesday, May 03, 2011 @ 05:52:50 PM I recently finished my second run through. Still no achievement. Had a rogue class and warrior class. I went back and made another save "post campaign", but nothing. With this and the glitched crafting resources, I'm short 75 GS. Balls. |
![]() | Comment #63 by JaneLoco Thursday, May 12, 2011 @ 05:27:17 PM 3 play throughs and still nada. I guess I will just have to import a character for my next play through. As stated previously....Balls. |
![]() | Comment #64 by Bachlott Saturday, May 14, 2011 @ 09:47:34 PM Bioware knows of the issue and it's scheduled to be fixed with the next version update. They said you'll just have to redo the last boss fight as long as you have a save right before it. |
![]() | Comment #65 by iMikeyR Tuesday, May 24, 2011 @ 02:04:25 AM Hope this gets fixed soon. |
![]() | Comment #66 by Bachlott Tuesday, May 31, 2011 @ 07:10:18 PM The 1.02 patch for the 360 has fixed the issue so you can now get it without having to import a save from Origins. |
![]() | Comment #67 by WarCupcakes Friday, June 24, 2011 @ 09:03:53 PM YEA!! |
![]() | Comment #68 by mei Tuesday, June 28, 2011 @ 01:17:48 PM importing the DAO does nothing except minorly affecting the storyline.it is not like mass effect where you are actually importing your character. |
![]() | Comment #69 by xxtheeglovexx Thursday, July 07, 2011 @ 09:52:50 PM this achievement sux |
![]() | Comment #70 by maitai121 Thursday, July 21, 2011 @ 02:45:15 AM I imported an incomplete origins file and it didnt give me the achievement. So I dont know if its just me but its annoying. There lucky I dont mind replaying the game. LOL |
![]() | Comment #71 by area65 Wednesday, August 17, 2011 @ 03:51:53 PM Happy to say the patch works - finished it twice, didn't get it; patched it, then loaded the autosave before the final fight and "pop goes the cheevo". |
![]() | Comment #72 by Zombiedrd Sunday, September 18, 2011 @ 04:28:07 PM You are lucky 71. I did the same and no cheevo. Guess I have to play through this again |
![]() | Comment #73 by bettawithtoast Saturday, September 24, 2011 @ 03:24:35 AM I think this cheevo is really good. It gives returning players leverage while not completely screwing new one's. Games need more one's like this instead of those dreadful online one's where 75% of people who actually get them only got them from boosting. |
![]() | Comment #74 by Th3 B14ck W01f Thursday, January 05, 2012 @ 05:10:39 AM I like this achievement, with three classes, and different ways to play each class, you get a different experience so long as you don't do the same thing twice. Once for the game play, once for the achievements. |
