Introduction:
DJ Hero has 50 achievements for 1000. To unlock them all you will need to be able to five star everything on Expert Difficulty. Because achievements are stackable you only need to do an Expert playthough, except that, being the first DJ Hero game, it is unlikely that you’ll be able to pick up and start with Expert. If you have experience with music games I suggest starting on medium. If you want to start on Expert go to the “Expert Career” section.

Career on Hard or below:
First thing you’ll want to do is complete the tutorials. Do so to unlock Graduation. After that start with the setlist “Scratching the Surface” and keep moving along to the right. Even if you’re having difficulty five starring the songs I suggest that, as long as you continue to unlock more venues, keep moving on and come back to five star the songs later. The learning curve for this game is set nicely so as you move through career you WILL get better, and then going back to the earlier songs to five star them will be cake. Assuming you’ve five starred your medium career you will have likely unlocked all of the following:

My First Set, The Full Set, Super Scratchin’, Harsh Fader, Special Effects!, Good Times, Multiplier Madness, REEEWIINNNNDD!!!, New Jack, The Gift of Music, All Over the World, Five in Ten, Four in Twenty, Five in Twenty, The Grandmaster!, Spin Back King, Walk-in Wardrobe, The Vinyl Cut, DJ Shadow Presents…, Bonus Bangers, Here Comes the Hot Starter!

Expert Career:
If you are starting on Expert you’ll have to play through the game through the setlists, otherwise you’ll now want to be playing through the Quicklist. Expert difficulty is more or less the same as Hard difficulty except that almost all scratches will be directional, so if you’re having troubles try Hard. When you’ve got that down all you’ve got to do to complete the game is five star every song. This will take time and practice but you should get it eventually. Watch out for Groundhog, Rockit, and Beats and Pieces (all three are very high intensity) which will likely be the last three songs you five star on any difficulty. Once you’ve five starred Expert career you will have unlocked:

All of the achievements listed above if you started with Expert

Freestyle DJ, No Mistakes Allowed, Tap King, Fantastic Fader, Superstar DJ, Four Star,
Five Star, My 50 Pence, Tonight We DJ in Hell!, 200 Deep, Legendary Status, 360 Degrees, 720 Degrees, Turntable Perfection, Euphoria DJ, Euphoric Hoarder, The Choice is Yours.

Online:
The online achievements in this game are very easy. Host and complete a quicklist to unlock both Headliner and The New Style, join and complete three to unlock Supporting Act, win ten (10) sets (not songs) to unlock Win Online, and if you don’t have it already you’ll unlock Hello World for completing a song while connected to Live. If you're having trouble winning check out the achievement trading thread.

Extra equipment and wrap-up:
Two turntables: Complete a local game of DJ vs DJ to unlock Double Trouble

Turntable and guitar: Complete one of the songs that supports guitar play to unlock Guitar and DJ and The Power of Two.

Turntable and microphone: Complete a song with the microphone plugged in to unlock Shout Out.

Finally, if you don’t have it already play a song with the Ghetto Blaster Deck to unlock Master Blaster and watch the credits to unlock Props!

Conclusion:
You should now have all 50 achievements for 1000. If that’s the case give yourself a pat on the back and rest up for the sequel.

There are 50 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Complete a setlist on any difficulty setting.

Once you have completed the tutorial, start up the Scratching the Surface set list and play all three songs. Once you have finished and returned to the menu you should get the achievement.
  • Complete all mixes at any difficulty setting.

You need to complete every song in the game. This includes bonus mixes that unlock during the specific DJ set lists when you get at least three stars in all songs listed in that mix. This is done easiest just by progressing through the game making sure that you complete every set list as they unlock and making sure to get three stars to unlock bonus mixes.
  • Successfully perform 10,000 scratches.

This should come by just playing through the game, unlocking things, and working on achievements. If you are still having trouble getting it try playing songs with lots of scratching like Bits and Pieces by Scratch Perverts.
  • Successfully perform 5,000 crossfader moves.

Once again this should come by just playing through the game. If it has not, you can try songs with lots of crossfader moves like Noisia Groundhog mix by Scratch Perverts
  • Trigger every Effects Zone and every Freestyle Sample Zone in any mix on hard difficulty or above.

To unlock this you must hit the red button at least once during every sampler freestyle section (this is the semi transparent long sections that will occasionally run along the red track) and twist the effects dial during every Effects Zone (this is when one or all three tracks will have a semi circle over the top of them on the hit zone and the track is slightly larger than usual) while playing on hard or expert. I found this easiest done in the first song in the Scratching the Surface set list. The song is Bobby "Blue" Bland/Connie Price & The Keystones. Doing this will also unlock the Special Effects achievement.
  • Turn the effects dial during every Effects Zone in any mix at any difficulty (not in the tutorial).

    See Freestyle DJ.
  • Successfully perform all scratches in any mix on hard difficulty or above.

To do this you must scratch perfectly on all scratches in a song while playing on hard. The Masta Ace/Jean Knight song from the Scratching the Surface set is pretty easy for this as it has very few scratches and only about eight of them are directional scratches (ones where you must scratch in a certain direction). It is also possible to get this achievement, Tap King, Fantastic Fader, Superstar DJ, and Four Stars all in one song as long as you get 100% on the song.
  • Successfully press the platter button(s) for all tap icons in any mix on hard difficulty or above.

    (3)
Just like No Mistakes Allowed except this time you have to make sure to hit all the taps perfectly. Once again the Masta Ace/Jean Knight song in the Scratching the surface set list is easy for doing this but really any of the songs from that set list will be good for this achievement.
  • Successfully perform all crossfades and crossfade spikes in any mix on hard difficulty or above.

Same as Tap King and No Mistakes Allowed. Make sure that you hit every crossfader move perfectly while playing on hard or expert. Any songs from the Scratching the Surface set list will be good for this as they are all very low intensity and have very little actions.
  • Get a 100% Hits in any mix on hard difficulty or above.

    (2)
All you have to do is Full Combo a song on hard. That is hitting all taps, scratches, and crossfader moves in a single song. Any of the songs from the Scratching the Surface set list are great for this. They are all low intensity and have very little actions to them.
  • Earn 10 stars by playing any of the mixes in the Grandmaster Flash Presents setlist.

There are three songs and 15 available stars in the Grandmaster Flash setlist. All you have to do is perform the songs well enough to earn at least 10 stars across all three songs. This can be done on any difficulty so if you are having trouble, try lowering the difficulty a level.
  • Achieve an 8X multiplier during any mix (not in the tutorial).

To obtain this achievement you have to get your multiplier up to 8. To do this, you must do two things. First, you have to make sure to earn at least one chunk of Euphoria. This is done by completing all the actions in the glowing sections of a song. Once you have that, just make sure you get your multiplier up to four by completing around 25 actions in a row. Once you have both, just hit your Euphoria button (the round button to the left of the effects knob that should be lit up) and you have it.
  • Perform 4 rewinds without missing any icons in any mix on any difficulty.

You earn rewinds by performing well in a song. You will know you have one by the text that will come across the screen when you earn one as well as the flashing rewind icon (two small arrows pointing left) above your multiplier on the right side of the streams. To get this, you need to earn and use four in a single song while not missing any icons. Make sure you do it during an easy part so you can get every action. Just make sure to use the rewinds as soon as you can after earning them so you don't run out of time. I found it easy to do on the Masta Ace/Jean Knight song in the Scratching the Surface setlist.
  • Complete the tutorial Learn to DJ - Advanced Techniques.

All you have to do is complete all the sections of the Advanced Techniques Tutorial. It is the second tutorial so you'll either need to select it from the main menu or from the ending menu of the first tutorial section.
  • Complete a 2 player one on one local game (DJ v DJ only).

You and a friend must be on the same Xbox and both have the DJ Hero Turntable controller to get this. Just sync both controllers to the Xbox, select a song or setlist, make sure your friend joins after you've selected the song or setlist and finish the song or setlist.
  • Join and complete 3 online games.

You have to join (not host) and finish three online games. Simply go to the Xbox Live section and look for a match (not create). Finish the song or setlist on all three and you'll unlock the achievement. If the other player quits it will not count.
  • Host and complete an online game.

Just go to the Xbox Live menu and select Create Game. Once it has found an opponent, play the song or setlist and when you've finished you'll get the achievement. To get it quicker, choose Quicklist rather than a full setlist and play just one song. If the other player quits you will not get this achievement.
  • Win 10 online games.

Simply win 10 online games. It doesn't matter if you are host or not. To get it quickly, create an Xbox Live game, select Quicklist and play just one song. Make sure the song you pick is one you have mastered and you are sure you can win. If the other player quits it will not count as a win.
  • Complete your first mix (not in the tutorial).

Once you've finished the tutorial, go to the Scratching the Surface set list and start. Once you've finished the first song of the setlist this achievement should pop up.
  • Earn 4 stars in any mix on hard difficulty.

Pretty self explanatory here. Just pick a song and play it on hard and make sure to get four stars on it. Any of the songs from the Scratching the Surface setlist will work easily for this.
  • Earn 5 stars in any mix on expert difficulty.

Exactly like the Four Star achievement except this time you must play a song on expert and get five stars. As long as you use one of the songs from the Scratching the Surface setlist you should have no problem obtaining this.
  • Unlock a bonus mix on any set list (where available).

To get this you must play one of the DJ presents setlists (i.e. DJ Shadow Presents) and get at least 3 stars on all the songs. Once you've finished the songs, rather than having the option to go back to the main menu, you will see an option that says "Play Bonus Beat." Play that song and you got it.
  • Have your score posted to the online leaderboard.

Pretty easy here. Just be connected to Xbox Live and finish at least one song. It will automatically post your score to the leaderboard.
  • Attain a 50 streak in any mix on hard difficulty or above using a DJ Hero™ Turntable Controller.

See Tonight We DJ in Hell!
  • Attain a 300 streak in any mix on expert difficulty using a DJ Hero™ Turntable Controller.

    (1)
This may sound hard but with some practice it's actually pretty easy. You just need to successfully hit 300 actions in a row while playing on expert with the DJ controller (not the guitar). I found that the Masta Ace/Jean Knight song in the Scratching the Surface setlist to be the easiest as it has just a little over three hundred actions and the song is not too difficult. Just keep practicing it till you get it.
  • Attain a 200 streak in any mix on hard difficulty or above using a DJ Hero™ Turntable Controller.

See Tonight We DJ in Hell!
  • Complete a mix in every venue.

As you play the game you will unlock new venues. To make sure you get this, each time you unlock a new venue, you should play the next setlist in it. There are a total of nine venues in the game.
  • Earn 5 stars in any 10 mixes on medium difficulty or above.

    See Five in Twenty
  • Earn 4 Stars in any 20 mixes on medium difficulty or above.

    See Five in Twenty
  • Earn 5 Stars in any 20 mixes on medium difficulty or above.

Another self explanatory achievement. You must simply get five stars in twenty individual songs on at least medium difficulty. You can naturally get this while playing through the game to unlock everything. If not, just go back and replay songs you have not yet five starred.
  • Watch the entire credits.

Pretty easy here. From the main menu, press the button to get to the options menu, scroll to the bottom, and select credits. Once the credits have played all the way through, you will get this achievement.
  • Earn 5 stars in every mix on hard difficulty or above.

    See Turntable Perfection
  • Earn 5 stars in every mix on medium difficulty or above.

    (2)
    See Turntable Perfection
  • Perform a 360 degree rewind in any mix without missing any icons on hard or expert difficulty.

    See 720 Degrees
  • Perform a 720 degree rewind in any mix without missing any icons on expert difficulty.

Once you have performed well enough in a song to earn a rewind, you will be able to go for both the 360 Degrees and 720 Degrees achievements. You have to spin the turntable portion of the controller backwards at least two full spins before stopping it. Then you must hit all the actions that are being re-done for the rewind. The faster you spin the record backwards the easier this will be to get. The songs in the Scratching the Surface setlist are pretty good for this as they are not that difficult on expert and have plenty of space in the songs to do this.
  • Construct and play all the mixes of a quicklist online with another player.

Go to the Xbox Live section and choose create game. When it asks you what setlist you would like to play, make sure to choose Quicklist. Then search for an opponent. Once you have one you will be able to pick what songs to play. To make this faster, just choose one single song. Once the song is complete you will get this. If the other player quits it will not count.
  • Play the Guitar DJ mode with one player as the DJ and the other as the Guitarist.

You can do this by either having a friend play the guitar or you can just sign the guitar into a second profile and play the song on the DJ controller only. Since the game is no fail, it will not matter that no guitar notes are hit. Once the song is complete, the achievement will unlock.
  • Perform 20 rewinds.

To do this, just make sure to use all the rewinds (by spinning the record portion of the controller backwards) you get while playing the game. You earn rewinds by performing well and having a multiplier of over four on a song. You can earn up to four and five rewinds in one song, so just keep playing songs until it unlocks.
  • Complete any 10 mixes in 10 different outfits.

To get this you must play with 10 songs or sets with 10 different characters or costumes. You will unlock more characters and costumes as you progress through the game. The easiest way to get this is just to switch characters and costumes as you unlock them for each setlist.
  • Earn 20 stars by playing any of the mixes in The Vinyl Cut setlist.

The Vinyl Cut is the final setlist in the game. It starts out with four songs and has one bonus song (unlocked by getting at least three stars on all four previous songs). This gives you a possible 25 stars for the whole setlist. Simply earn a total of 20 stars across all five songs. It can be done on any difficulty so if you are having trouble just lower the difficulty a level.
  • Earn 15 stars by playing any of the mixes in the DJ Shadow Presents setlist.

The DJ Shadow Presents set list has a total of four songs, three to start out with and one bonus you must unlock like Vinyl Cut one. All you have to do is get 15 of the 20 possible stars in this setlist. Once again, this can be done on any difficulty so if you're having trouble just lower the difficulty a level.
  • Unlock all available bonus mixes from all setlists.

There are roughly six or seven bonus mixes in the game. They are located in the final setlist (The Vinyl Cut) and the DJ Presents setlists (i.e. DJ Shadow Presents, DJ Z-Trip Presents, etc.). To unlock them you must get at least three stars on all the songs in the setlist. If you miss unlocking one you will see at the main menu that specific setlist will say you have not completed one song in it. For example it will say "3/4 completed." Just go back to that setlist and make sure you have three starred all the songs.
  • Earn 5 stars in every mix on expert difficulty.

    (7)
To earn this you must earn five stars on every song in the game. This includes Bonus Beats, normal songs, and Guitar/DJ mixes. This is going to take a lot of practice for most players to achieve this. You can see what songs you need stars on by going to the Quicklist and either looking on the right side while hovering over a song or sorting the Quicklist (done by pressing ) by stars needed. Just remember, practice, practice, practice.
  • Earn 50 Hot Starts in any complete mixes.

You get a Hot Start when you hit the first 15 actions in a song perfectly. Do this on 50 of the songs to unlock the achievement. Most songs have a pretty easy beginning so this shouldn't be too hard. You can also do this on any difficulty you choose so if you are having trouble just lower the difficulty a level.
  • Complete any mix using a microphone in a single player game.

To get this you must have a USB microphone (the Xbox Live headset will not work). Just plug it in before you play a song (the game will automatically recognize it) and play the song. You don't have to actually use the microphone if you don't want to. The achievement will unlock once you finished the song.
  • Complete all the Perfect Regions and activate Euphoria in any mix on hard difficulty or above.

Quite simple, just earn at least one chunk of Euphoria by hitting all the glowing actions perfectly on a song while playing on at least hard. Once you earn it (shown by the text that will come across the screen saying Euphoria Earned and the bar on the left side of the streams), just push your lit up Euphoria button next to the effects dial. Easily done on any of the songs in the Scratching the Surface setlist.
  • Complete all the Perfect Regions in any mix on hard difficulty or above, without using Euphoria.

To unlock this achievement you must play a song on at least hard and earn all the Euphoria possible by hitting all the glowing actions in the song perfectly and not use any of it. Basically perfect the euphoria sections and never push the euphoria button. Once again, this is pretty easy if you use one of the songs from Scratching the Surface setlist.
  • Both players activate Euphoria and Star Power simultaneously in Guitar DJ Mode.

    (1)
There are two ways to do this. You can have a friend play guitar and once you have earned euphoria and they have earned star power on the guitar, you both activate it. You can also do it by yourself by syncing up a guitar and signing it into a second profile. Play the first part of the song on your DJ controller until you have earned some Euphoria, then switch and play the guitar until you earn star power. Then tilt your guitar up (just like in Guitar Hero) and push the Euphoria button on your DJ controller. Since the whole game is no fail, it won't affect that you are missing notes/actions on one of the controllers. Simply finish the song to unlock the achievement.
  • Play an 8 mix custom setlist on medium difficulty or above and get at least 3 stars on all mixes.

There are two setlists on the main menu that say "Custom DJ Setlist 1" & "Custom DJ Setlist 2" where you can select up to eight tracks to play in a row. Simply choose one of those and pick which songs to play, then play all of them. To make it faster, you can choose just one song to play.
  • Complete a setlist using the Ghetto Blaster deck.

Once you have five starred all the songs on any difficulty, you will unlock the last thing in the game and that is the Ghetto Blaster deck. To unlock the achievement simply pick a song or setlist to play and then change your deck in the character customization screen to the Ghetto Blaster and play the song/setlist. The achievement will unlock once you have finished.
