|Demon Slayer (Hardcore)||25|
|Reach level 30 in Hardcore mode.|
This halfway point in leveling can be quite difficult for new players, although the addition of an Easy mode makes this achievement considerably less imposing than the PC alternative. When creating a new character, be sure to tap to get the Hardcore prompt, and switch that character to Hardcore mode. In Hardcore mode, if you die, you die permanently and you must start a new character. Be as thorough as possible in your leveling, to gain as many levels as possible prior to progressing to the next area, and always be sure to keep a finger on to roll out of combat.

One of the harder achievements for the less careful.

@4, exactly. Just be careful and this one won't be an issue. If you're truly concerned you can keep grinding easier parts of the game. It'll get you the xp needed to reach 30, but it'll be awfully boring.

So do all enemies oneshot you, or is it high damage received, low damage delivered?

He is asking if the gameplay is different then normal mode which the answer is no. The only difference is that if you die, you have to start a new character.

@7: Clearly I was asking about the achievement and the potential differences Hardcore mode may bring. And now I know that isn't the case.
@8: thank you.

The difficulty of this achievement went out the window the moment they gave you the option to copy saves to a USB stick.

All characters and saves and tied to your profile though, they're not separate. You'll need to back up your save every time one of your characters levels up, or gets a decent item, otherwise a backup save will overwrite everything, not just your HC character that just died... ;)

Can't you just play hardcore on easy or normal?

There is no easy, just normal should be enough to get to lvl 30.

Already in D2 Hardcore characters were only playable online, meaning no local savegame. Is this going to change on the XBox?

Play Normal Hardcore up to the final boss and it'll pop (possibly earlier).
Just take your time and use a lot of vitality gear + crowd control/escape skills.
Probably easiest done as a Witch Hunter.
Everyone can get this by playing it safe.

#11: It is actually not that easy as you can't copy the profile, merely move it.
That means you would need to move it, use PC software to copy it and then move it back every time.

Currently on lvl 12 going for this achievement. Some tips: Try only to play when you are focussed. (I just vary playing my normal character and sometimes HC for a chapter or two). Also, you can replay previous missions and lvl/gear a bit up for the next missions.

imo best way to get this achievement is play a witch doctor, and soon as you get your zombie dogs send them in as tanks and spam leaping spiders to keep ememys away... also after a few quests templr will join your party presumably your playing on solo and he will always dash into groups of enemy's and they will be targeted on him , just be weary of a spell an ememy casts its like big flame ball and it explodes causing insane damage so make sure to roll out the way quickly

Wizard all the way. Powerful multi target ranged attack. Ranged continuous freeze ray. Ice armor that automatically freezes anything that touches you. A force burst that pushes back any enemies surrounding you and stuns them. An orb that slows down time for any enemy caught inside. All this on my first time playing through this game and my first time using the Wizard class. I usually dont play magic users in any game ever but a friend of mine told me to try it out and it dominates. Im already level 18 and half way through Act II and I have not used a single health potion yet. Not saying this is "easy" by any means you definitely need to pay attention and play smart but it is very doable.

Starting Hardcore today. I will be playing as a Monster Hunter. Would like to get this cheevo today. Will be on shortly. Would love a full party to grind with. Also note that if your hardcore guy is killed anything in stash stays for the next character and you also keep your gold.

Add me, Floydian(space)x(space)Slip. Will be doing it in the future, would be nice to have people with like-minded goals; I have chosen to be a Wizard for this but am open to suggestions if a party is to be made.

I honestly can't see how this is hard. I understand the risk, but on my first playthrough on a normal playthrough, I died once, on the first chapter as I didn't realise a particular enemy type had a certain fire attack and I wandered into it and died before I realized. With that knowledge to hand I've avoided it every time since and since then I've only died once more with that character because I wasn't paying attention.
As long as people aren't jumping straight into this without playing the game normally first, there really isn't any difficulty here. Level 30 is easily achievable before the end of the first playthrough and the game really isn't that hard.
If you ARE struggling though, my best advice is to load up on health regen equipment. Life per second is best, Life per hit nex

Started a Barbarian character on HC mode and actually not that difficult so far, already at level 10 and still in act 1.

I have a general idea on how I want to do this, but what would be the best way to find/create life per second/life per hit equipment? Is there any trick to finding specific types of magic ability on armor?
