Introduction:
Welcome to Bug Village! This game has a total of 7 achievements for a total of 200 and it is FREE. If you’re wondering what Bug Village is, the best way to describe it would be a copy of FarmVille. The game consists of building homes for your Ants and Bees while keeping junk piles for your ants to scavenge and flowers for your bees to collect nectar from. For each flower or junk pile you complete, you will gain acorns. Acorns are your form of currency in this game; it is what you use to restock junk piles, buy food to keep your insects working, buy decorations, and to build more homes to obtain more workers. Each task in this game takes anywhere from 5 minutes all the way up to 48 hours. The more time a task takes, the more acorns you will obtain. The game will run in the background while you wait for these tasks to be completed. Unfortunately, Bug Village is buggy in more ways than one; it has a number of glitches that you should be aware of before playing this game. These glitches can cause achievements to not unlock when they should (like "Ding!" for example), not make pests appear (thus not letting you get achievements like "Lady Helper" and "Air Freshener" without starting over), game crashes and more! Glu Mobile has released a patch, but the issues have still happened afterward.
Step 1: Building Your Village
The game will start off with a tutorial on how to play the game and will help you start your village. Tap your bug 25 times, and then start saving up acorns so you can feed your bugs, build more houses and more piles and flowers. Once you have at least 2,000 extra acorns to spare, go into the shop and buy 50 Small Fence. Place them wherever you would like, but make sure you remove them after the "Great Decorator" achievement unlocks to avoid some glitches. See the "Deleting Items" section of this roadmap for more information on this. Keep building homes until you have 20 bugs living in your village, and then start concentrating on saving acorns. The achievements you will obtain in this step are:
- Bug Breeder
- Bug Tapper
- Great Decorator
Step 2: Ladybugs and Stinky Bugs
This step should be done while working on Step 1 (and Step 3). You will have have to take care of Ladybugs and Stinky Bugs 100 times. Sadly, both of these achievement have glitches associated with them. The Stinky Bugs may make you auto-quit your game if you have hit 100 or crash your game. For some reason, both types of bugs may stop appearing in your game. If this happens to you, first check everything in your village closely and move items to see if they are hidden. View this thread for more information on checking your village. If you do not see any while searching and they stop appearing entirely, you will eventually have to start over. Please see Step 4 for more information on starting over. The achievements that should be completed in this step (if they do not glitch) are:
- Lady Helper
- Air Freshener
Step 3: Saving Acorns and Playing the Game
Now, it is time to save as many acorns as possible and just keep playing the game. You will need to save 300,000 acorns at once which can be very time consuming and boring. Just keep playing until you finally get enough acorns and aim to reach Level 25 in the process for the "Ding!" achievement. Note that this achievement may unlock earlier or later than Level 25, so just keep playing until the achievement finally unlocks. The achievements obtained in this step are:
- Acorn Ace
- Ding!
If you did not have the glitch issues present earlier in Step 2, congratulations on your new completion! If you were unfortunate enough to have glitches, see the next step explaining what you should do.
Step 4: Retry Step 2 with Time Glitch (If the achievements glitched on you)
This step is for those who could not get the Ladybugs and/or Stinky Bugs to appear or had other issues with those bugs. Make sure you have finished all other achievements before doing this step since you will lose all progress you currently have in the game. When you are ready, remove the game from your phone, and re-install it. Now, go into the game and finish the tutorial. Once you finish that and take care of the Ladybug and Stinky Bug in your village, exit out of your game. You will be performing a Time Glitch to make sure that both bugs appear when they are supposed to. Please view this thread to see exactly what must be done to get these achievements without the glitch. Make sure that your phone is not set at a future date when these achievements unlock! If you unlock them with your phone set in the future, you will not get the achievement until the future date.
Deleting Items:
You may need to delete items after achieving “Great Decorator” as it, or if you have too many items on the map at one time, will cause the game to glitch. One result of having too many items on the map is that you will get random black screens. To stop this from happening, open up the tap for the item you would like to delete. To delete an item, open the decorations tab, then click on a decoration that is on the map. A purple box will be above it, and clicking the box will delete the item. Be aware that doing this will not give you acorns that were spent back.
Time Glitch:
Some tasks in this game can take many hours, or even a few days, to complete; a way around this is the time glitch. To do this, once you have started a task click the “Windows/Home” button. This allows the game to run in the background. Now go to “Settings” > “Date+Time”. If “Set automatically" is turned ON, set it to OFF. From here, you will see: Time Zone, Date, and Time. Click “Time” and set the hours ahead the same amount of hours that the task or tasks take. Now go to the Xbox Live tab and pick Big Village. If you just click the back button and do not go through the Xbox Live tab, the glitch will not work properly. Make sure that you do not unlock achievements at a future date because you will not be able to get that achievement until that future date occurs.
Conclusion:
Bug Village will take you at least a month to complete if you play it legit. You can use the time glitch to vastly improve the speed of the game, just be careful of the time on your phone before you unlock achievements. The game is an extremely easy and free completion, so there should not be any difficulty unless you come across a glitch. Even though the game is very glitchy, and some glitches affect achievements, you should still be able to complete the game. The full 200 is obtainable and easy to get if willing to invest time.
