  • How to unlock The Collector

This is similar to Brains from the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned. You aren't required to collect as many brains though. This is very similar in the way that if you have the required amount for the quest, any more you pick up will be voided out. You have to collect components from Clap-Traps that you kill. These consist of: Wires, Motherboards and Gears. These don't drop all the time, but they will drop frequently enough. There are four parts to the quest. Here is the amount required per quest.

    1: 42 components
    2: 75 components
    3: 100 components
    4: 150 components

  • Comes in 4 missions. First one is to find 6 items lying around, the last 3 are all collecting parts (a la brains missions from ZI) dropped from claptraps, 42, then 75, then 250. Should complete this easily while just working your way through once.)
  • Best to star this one once you get into the area.
  • Zene Kakusha is right about 4 parts but wrong on the amount to hand in; 75 parts 100 parts finally 150 parts. Best place is to grind the MINAC, let him spawn mini claptraps and when you have complete the quest, kill him and turn in. Save, exit for respawns, repeat.
  • Every dlc for this game has these terrible and unessecary, pointless collection achievements. First Brains, then cores/kills. Now this. STOP IT!!!
  • pined x360a needs to stop complaining an achivement is for doing sumthing story-related or going out of your way to do it. in short stop fucking bitching
  • Borderlands DLC has worst achievements ever!
  • comment #3 has the right idea, when you get to place they can't reach. Leave your xbox for an hour, kill the minac. And you'll have roughly 120 parts. You can keep doing this technique.
  • All achievements, by definition, are unnecessary, x360a. And for a game where "every" dlc has lengthy collection quests, they sure seem to be absent in Armory and Mad Moxie. Plus, if you're doing them right, you're getting them as you do everything else, so you shouldn't be having to put in that much extra effort
  • This can be done easily with a little patience. Who dos'nt enjoy destroying Clap-Traps anyway?
  • this is so stupid... i stopped after turning in the 100 parts quest.. thankfully i didn't take the one for 150 parts so it's not just sitting their in my mission log
  • the easist place i found to get this is in the dump, when you go in take a left and keep following the outside edge and theres an area that spawns 40-50 claptraps, and since its right near the beginning of the area exiting to the menu and getting back there is a lot quicker than going to MINAC, i was able to mop up the 150 items mission in less than 20 minutes
  • thanks #11. These quests are simple. peopel are so impatient :P
  • @#10 thats one achivement your not getting lol.
  • I would play through normally until you are given the mission to use the wireless device on the claptrap boss (this is the end of the game mission). Simply go to the area where Tannis tells you and there are 40+ claptraps in there. You can get at least 30-40 parts as well as the other collectables during this so it will save you a ton of time in the long haul. If you play through normally you can get about 100 parts (taking out the first 2 tasks but still leaving you 350 to get).
  • (About previous comment - My bad, Got the total number wrong)
  • Wow a glitch happen for me I wish this happen with the brains achievement but it didn't but if I get the 42 done that that will count for 75 and 75 would count as 100 then so on I guess it would be hell if it didn't happen
  • Do you get this Achievement for doing the following missions for Tannis?: Fight For Your Right To Part-E Parts Is Parts We All Have Our Part To Play A Part Of Something Larger Than Yourself
  • The best thing to do is to get the mission from Tannis, and then activate and complete the missions for Blake, Marcus and the info board. You get the majority of the parts and knock out two birds with one stone instead of just grinding through the dump over and over.
  • This one isnt "get as you go along" this is pointless grinding to kill claptraps because they never drop the collectibles" It freaking sucks...
  • Its a little bit frustrating when this is one of the last three achievements I need. I really don't like grinding or letting my console sit but it looks as though that's the only option for these collecting achievements.
  • #11? this is a good way to get a lot of things. i've found bobbleheads, pink panties [about 9 pairs so far but only 6 pizzas]loadsa 3d glasses, but.. not a single fish in a bag. i gues they're found at a specific site?
