![]() | Comment #4 by MaqAtaq Saturday, August 28, 2010 @ 11:43:44 PM >:( would be a better acheivement if there was a reason to go to TK's house to begin with. Make sure you start this up at the begining of the expansion, before you get too into the main quest line. I ended up with a VERY slow paced Left 4 Dead on my hands trying to scrounge around Jakob's Cove after the main quest was over trying to get all the brains. NONE of the brains you collected along the way will count unless you start this quest early on. if you make it past level 40 before you take on this job, then got fight around in the mill again, it's the only place with lots of zombies and worthwhile XP. |
![]() | Comment #5 by darkstar1006 Sunday, October 03, 2010 @ 08:54:08 PM Personally, after starting the "Braaains" quest chain, grind out the first four in the nearby area. The number of brains needed for the missions goes from 10/25/50/100/250, So it is a good idea to start this as soon as you can and when the "Braaaaaaaaaaaains" mission comes up, start completing the DLC and by the time you finish it, you should be near or at the 250 needed brains. |
![]() | Comment #6 by heavydwayne Sunday, January 02, 2011 @ 07:58:02 PM got this achievement by starting Underdome with a friend..... Yes, Underdome.... a completely different DLC. In fact, it gave me all of the Zombie Island Achievements... takes away from the game. |
![]() | Comment #7 by kylewiddz Wednesday, January 05, 2011 @ 09:57:05 PM this was a pain. made the mistake of not taking it til i pretty much completed the dlc. make sure to find tk as soon as possible |
![]() | Comment #8 by towns Monday, January 10, 2011 @ 01:58:51 AM @6 im pretty sure you got the achievements cuz your friend had them. i did this with a split screen character (underdome is nearly impossible without) and the second the game started, the other profile got the zombie achievements even tho i had never touch the dlc on that profile |
![]() | Comment #9 by GAMERSCOREMAN Wednesday, January 12, 2011 @ 01:27:38 PM where is tk? |
![]() | Comment #10 by kill3rclown2k10 Friday, January 21, 2011 @ 02:59:38 PM For all of you who are finding it hard to activate the mission, it's in hallows end, when you reach the sign for hallows end and creepy tree house, head right, keep going 'till you reach the sign saying hallows end. Enter (watch out for badass tankensteins). And keep going forward, or just explore round. Then it will go into a short cut scene, and show a building saying 'Fyrestone'. He'll be in there. And just collect brains by crit' hitting enemies to death... |
![]() | Comment #11 by thekilleragu Friday, January 21, 2011 @ 09:42:26 PM @8 Yeah, it's a split screen glitch. |
![]() | Comment #12 by SWISS PRIDEZ Sunday, February 20, 2011 @ 12:19:08 AM If you need help with this send me a message. I personally havn't finished this, but have modded weapons and a modded shield so It will be done quickly. I will only be doing this once, I wont help people do it once I have it like I do with Crawmerax.. So if you want this achievement and some modded items, send me a message :D |
![]() | Comment #13 by Lahfta Monday, February 21, 2011 @ 10:23:25 AM This achievment is a pain in the butt. |
![]() | Comment #14 by DezSnaker Monday, February 21, 2011 @ 01:16:41 PM Complete the braaaaaaaaaains mission. First you must complete i think 4 other missions which also involve collecting brains (Getting Headshots on zombies) (Zombie Island Dlc required). |
![]() | Comment #15 by Pestrick Saturday, March 19, 2011 @ 04:04:05 AM I second MaqAtaq's comment. unreal. bad programming. did it last and the zomb's were scare. ridiculous, so get TK's leg first of all when the zomb's are rife. honestly i must have picked up 100 brains before even knowing about this mission :s |
![]() | Comment #16 by cooper101183 Saturday, March 19, 2011 @ 12:33:34 PM To locate T.K Baha open up your map in hollow's end and right at the bottom on the left side you'll see that it curves round and there is a sign saying piss off follow that curve until you reach a hut on the porch will be his leg. To save yourself lots of time go there as soon as you load up the DLC, kill as many zombies as you can on the way but make sure you dont collect ANY brains as your wasting your time. Once you start the mission you'll need 10 go outside and all those zombis brains youve just shot out are waiting for you, only pick up 10 drop them off then go back out. This saved me alot of time. |
![]() | Comment #17 by SiN Zero Tuesday, April 05, 2011 @ 08:00:11 PM This quest is cake. All you have to do is get head shots. They are 100% drop rate. that way. |
![]() | Comment #18 by monleypunk28 Saturday, April 16, 2011 @ 11:53:16 AM this quest is just time consuming, which makes it slightly annoying |
![]() | Comment #19 by Bang dead Tuesday, April 19, 2011 @ 01:59:58 PM @17 for some reason when i get headshots on them and it says critical on the screen i dont get brains. (sometimes) |
![]() | Comment #20 by SiN Zero Tuesday, April 19, 2011 @ 05:55:12 PM @19 When i was doing this with a friend we were both using a sniper rifle we got one every time. We did try other guns like shot gun etc which seem to only drop them once an a while. Not sure if you tried this using a sniper rifle. Only took us about 30min or less to finish the quest line. Just seems that a sniper rifle works the best.We did this on our first playthrough, don't know if that has anything to do with it. |
![]() | Comment #21 by Loos Guccreen Friday, April 22, 2011 @ 08:06:31 AM Easy achievement. No need to search zombies (even if 435 seems to be a high number). All you have to do is to start it early. You'll easily meet 100 zombies in Dead Haven, And 250 by finishing the main quest. |
![]() | Comment #22 by raleigh747 Sunday, May 01, 2011 @ 08:06:15 AM When using weapons that fire multiple bullets or projectiles, it is possible for one of them to score a critical but but not be the killing blow. The killing projectile/bullet must be a critical. |
![]() | Comment #23 by TheMacias Thursday, May 05, 2011 @ 03:23:47 PM I was wondering for what were the brains I collected from the beginning of "Zombie Island". I curse the makers of the game because when I started this quest much later the brains I got earlier vanished. I bet I had at least 200... |
![]() | Comment #24 by AceBeskor Tuesday, June 28, 2011 @ 10:37:26 PM If anybody is doing this now I'd like some help, not that this quest is at all difficult, but im just really bored sitting here not doing anything. |
![]() | Comment #25 by Dalglish YNWA96 Monday, July 11, 2011 @ 10:37:31 AM This is a very long and boring achievement to get. I am about 100 away from the 250 mark and it is very frustrating. Can't wait until this achievement is done so I don't have to look at it again. |
![]() | Comment #26 by Mr Rudewords Tuesday, July 26, 2011 @ 06:38:05 AM Indeed! What an absolute bore! I've only done two of them so I'm only on 25. I'll have to walk around for ages to get this just shooting zombies in the head with a blatent mistake of being a siren so if they get too close they burn before I can shoot them. Oh man! |
![]() | Comment #27 by CrimpyGoose422 Sunday, July 31, 2011 @ 05:23:15 PM The easiest way to earn this achievement is to have a good sniper. i recommend one with explosive damage so it's a one shot kill. Any weapon with fire, shock, or corrosive damage are not good choices, due to the lasting affect of the element. (Not to mention that shock damage actually gives health back to the bigger zombies, like, Badass Tankensteins.) |
![]() | Comment #28 by AstralNomad Saturday, August 20, 2011 @ 04:44:17 AM Finding the shack was the most annoying. At least put it someplace that isn't off in a corner. I ended up figuring this out after killing the Neds too. Oh well, still good xp. |
![]() | Comment #29 by SnakeIntheboX Thursday, August 25, 2011 @ 09:33:32 AM There should be a giant FUC*ING warning about starting this quest first, I picked up hundreds of brains before starting this quest and because gearbox fluff goats not one singe brain counted. Also 0 fast travel points, that is a bad joke!!!! |
![]() | Comment #30 by omegabomb2 Wednesday, September 21, 2011 @ 05:12:26 PM to get this acheivment give zombie tk baha 250 brains... dont pick up eny brians before you have the quest it f***ed up my chance for the achvment it glitched it so i had to make a new chareter |
![]() | Comment #31 by omegabomb2 Wednesday, September 21, 2011 @ 05:13:50 PM so u all no this thing is lieing i dont have 1675 gs i have 5600 but its not sayin |
![]() | Comment #32 by Crepsik Monday, September 26, 2011 @ 12:57:05 PM This isnt very timeconsuming at all. I had finished the 250 mission before I killed Ned and the only farming I did was 10 and 25 mission near his house, rest I did while doing sidequests and main story |
![]() | Comment #33 by green ran9er Friday, September 30, 2011 @ 11:57:44 AM Where is Hallow's End? I don't know how to get there from Jakobs Cove. |
![]() | Comment #34 by green ran9er Friday, September 30, 2011 @ 02:18:00 PM wow, found it. Yeah, this is annoying. I'm trying to string together long trains of them and doing it like in COD. Its still going to take forever to get the last 250. |
![]() | Comment #35 by green ran9er Sunday, October 02, 2011 @ 02:28:04 AM dang, I thought this sucked until I tried doing the clap trap stuff. It'll take weeks to get all of those oil cans and stuff. |
![]() | Comment #36 by nasland19 Thursday, October 20, 2011 @ 10:00:54 PM not actually to bad to do if you try to get the critical shoots during your main playthrough this flys by. |
![]() | Comment #37 by asylumspadez Saturday, December 24, 2011 @ 04:07:28 PM Starting off first thing would be the easiest because you will have a majority of it done by the time you beat the DLC. I dont mind it doing it after beating the dlc though (which I am currently during) but it requires a ton of annoying back tracking. |
![]() | Comment #38 by Distractor08 Saturday, December 24, 2011 @ 06:37:17 PM This achievement is nothing compared to the Claptrap collection DLC and everyone knows what I mean by collecting (stinking bobble-heads, oil cans, pizzas, ect.) |
![]() | Comment #39 by Shredwot Friday, December 30, 2011 @ 10:20:41 AM I sadly found out about this towards the end of the DLC so i had to grind for a few hours.... not a fun time |
![]() | Comment #40 by Skynet Drone Wednesday, January 18, 2012 @ 11:43:15 PM Agreed. Starting this asap is key. The first thing I did in Hallow's End was find T.K. and I got all the missions done way before I finished the dlc |
![]() | Comment #41 by Sinkaa91 Tuesday, January 24, 2012 @ 06:25:16 AM so annoying when you start the brains! questline at the end of the dlc progress |
![]() | Comment #42 by BasqueNYC Sunday, February 19, 2012 @ 03:00:42 PM I know this has nothin to do with this achievement but when I first saw this it reminded me of the Simpsons annual "Treehouse Of Horros" show.I believe it was season 2 when the zombies go to Ned Flanders house knocking on his door askin for brains and Ned Flanders bein overtly friendly let's them in and says "you rascals I thought you were dead and..." than you see a shot of the house on a creepy slant and his classic scream is heard from inside lol makes me laff every time |
![]() | Comment #43 by Vikairius Wednesday, February 22, 2012 @ 12:18:14 AM Just a lot of grinding...lumberyard is the place I gathered them the fastest...start as early as you can. |
![]() | Comment #44 by kipper1807 Friday, March 09, 2012 @ 05:36:14 PM fuck T.K..... |
![]() | Comment #45 by Kesrick Vankilion Saturday, March 10, 2012 @ 06:29:33 PM used a high powered pistol and got scoped head shots, seemed to drop more brains than just spray and preying with a machine gun or shot gun. so aiming for the head helps, hope it does for you too I spent most of my time just making a circuit around Dead Haven, averaged 25ish - 30 per run, vendered whatever crappy guns and unessential items, then did another circuit after the zombies re-spawned. |
![]() | Comment #46 by Kesrick Vankilion Saturday, March 10, 2012 @ 08:21:21 PM okay on the final stint, the best method i felt was a single semi automatic gun with a scope, clip size 3+ high damage. you have to hit them in the head with a kill shot to blow out the brain for it to drop. torso zombies are the easiest, just aim at their nose while they crawl, let them come into your sights/scope center crosshair, then blow out the brain psycho zombies are easy close range scope head shot kills, they keep their head rather exposed with arms wide open, just back pedal slowly with your scope up till they get comfortably close, then go for the boom head shot now the regular zombies, the hardest are the ones with their head tucked down, its actually easier to get brains from them with no-scope (just don't aim down sights / scope, regular crosshair pop shots at th |
![]() | Comment #47 by Kesrick Vankilion Saturday, March 10, 2012 @ 08:23:13 PM their* head yield better results with the hunched over types, scoped shots with them tend to hit their necks or shoulders resulting in no heads. the barrel guys, is your preference, they got rather big heads and tend to get close after they lob their barrel defilers are just annoying, i just mow them down, their vomit alone and their erratic movements make it just a skipable time waste of a zombie, just mow them down whilst aiming upwards at their head avoid hitting barrels, and try to get this quest early on too, hope my zombie shooting tips-round up helps :) |
![]() | Comment #48 by serenity540 Monday, April 23, 2012 @ 06:05:27 AM i think this was one of my favorite achievements :) |
![]() | Comment #49 by SKX Paranoia Tuesday, May 01, 2012 @ 09:05:31 PM Good note that I don't believe has been stated previously : After turning in each of the Braaaaaaains! quests, stick around to watch TK feast on the brains. Each time he eats the brains you give him, he will puke out a gun or two as a reward. A few of the ones I got were actually pretty nice. |
