|Seriously Good At This||40|
|Complete the game on the hardest difficulty setting.|
You should start the game on Hard, seeing as you have unlimited lives. When you die, you are reborn at a Vita-Chamber and the game stays exactly how you left it, meaning every enemy will have the same amount of health if you were in a battle. You can essentially run at a Big Daddy and melee it until it kills you, then get reborn and return and do the same. It is impossible to get a "Game Over" so to speak, so this difficulty is really not hard at all.

this can't be glitched at the end of the game as some other sources have said. you must actually go through the game on the hard mode and turn the via-chambers off.

While going for this one you may as well go for the Brass Balls achievement.
Just as simple just need to save often and turn off the Vita Chamber in Settings.

@#7, what is that trick?

Friday, December 30, 2011 @ 11:26:04 PM
The glitch is
Play the game on any difficulty and just before you have to drain the ADAM for the last time press start and change difficulty to hard then press start to return to the game (do not press B)
then drain the ADAM
this will unlock the cheevos for hard mode and brass balls(if you did not use a vita chamber that is)
they will unlock after you awake during the last cutscene so dont freak out if they dont pop instantly

I accidentally switched the difficulty in the final area and locked myself out of this achievement, might try that trick to straighten it out

I'm finding this near impossible. Is there any certain style of play I should take to make it easier? At the moment I seem to be running around blasting stuff to no avail.

After playing a little more, I've discovered that it does get easier once you've acquired a few more weapons, it's just the beginning sections that are tricky due to the initial disadvantages. I've found that camera research is essential so get it maxed out as soon as possible. It makes defeating enemies so much easier. Expect to die a few times, but it shouldn't hold you back too much.

@14 it should still work since the post is written in late december 2011 and the game is so many years older than that. why bother fixing a glitch on so short notice on their part?! past experience (at least for me) is that if they havent fixed the gliches the same year the game was released, they probably dosent give a whaa about it anymore. im going for this tomorrow! will get me a 100% on it, assuming this works :D

Followed all instructions, but I'm finding that this trick does not work as of 5/31/2012. Very frustrating. If anyone can still get it to work for them, let me know.

Followed instructions exactly and it worked for me on 6/9/12. Sorry to hear it, #19. Did you do what other posters have said re: only hitting left once to move from "Normal" to "Hard" difficulty, and then pressing Start instead of B to get back to the game?

THIS IS STUPIDLY FRUSTRAITING!!! >_<
I've defeated Atlas 4 times now, doing exactly as said above and no achievements have popped.
Does this have to have perfect timing first time or it becomes void? The annoying thing is that I did this and hard to about half way though until I saw this thread, then changed to easy as I thought it would be quicker. :(
I missed Research phD and Avid inventer too. (As well as the two related to doing it on the hardest setting.)
I really want 100% on this and I DON'T want to play it all over again.
Please help! :s

Just finished this game (June 20, 2012) using the Easy mode to Hard glitch.
Disabled vita chambers (half way through the game because I had to remove and download the DLC again to receive the option to) and completed the game to the very end on Easy mode.
Before the last (4th) extraction I went into options and put it on HARD (clicked it on the difficulty setting left once) and pressed Start (NOT button B) and the two achievements unlocked (brass balls/beat on hardest setting) at the cut scene.

I can confirm this works. Clear cache. Download dlc. Play on easy. Change to hard THEN get the last hit and drain him. You need that last hit to be on hard.

This is pretty hard so far on hard and with no vita chambers, but damn is it fun. I haven't played a game this hard in awhile, it really makes you appreciate not dying. I wish more games had difficulties this hard, a lot of games with "insane" difficulties are 2x as easy as this one, thanks for the challenge Bioware!

@27 Bioware? Come on, give the credit to the people who actually made the game, Irrational games (2K Boston).

I found the Easy->Hard glitch didn't work for me - changed by pressing left once (then pressing start) before I used the needle for the fourth time. Nor did the Brass Balls achievement pop.
I quit to the dashboard from the main menu, cleared the cache, redownloaded the DLC, then went back and tried it again - both this and Brass Balls popped the second time. Hope this might help those still having problems!

Paused during the final cut-scene where the little sister jumps on Atlas' back and changed the difficulty to Hard. The achievement popped much to my surprise.
I still need to play through on hard to get the brass balls achievement though, so I guess it only matters in the short term.

it took me a couple tries to use this glitch....I read above:
-before last adam injection press start/options
-left on difficulty to go to hard
and finish the stab.

Yes, I can confirm as of March 2013, that this glitch still works!! I didn't even have to delete the DLC. Just follow #31 directions and you are set! I played this on easy and got every single achievement on my first playthrough. Thank you all for the glitch!!

hey, can you change the difficulty at any time during the last battle or does it have to be right before the last adam drain?

Sweet Ill do the glitch as I beat the game on Hard before so I have that trophy legit. Ill put the game on Normal for first playthrough on 360 then change to Hard to unlock the achivement. When I get back online Ill download the free DLC and do playthrough 2 on Easy then at end switch to Hard to get the ''Vita chamber'' one.

I initially started the game on hard only to see the "easy/hard" glitch afterwards.. So early on I switched it to easy. Well, I got to Fontaine, and like everyone else switched back to "hard" before the last needle was placed. I waited and nothing...no achievement. Is it because I started on hard to easy then back to hard that I'm not getting this acheivement? Any advice would be appreciated.
