![]() | Comment #2 by Shijuuichi Wednesday, December 08, 2010 @ 03:54:33 AM got the same problem, got all the other achievements for research in one game, but didn't get the Research PhD achievement... |
![]() | Comment #3 by BeatboxingKing Thursday, December 16, 2010 @ 03:40:25 PM Did you research the security camera, turret and security bot? |
![]() | Comment #4 by AfroMark Sunday, January 30, 2011 @ 04:28:57 PM I've researched everything including turrets, bots and cameras and still no achievement. :( Any suggestions? |
![]() | Comment #5 by SentinelPlayer3 Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 04:09:38 PM I hate this one |
![]() | Comment #6 by Tankore Thursday, February 03, 2011 @ 09:08:44 PM I've had the exact same problem as well. Gone through the entire game three and each time this is the one achievement it refuses to give me. |
![]() | Comment #7 by R3DRuMe Tuesday, February 15, 2011 @ 10:58:25 AM You need to research the turrets, cameras, and the little flying bastards all the way and it will come just as easily as the others. Did it on my first playthrough after I noticed I could keep researching turrets etc. |
![]() | Comment #8 by TheGreyMan Monday, March 21, 2011 @ 05:02:36 AM I think @R3DRuMe is right. I've now unlocked all the other research achievements, but haven't finished research on the turrets, bots and cameras. Seems logical. I'm hoping it will unlock once I max those, although they are quite annoyingly difficult to take snaps of! :-) |
![]() | Comment #9 by ReadableWig Tuesday, April 12, 2011 @ 06:20:31 PM I was on the very ending of the game, and I only needed research on the cameras, but they where either hacked or destroyed, FML! |
![]() | Comment #10 by chirudazu Friday, June 03, 2011 @ 01:46:39 AM I almost missed the cameras as well, not knowing they could be researched until later in the game. I'm guessing that those having trouble with this achievement have not researched either the cameras, turrets, or bots completely (remember, you need four full bars). |
![]() | Comment #11 by XX HEH8ME XX Tuesday, June 21, 2011 @ 02:33:00 PM Yeah you need to research the turrets and cameras and security bots. those take the most amount of research, and everything youve researched doesnt carry over to a new game |
![]() | Comment #12 by R3f1cul Sunday, July 10, 2011 @ 10:19:03 PM so is there no way to max research of cameras and bots after your at the point of no return |
![]() | Comment #13 by OVERLORDX117 Sunday, July 17, 2011 @ 08:10:06 PM Camera's are easiest to research if just run under them and take pictures. they won't see you so you can eaisily research them. |
![]() | Comment #14 by A7X x Shadow Thursday, July 21, 2011 @ 03:33:55 AM Yeah, the security is the hardest to research, mostly because, if you're good enough at the game, you'll probably be avoiding the cameras so much that you won't really even see any security bots. Worst is that there's no way to keep track of them. I almost missed this one, took a snap of a turret, and found out I missed them. |
![]() | Comment #15 by TaylorPaige09 Sunday, August 07, 2011 @ 02:34:41 PM You have to photograph the turrets, camera, bots, splicers, Big Daddies, and Little Sisters. I didn't know on my previous playthroughs that you had to take pictures of the Big Daddies and the Little Sisters. I'm doing ANOTHER playthrough of BioShock on easy just to get this achievement. Ugh.... |
![]() | Comment #16 by Babydoll123 Thursday, August 18, 2011 @ 08:39:07 PM This achievement is SO LONG! You need to take a picture of everything that moves.Every enemy including the little sisters must be taken on picture. Also, dude Pagie5886,you should know that you must take photos of the 2 big daddies (the bouncer and the rosie).I hope this helps. |
![]() | Comment #17 by AstralNomad Saturday, August 20, 2011 @ 04:11:07 AM It seems like security cameras always give me a C rating. How the heck does one get an A rating? |
![]() | Comment #18 by NickDaff Tuesday, September 06, 2011 @ 05:23:23 PM Just a note, you can research the flying bots at any time. Just go to a previous level, find some enemies and lead them to a friendly camera. This will spawn yellow bots that can be researched. Hope this saves you some time :) |
![]() | Comment #19 by sh3p3000 Sunday, September 18, 2011 @ 06:28:03 AM big daddys come in 2 types rosie and bouncer both need 2 be photographed |
![]() | Comment #20 by Yatesy NU04 Wednesday, December 28, 2011 @ 03:46:34 PM Make sure you photograph the security bots/turrets and both types of big daddy. |
![]() | Comment #21 by TwiK999 Tuesday, March 06, 2012 @ 02:39:56 PM Im not sure why everyone is having problems with this achievement i got it quite easily. What you must fully research (fill the bar four times): Leadhead splicer Thuggish splicer Spider splicer Nitro splicer Houdini splicer Bouncer big daddy Rosie big daddy Little sister Security bot (flying bot) Security camera Security turret It helps to have the photographer's eye tonic and try get multiple subjects and action shots. You can take a picture of the same subject several times until it says score too low. |
![]() | Comment #22 by xXJuicyGiantXx Monday, April 30, 2012 @ 10:26:53 PM am i the only one that thinks that the fort frolic spider splicers, the all white ones, are the most terrifying thing in the whole game? |
![]() | Comment #23 by xXJuicyGiantXx Monday, April 30, 2012 @ 10:33:48 PM also, to complete the bouncer research i photographed them first with the little sister, then killed them, then harvested the little sister and after that just went on with the mission but if you leave and come back they respawn so i just kept coming back, photographing them and then killing them. lather, rinse, repeat |
![]() | Comment #24 by Bookworm Wednesday, May 30, 2012 @ 11:40:52 PM do you have to fully research the subjects in one game/play-though or is it accumulative with just getting achievements. (Bouncer was the only one I missed) |
![]() | Comment #25 by IrritatedPuppy Thursday, June 14, 2012 @ 09:41:12 AM Yes you have to research everything in 1 play through unfortunately. |
![]() | Comment #26 by DredMart Saturday, June 16, 2012 @ 02:50:06 AM I fully researched everything I got all the achievements for them and I also fully researched the cameras turrets and the flying things. |
![]() | Comment #27 by DredMart Saturday, June 16, 2012 @ 02:51:46 AM I fully researched everything I got all the achievements for them and I also fully researched the cameras turrets and the flying things and still no achievement. Ignore the other comment I made. |
![]() | Comment #28 by Cheeks88247 Sunday, June 17, 2012 @ 04:09:45 PM Wish I had seen this thread before just compleating the game. :( Fail. |
![]() | Comment #29 by warborn718 Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:28:14 PM For people who aren't getting this, go back through the levels and take one more picture of every enemy to make sure you have them all. You might have maxed out the research for one of them, got the achievement for that particular one, then died at a later point without a save after you fully researched that enemy. |
![]() | Comment #30 by Machete160 Tuesday, October 02, 2012 @ 01:57:31 PM hmmmph. broken achievement. |
![]() | Comment #31 by SDHoneymonster Thursday, October 18, 2012 @ 04:29:10 PM @ #23 - agree with you there! Those plastered splicers are bloody horrible. You don't have to photograph them though I don't think, although to be fair I didn't try - they behave just like spider splicers, which I had maxed out by the end of Fort Frolic, so I didn't think to try. You do realise they only come to life if you use the Power To The People machine in the Sinclair Spirits basement? |
![]() | Comment #32 by Gamelunatic92 Sunday, January 20, 2013 @ 11:29:25 PM All you have to do is max out all possible research in a playthrough. Its NOT hard at all. Yes, in one play through, it wouldnt make any sense to let it combine playthroughs unless there were like 100 different enemies, which there are not. Those flying fucks are a pain, finish those ASAP |
![]() | Comment #33 by Deadsea 18 Tuesday, April 09, 2013 @ 08:36:03 PM I was screwed before because this is important too That means cameras, turrets, flying camera bots. Before you hack a machine snap a picture as many times as it will net you XP. Try to get Grade A first photo then each picture is B grade then C then you cant photograph the same machine. This helps you get this achivement faster. At the time I didnt know machines counted too and as I hacked EVERYTHING in the game I was screwed. Not hard if ya know what yur doin :) |
![]() | Comment #34 by Deadsea 18 Tuesday, April 09, 2013 @ 08:40:56 PM Also this means The Bouncer and Rosie Big daddies (Bouncers are the drill guys,Rosies carry the big gun) The many different splicers like The Spider (Crawls on ceiling and has knife hands.) and other splicers The little sisters, BEFORE Rescuing/killing them always snap a photo of them. Snap a photo before challenging the big daddy, then kill the Big guy then snap photos at the crying lil sister. The machines like turrets, cameras, bots. You need to fully research everything in one playthrough. I reserched EVERYTHING EXCEPT The Machines. I did not know they counted. Dont make my mistake. |
![]() | Comment #35 by PsiScream Sunday, April 14, 2013 @ 10:17:17 PM Just to recap, there are sub-achievements for researching the different inhabitants of Rapture required for this achievement, except for the three machines: turrets, sentry bots, and cameras. You'll know when each is finished because it will say something like 'research complete, picture not taken' if you try and photograph something that you've completed. Keep you film stocked up from vending machines, and take multiple pictures per enemy and you'll get this completed by the end of the game. The last one I needed was 'Rosie' and I was afraid I'd have to go back and farm the earlier levels since all I could find were Bouncers, but Rosie's do show up again in the later levels. |
![]() | Comment #36 by Browknee Sunday, April 21, 2013 @ 01:15:19 AM If anyone is having trouble with researching everything. Just remember you can go back and research everything but the little sister if you have harvested/rescued all of them. Its what i did my first play through. Couldn't figure out which one i didnt have researched because there were no more little sisters for me to take pictures of. |
![]() | Comment #37 by CesarianAlex Monday, April 29, 2013 @ 06:10:45 PM To get the bots easily, hack a camera, lure an enemy towards it to trigger the alarm and take pics of the bots coming. They are friendly but not hacked and they take care of the splicer, making it a win-win situation! |
![]() | Comment #38 by Onebull Wednesday, May 15, 2013 @ 11:03:58 AM Do they security cameras even reset to hostile? I hacked everything and still need the camera pics. |
