	Comment #3 by ThePrince Monday, March 25, 2013 @ 04:09:14 PM I guess this means you cannot get this achievement while going for the "Scavenger Hunt" achievement, which requires you to not purchase anything from a vending machine while on 1999 mode. I'm probably gonna play this game more than once. :)

I would buy things with about 3000 coins, then restart from a check point because i wanted to get the 30 skyride kills. Well it counts the money for the achievement every time you restart. So within 3 times of restarting at the check point I had spent 9000 coins to the game and it gave me my achievo (since i had already spent more than a thousand earlier).
