Poisoned Ivy Achievement in Batman: Arkham Asylum

  • Poisoned Ivy

Defeat the giant Titan Ivy plant

  • How to unlock Poisoned Ivy

This is a story related achievement and cannot be missed.

Defeating Poison Ivy is more tedious than hard, while attacking her keep an eye on the ground for clumps of grass. As soon as you see these clumps forming evade by them by jumping to either side. Keep tapping the to throw the Batarang, remember not to aim but use quick throws. Half way through the battle Ivy will start to spawn guards, pay less attention to them and concentrate on Ivy. Keep throwing the Batarang and dodge the vines that come up from the floor.

This is more trial an error but once you get half way through you will start from that save point.

  • make sure you take your time while doing this challenge
  • I have to say, this was one of the more difficult boss battles. I've got in down to a 'T' now though. :)
  • stay in the middle so that you can dodge Ivy's roots faster without getting caught by them.
  • i'd so fuck ivy!
  • Good bit of advice for the harder difficulties here. If you use an armour upgrade during part 1 of the boss fight, your health will be fully restored. However after you've started part 2 (when she will start bringing in guards to attack you), if you die in the middle of the fight you will restart with Ivy at half health AND the upgrade bonus will still be avaliable, so you can get an entire extra life, if you wait until you're almost out of health.
  • bitch! damn she was annoying on hard.. idiot I was i had used all my armour upgrades..
  • it was a good fight but she harder then joker so wtf
  • Easiest boss battle so far. Just keep douple tapping evade in what ever direction to evade the vines and throw quick baterangs like a lunatic and she's toast within about ten minutes!
  • @goodyear92, you must have been playing on easy
  • Yeah, so, I got a good 5 or 6 deaths in before I realized that throwing the quick batarangs does almost no damage, and the key to really hurting Ivy is waiting until she opens her shield. Go ahead and quick batarang her and dodge vines until she raises up and starts shooting at you. When she does this, she will open her shield and the next batarang to hit her will make her scream and do some real damage. You'll have to time this well however, as you will nearly get hit by the first gob when you should be hitting LT. When she gets to phase 2 and starts spawning guards, it's very easy to keep hitting LT and Evading (A, A) so that you leapfrog a guy, hit Ivy, leapfrog a guy, hit Ivy, etc. Beat this in one go once I realized the shields drop like they do. I'm playing this on hard, if that's so
  • mehow relevant. Final note, when you hit LT, Batman takes a step forward, so you can also hold A to "run" between throws, keeping him somewhat mobile or at least keeping yourself from stepping all the way up to the ledge, where it is much more difficult to dodge the vines.
  • @#4: Thanks for the incredibly insightful tip! Idiots are you.
  • Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr So annoying.
  • FINALLY!!! Ok this is what I did after Ivy starts to spawn guards. As soon as she dropped each guard I would fight them. Most of the time they would be knocked off the side in three hits. Also keep dodging the plants. It took me 6 or 7 rounds but I finally beat it. Also I would throw my batarang as soon as the first orb was released and I ran back and forth across the screen. I never used evade. I never took any damage from the orbs by doing it that way. Hope this helps. Good luck everyone.
  • I actually beat her easily on Hard on my 2nd try. I did the opposite that #14 did, I ignored all the guards and never fought them, I just kept evading and jumping/rolling over them. Every time I would jump to evade or roll around, I would quick shoot out a batarang. That was it. Avoid the grass of course but wherever the grass doesn't spawn, keep evading and rolling around while shooting quick batarangs constantly. They'll keep hitting Ivy and the grass pretty much took care of the guards for me. When she goes to shoot the Orbs at you and opens her shield, your batarang will do more damage. Just keep doing that and with lots of evading (the guards) and lots of batarangs, you should get it. But I never bothered hitting a single guard. All that time you would spend attacking the gua
  • guards, to me, is better time spent on Ivy. I just focused on her and the fight was over pretty quick. Hope that helps :)
