Introduction:
Banjo Kazooie is a port of the classic N64 game, with a few minor tweaks (mostly cosmetic) for XBLA. The achievements are all pretty straightforward, but it will take you a long time to play through all levels and collect everything you need. Jigsaw Maker can glitch, so if you either are not on Xbox Live and haven't got your update make sure you have all the musical notes before doing the bottles challenges. You can only use the cheats you discover during the game through finding the spell book.

Step 1
It is highly advisable to have a collectables guide to hand before you start playing through. One for the notes can be found here, and for the extra honeycombs can be found here. If you feel the need for one, there are tons of full walkthroughs for the game online, as the game has been around for ages and always been popular. Although you can dip in and out of each unlocked level whenever you like, it is recommended to collect everything in a location before moving on. It is also advisable to note down everything the fairy says to you about Grunty, as these are unique to each game and you will need these facts at the end.

Apart from the collectables, simply playing through the game will net you most of the achievements, with Get Jiggy or Mumbo Jumbo probably coming first, for getting two Jiggy pieces or visiting Mumbo for the first time respectively. You will get Knock Out Nipper while going for a Jiggy on your second level and Free Clanker in the third one. When you play Mr Vile's mini game in Bubblegum Swamp, make sure you eat at least 30 of the little red things (very easily done) to unlock Chomp Chomp!. While playing through the levels you will learn new moves, taught to you by Boggles the mole. You will need to learn these to progress, so a location guide isn't really needed. You will learn the last of these moves when you get to Gobi's Desert to unlock Move Master.
Once you have finished Mad Monster Mansion, you will have got far enough to access Grunty's spellbook in all three locations, so visit all three for Cheating Cheato, and go activate the cheats if you feel the need.
If you have been following your collectable guide, once you unlock the last level you will be able to pick up your last notes and honeycombs to unlock Music Maestro and Show Me The Honey!.
Finally you will have to play the quiz round to finish the story and rescue Tooty. Here you will have to answer questions about the game, and also use the answers the fairy told you about Grunty. Once you have progressed through this, you will unlock The Quiz Master, and will be rewarded with a short cut-scene and some credits.

Step 2
Now we will finish up the post-main-story challenges. Load up your save game again, and you will be at the quiz board, but will be able to run straight over it, and go through the hole Grunty went through. Follow the path and you will get to a roof fight with the old witch. There are unlimited gold feathers and eggs, so use them wisely through the five stages of the fight with her. Upon her defeat you will get Jinjonatored.

After this, there is one last achievement to get, Jigsaw Maker. Return to your house where you started the game, and look at the picture of Bottles and press . This should take you to a minigame involving jigsaw making. There are 7 pictures to complete, and the achievement will unlock when they are all finished. No mop up required, as if you have followed the steps you will have the game done!

Conclusion:
Banjo Kazooie is a pretty easy 200, but it is not the fastest out there. There are some players that have completed this game much faster than the estimated time given, but if you are unfamiliar with the game, you should come in somewhere around the 12 hour mark. It can be frustrating at times, but if you play for nostalgia reasons, or just want a fun platformer to play for some relatively easy achievements, this is the game for you!

There are 12 achievements with a total of 200 points

  • It doesn't matter which two, just successfully collect any two Jiggies.

Your first Jiggy of the game will be located on top of some rocks to the left of where you enter Gruntilda's lair. That will open up Mumbo's Mountain which contains another ten Jiggies. Collect any of them to get your second Jiggy and the achievement.

Here is a quick rundown all all the Jiggies in the game and Here is a more thorough walkthrough if you need help at any point.

  • Get yourself transformed by Mumbo Jumbo for the first time. Now that's magic!

Inside the first world you will need to collect five silver skulls to pay for your transformation. Once you have all five, head into the skull hut to the right of the level's entrance and press X on the skull platform to transform for the first time. Here are the five skull locations:

    1. To the right of the entrance, behind the tower where the purple jinjo is standing.
    2. Next to where Bottles teaches you the egg spit, go to the left and jump up onto the ledges.
    3. Hidden behind a slab near the stone hedge rock formation.
    4. Inside the termite mountain on the second ledge.
    5. Underneath the ramp leading into Mumbo Jumbo’s skull.
  • Come out on top in a dust-up with Nipper the crab. Watch out, he's called Nipper for a reason.

Nipper is located in the level Treasure Trove Cove. Take a left from the level's entrance to find him. To defeat him, simply use the jump attack (A, then X in the air) to hit him in the eyes three times. You will need to hit, then retreat while he attacks and repeat.

  • Liberate Clanker, Gruntilda's rusty and recalcitrant garbage grinder.

Clanker is located in the level Clanker's Cavern. After the first room you will come out into a large open room with Clanker underwater. To free him, dive all the way down where the chain is and swim through the key three times. You won't have enough air to do it and get back up, but the fish down there will spit out air bubbles to replenish your air supply.

  • They're red and no less than 30 of them need chomping. Nuff said.

In the level Bubblegloop Swamp there will be a large alligator head on an island. Have Mumbo transform you into a small alligator and go inside through the nose. Inside you will play a game against Mr. Vile to eat worms quickly. You will need to eat 30 red ones in the first round of his game. If you can not do it at first, head to the level Gobi's Valley to learn how to use the fast shoes and you will be able to use those to help you move faster.

  • Discover and master all Banjo's moves… and Kazooie's… but nobody else's. Unless you insist.

You will need to learn all the moves to beat the game, but here are the locations of Bottles' molehills thoughout the first seven levels of the game.

Note: You can skip the tutorials inside Spiral Mountain, the achievement is only for the moves learned in the game's levels inside Gruntilda's Lair.

  • Collect all 24 of the extra honeycomb pieces. Yes! Every single one! It's character-building.

There are six pieces inside the tutorial and another two in each of the game's nine levels. Here are all their locations.

  • Complete Grunty's Furnace Fun quiz show and win the Star Prize. Been paying attention?

First thing you want to do for this achievement is talk to Brentilda (the pink fairy hidden around Gruntilda's Lair) three times every time you see her. Write down or remember well the things she says about Gruntilda. Here are her locations.

Outside of Click Clock Wood will be a note door that will take you to the second-to-last section of the game, a giant quiz game. If you get an answer wrong during the puzzle, you lose one health. If you answer something wrong on a skull tile, you get thrown into the lava and die. Here is a very thorough walkthrough of the puzzle game, including all the answers (except the game-specific Gruntilda answers which you should have remembered or written down as explained previously).

Here is a picture of the game board.

Use this path to get through the quickest/easiest.

I would suggest though to get the first Joker card on the left and use it to skip one of the Death squares at the end to make things a bit easier.

  • Fear the Jinjonator. If you're a witch, that is. The Jinjonator lays the smack down on witches.

After the above achievement the game will seem to end. Reload your save and return to the quiz area, but now you can freely run across the board and up the stairs where Gruntilda ran to.

There are five phases to this fight:

    1. Dodge her dive attacks and jump attack when she stops.
    2. Dodge her fireballs and spit eggs at her.
    3. Use the flight pad and dive-bomb into her.
    4. Spit three eggs into each Jinjo statue.
    5. Spit three eggs into each hole on the large Jinjo statue.
  • Bet you thought jigsaws were boring! Bottles disagrees, and has seven of them to be solved.

Warning: DO NOT do this achievement until you have collected all 900 notes for the  "Music Maestro" achievement. Doing this will remove all the notes from all the stages, making it impossible to get your remaining notes.

After beating the game, return to Banjo's house in Spiral Mountain and stand at the edge of the carpet. Press Y and look at the picture of Bottles. If done right the game will start. If nothing happens you're not in the right spot, so move and try again.

There are seven puzzles to complete for the achievement. The puzzles will always break apart in the same pattern so if you are having trouble, try to do the same thing over and over until you get fast enough.

  • Bump into Grunty's disowned spellbook three times as it hops around the place dishing out cheats.

You must find all 3 of Gruntilda's spellbooks for this achievement. Here are there locations and how to get to them:

Book 1. The first book is after BubbleGloop Swamp, level 4. So once you learn how to wear the boots on this level from Bottles just leave and cross the Swamp and turn right into the tube (3 tubes, forward leaves area, left goes to Brentilda and right goes to a pair of boots.) Get the boots on and run through the swamp and behind the enternce to BubbleGloop swamp there is a passage, go through it and once on the other side, go up the hill to the left and break the thing blocking the passage, now return to BubbleGloop Swamp and turn into an alligator. Leave the level as the alligator and go through the tube again and go to the spot where you destroyed the block. Go through there and there is Spellbook 1.

Book 2. You will need to be a pumpkin in order to get to this spellbook. You will become a spellbook on the Mad Monster Mansion level, which is level 7. Once Mumbo turns you into a pumpkin, leave the level and bounce out of the area. When you are in the volcano area there will be two paths, take the skinny one. Once you get across it there will be a small hole, go through that and there it is, spellbook number 2.

Book 3. After you have entered the second code come back to the graveyard. Go to the left of the enterence of Mad Monster Mansion and break the fence. Now go into the level and turn into a pumpkin then leave. Once you leave take a sharp right and go through the fence that you knocked down and go into the hole in the door. Go to Mumbo and turn back into Banjo. (Mumbo is in that shack) Beak Bust the sarcophagus in the center of the room. Now jump on the first water switch.

Later on when you leave Rusty Bucket Bay, enter the alcove holding the grate which you knocked out earlier. This is the room where you first hit the water switch. (Not the one in the graveyard) It is the one with the shrapnel in it. Go to the opposite way to the third water switch. (Go through the pipe) Slam down on this and jump into the water and enter the next room. You have 30 seconds so quickly swim up to the top and enter through the topmost alcove. This is the room with the Rusty Bucket Bay enterance. Inside here, you will find the third and final spellbook.

  • There are 900 musical notes out there in the world of Banjo-Kazooie. Real gamers collect them all...

There are 100 notes in each of the game's levels, none in Spiral Mountain and none in Gruntilda's Lair. Once you have collected a note the game saves, so you can die or leave the level at any time without fear of having to collect anything over again.

Here are the locations for all of them.
