SPNKr M19
If anyone has been on a Rooster Teeth forum (makers of Red vs, Blue / example forum), you will notice they use a karma system. This is where you vote if the comment left by someone was good or bad, and then you get an overall karma rating (which you could put in at the name blocks in the posts area). This system would show who is spamming and who should be lisened to. Similar ideas are used onyahoo answers where you see a voting (percentage) on how relevet the answer was. If the admins get the chance I think this idea would work well with this site.
Sanction
It's all a popularity contest. And the "mod" system on that site doesn't have nearly the same effect it did when they first started it. Now it's based on how much you use the site and post. That hardly reflects "karma".

Well you get the idea.Vote for the relevance of a post. Average the votes for that post. Find the average of the averages from all your posts to find overall karma level. Just because it dosen't work that way on Rooser Teeth dosen't mean X360A can't make it better.
master_shake_350
It could work but someone could be a douche and vote randomly!
Eternal
The system is abused too much. vBulletin comes with a reputation system, and the only reason we don't use it is because it'll just be abused and abused.
Minty
It turns the site into a Myspace friends request contest. And we have our own special unique way of dealing with people with bad kkarma
SuperGaz
its flawed in a lot of ways, plus if someone is being a constant nob on this site, i believe the ban hammer comes crashing down on their face.
SPNKr M19
It turns the site into a Myspace friends request contest. And we have our own special unique way of dealing with people with bad karma Owww. Minty has a dark side. The revenge of the golf man. Hoorah. its flawed in a lot of ways, plus if someone is being a constant nob on this site, i believe the ban hammer comes crashing down on their face. Gotta love a ban hammer. Kills all the stupid twerps. I concede both your points though. I suppose the idea has its negatives.
Parkerktm
I think it's a really really good idea, but like others have said i think it would get abused. I could only imagine someone getting all anal just because someone told them to use the achievement trading thread.
