I played the first game and did enjoy playing it but me and a mate rented Bloodshot and were a little dissapointed, although I only played a couple of chapters.
Does the game live up to be on par or better then Criminal Origins?
Could anyone replying to this rate 1 and then rate 2 etc as I am unsure or not whether to play it or to let it pass.
I think it's better than the original.
It might take you more than just the first couple of chapters to get into. There isn't a whole lot of replay value, but I'll probably go through it two or three times.

I enjoyed the game just as much as the original. But, the combat system is a big improvement over the first; the combos, chains and environmental kills makes it a better game to me.
I found that many aspects of the gameplay had been improved over the original, such as combat and investigating a crime scene using your forensic kit
However i felt the game lacked the atmosphere the original had, i don't know why, i just wasn't scared by it at all, unlike the first game. Also, the plot wasn't as good, but all that said, i do think the 2nd game is more enjoyable and i would definatly recommend it
I enjoyed it as much as the original. They improved upon many things (i.e., the combat). There's also not as many scary parts in the sequel, but overall it's a good game.
I felt the same way too actually... But I guess I was just expecting something different... The game advanced into a different genre. I don't believe part 2 to be a true survival horror game. If anything, they leaned it towards an action horror.
Like you, I only played it a few chapters and gave up on it. It's been a while, and I'm considering maybe playing it again, and maybe try to expect differently about the game. The achievements I have for it bother me too when I see it on my list, makes me want to polish it up a bit. The good reviews seem to keep pouring in as well... I feel like I missed out on something.
I liked the first one better, although the second one is still quite good. The reasons why are in the Spoiler tag, although I am not spoiling the plot in any way, just it could be considered a spoiler.
The problem I had with it was that the game, explained the mystery's in the first Condemned much too fast with no real pzazz, and the explanations at the end were a little too much of a conspiracy theory then a horror plot.
I think the gameplay and features/weapons etc are better than the 1st one however I don`t like the story as much....the guy above hits the nail on the head with his explanation. It took me a few levels to get into it but when i did i really enjoyed it overall. I prefer the FPS mode you unlock after completing it once as although melee weapons and hardly any guns in the 1st game made it cool in this one it can make it frustrating at times when facing certain enemies

hope so, started playing it but haven't really got into it yet - but love the first one. Need to finish the first one before starting the second one again I think!

The multiplayer is awesome! I just wish it wasn't dead... I had a blast playing it and got the 'x amount of kills' achievement quite fast due to my addiction to it! It was phenomenal!
