Thermal Vision made easy!

After countless matches trying to get it and scowering the internets with only vague descriptions I have discovered how this power up works.

Stage-Choose Tailand-Gold
Gun-Fully upgraded .475 (the topmost pistol I believe)

The first section will pit you against three asian black bears. All you have to do is drop the three bears within 20 seconds from a distance of 7 yards.

Note-you won't get credit for it until after you successfully complete the stage.

The bears are slow and tend to stand up alot. Just dodge them back peddle and plug away. It doesn't have to be a 1 shot death just needs to be from a distance and all 3 within 20 seconds. Each bear takes 2 shots to down.

The power up is a brightly colored side profile of a dear.

hey, do you have to pass the whole zone (ie get gold medal) in order for the power up to count, im pretty sure i have done all of them now, just got the thermal thanks to you guys, but only got 1298/1300 points needed so it said i failed, and there was no bleep-bloop. almost finished with this one so i can trade it back off, nice easy 1000 minus this stupid power ups achievement. baconbail

finally got this one knocked off the first try after my last message. kinda crappy that they dont give you any idea of the req's for the power ups in the game or manual. good thing that we have X360A. thanks for the info, another one down and looking for the next 1000

Alaska Silver is another good one, also has 3 bears. One thing to update is that if you get the powerup and fail the level, you can repeat the level, not get the powerup on the 2nd try, but pass the level and it will give you credit for the powerup. Kinda cool.

guide says you need to use a pistol but it gave it to me and i did not use the pistol just the reg gun

Namibia Platinum is the easiest way by far. 3 elephants to take down.

And you can use any gun!

What the hell is wrong with this powerup. I'm doing Thailand Gold, with the normal gun (because apparently you don't have to use a pistol), and I keep getting the Instant Kill powerup. Instant Kill is killing 3 enemies in 20 seconds.

The bears are always far away, more than 7 meters. Does it have to be exactly 7 meters or something? They are always clean shots too.

Why is it, when I shoot them from more than 7 meters away, with clean shots, in under 20 seconds, it doesn't give it to me, instead it gives me either Instant Kill or Animal Freeze, usually Instant Kill. Freaking bullshit.

I will be the second to confirm, you don't need to use a pistol in order to get Thermal Vision. I got it, on accident, while using the .577!!!

What was the problem? I cant get themral vision either, always instant kill.

make sure youre heaps far away from the bears.

Worked great for me, tryed it 4-5 times then i got thermal vision (Thailand Gold,.577 Rifle)

is that within 7 yards?
also is there only 1 power up with a pic of a dear? as ive got that loads

edit.. never mind.. its from a distance greater than 7 metres

Any ideas on how to get this, I've tried everything for about 3/4 hours and can't seem to get it. My idiot starts with a bear chewing his anus fat right from the beginning on Thailand gold. Thanks.

Edit : got it at last, was using everything but the pistol as many people had said they got it with standard rifle, first time I used pistol I got it. Ended up getting it on the elephant stage again

just thought i'd say i just started trying for this one and did it quite fast but using the 577 (not hand gun) on namibia platinum.
i ended up getting 2 or 3 in one sitting doing this, lol

I can confirm this, when the description of thermal vision appeared to me there was no mention of pistol on my PAL copy of the game.

I also unlocked it shooting to rhinos in Namibia with .577 rifle from some distance.

i also used the elephants and the one thing that was really helpful was that you could shoot the elephant once to make it fall, create your distance then delvier the killing blow. Worked for me
