still think the pats are dead?

19-10 over the jets. Granted neither team played as great as other teams yesterday but i think we can stop saying the pats are dead this year.

19-10 with 1 touchdown, 4 FGs. NO TURNOVERS and our defense picked of farve once.

not bad with a QB who hasn't started a game since high school.

The PAT's have a strong Defense. If not they would be in more trouble.

They stopped the JET's on the goal line 3 times in the first half

I wouldnt say they are dead yet, but they should worry when they finally have to play a good team. I dont get why everyone thinks the jets would be good overnight just because Brett Favre is there now.

well i knew the jets wouldn't be that great, but the pats were considered and underdog and all i heard all week was how Brett Farve and his jets would crush the pats with brady gone.

and hey guess what, the pats have lots of other good players. and Matt Cassel is doing great finally.

Spoken from a Pats fan

I don't think the Pats will do undefeated nor do i think there come close. However i think there break the .500 mark by a few games and possibly make it into the playoffs.

It really depends how much Cassel steps up and if he can continue that down the stretch.

It was a good game against two alright teams, both wanting to be better then what they really are.

Even without Brady the Pats can get alot of Wins this season...an i still see them getting a playoff spot since they ahve a weak season ahead of them but who knows.

If no one knew, Cassel has played better than Brady did when he had to step in. So, big props to Cassel.

i'm not to familiar with the timeline for the injury brady has but does any know what his chances of coming back in the post season would be? say assuming the pats make it to the AFC Championship game and/or Superbowl? think he could come back by then or is it really gonna be a full year

I think a torn ACL is 7 or 8 months atleast before they even begin to come back. So no way he is playing even if the do get to the super bowl.

They beat the Jets and KC.I don't think we can say they're 4 sure making the playoffs just yet.And I don't care what anyone says the Jets are NOT a playoff team.

I actually made a bet with 4 of my friends who actually thought the Jets were going to beat the Patriots. It was a good Monday for me yesterday. hahaha.

What people are forgetting is that the Patriots are still a good TEAM. Tom Brady did not make the Patriots, he just simply helped to make them better. Without him, they just have to reshape their offensive line to cater to Cassell. Other than that, their defense is still great (As made obvious by Sunday's performance.), and Cassell's performance proved worthy. Not great, by any means, but worthy.

If the Patriots can get past Buffalo, they'll win the division with ease. And who knows? Possibly the conference again. I guess all eyes will be on Cassell these next couple weeks. He's either going to make or break the offense, but after a breakthrough performance against the Jets and a chance to boost his moral next week again the Dolphins, I think he'll end up being a decent quarterback.

Yeah. Watching the whole game I was like "WTF?" I still don't believe it. I mean. . . the Dolphins (who, don't get me wrong, were really good back in the day) royally spanked the Patriots. . .

There's nothing inherently funny about this quote, but after what happened, I busted out laughing when I saw it. I wish I would have been able to watch the game, sadly I couldn't.

yea well it was our defense that fucked up not our offense. i'll admit i kinda made myself look like a fool now but i wanted the pats to lose a game (don't feel like blowing another 19-0 season), just not that bad so yea. you'll see a new team in 2 weeks.
