I would guess several of the secret ones revolve around defeating bosses they didn't want to spoil, and likely one for each ending. Possibly one for an unlockable harder mode, and I could see a couple fun surprises.
And finding all the serums sounded dastardly at first, but then I realized they probably weren't talking about health drinks, considering there were similar achievements for photos and drawings and such.
As I said before, maybe the 50 g's are dodge/counter related (new system in the game), or for completing each chapter without dying or something, which would blow. Interesting theory about the different endings and the bosses, you could very well be right but it would be a pity : Silent Hill has no replay value whatsoever contrary to a Resident Evil. Remember Silment Hill 3 on Hard mode with the plastic lightsaber weapon ? So gay...

No replay value? Are you serious? There are usually 5 different endings for EVER SH game as opposed to one and ONLY one ending for the RE series of games. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of both series but that statement seemed a little dumb.
***THIS WILL ONLY APPLY IF THE ENDING HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE LAST ACTION TAKEN, SUCH AS IN ALONE IN THE DARK AND ENCHANTED ARMS!***
Well, just think about it. With the XBox you can save it to your hard drive, then put the save on your memory cardif you have one. If it has achievements for multiple endings, and they are trigged by something in the very end of the game, then you can just finish it with the save on one memory unit, get the achievement, delete it, replace it with the save from the other unit, repeat until all endings are unlocked.
***REGULAR DISCUSSION***
But if it happens to be about various endings, would there be a "true" ending and a "false" ending? If so, would the endings also be stackable? What if you're so good on your first run through you beat it, get the true ending, and then find you have to suck at the game for the others? haha
That is, unless, the endings are just triggered by certain events.

You're clearly dumb, there's around 2-3 for every RE series I should know, and even then when ou play a second time new cutscenes etc.
Silent Hill is ALWAYS the same until the end.

UFO ending in SH1, Rebirth and Dog endings in SH2, and the Apartment ending in SH3.
I disagree that they are always the same until the end.
Additionally, I really hope that some of the secret achievements are for the different endings. That was always my favorite part about the SH games was replaying them to "collect" the endings.
As a person that got INTO gaming through the Survival Horror series. (Resident Evil, and Silent Hill one). The dude that said RE does not have multiple endings, has only played RE4, which is one of the few RE games that only has one ending, along with Survivor and I could be wrong, but Code Veronica I believe only has one as well. Silent Hill does have multiple endings, and while they both have a few endings a piece, I like Silent Hill's endings better.
RE1, being the best RE game made (my opinion), has a few endings to it but all kind of suck except for the best ending, which still gives no closure. Silent Hill, however, has great endings and you have to do things a certain way through the entire game to get the endings, which is a very creative thing that has not been done before.
Also, the game having no replay value is all a matter of opinion and there's no use arguing it. I've beaten all of the main chapters of RE multiple times, and Silent Hill once or twice, except for Silent Hill 2, which I'm on my 7th play through now, just because they are ALL fun games, and being a person that's not exactly made of money, need replay value in my games.
Sorry for the novel I wrote here, but I figured I would try and make a point.

I'm sorry if my statement seems dumb, but multiple endings or not, in a RE you have a real challenge in replaying the game, new weapons, new costumes, even the enemies change in some places, you have timed events and must run for your life, pushing zombies and not fighting them... Some corridors were a nightmare to navigate through without getting touched, it was awsome !!!
I have played every Silent Hill and every RE except Code Veronica (only on Dreamcast at the time, SEGA ? No thanks ) and I think replaying a RE with a Tommy Gun or a Rocket Luncher on Hard mode is cool, and replaying a Silent Hill with a plastic gay lightsaber is, well, gay
PS : I don't mean gay in an offensive way, as a matter of fact, there are some cool gay people with real lightsabers, like Qui-Gon Jin lollllllllllllllll

lol indeed. the only SH game I ever replayed more then once was SH2, I played that to death just for the dog ending (and it was totally worth it).
RE on the other hand, they always have a higher replay value for me... honestly its because they aren't nearly half as scary as SH anymore.
There are 5 different endings to the game. 5 of the 50pt secret achievements are for those endings. They seem to be triggered by certain events. I looked at the strategy guide and seen the list but did not go any further I really did not want to spoil the game and look forward to the different endings. That is what I enjoy about Silent Hill.

patches4711 : this is good news, except if you're supposed to replay the whole game 5 times. I hope with key saves you can avoid that...
I'm sure the game will be worth 5 playthroughs. Besides, they've never been relatively long games, I just bought my copy, and when I finish eating some lunch I grabbed as well, I'm playing it.
Keep us posted on the playtime my friend It hits stores in Europe in like 2 months !!! Ridiculous. And still no Tales of Vesperia release date. What is wrong with Europe ? We're not all assholes lol
