A Revelation of Man 20 Win a Cultural Victory.
Embiggens the Smallest Man 30 Win a Cultural Victory on at least King difficulty.
Citizen of the World 45 Win a Cultural victory on Deity difficulty.Difficulty --- Deity Scenario ---- Beta Centauri Civilization ---- Greeks or any other civilization Once the game has started: Change your government to Monarchy to start. Defend with your 1st Modern Infantry. Barbarians will most likely attack you, which in time is good for you, as it’ll upgrade your unit making them better defenders. Go into the city screen and immediately press (Y) and this will switch your city from producing science, (which you don’t need because you have all technologies), and you’ll start producing gold. Next go customize your workers, putting some on food, some on tech, and some on gold. Then change what you are building to a temple. Once you’ve built the Temple, build the Cathedral. At this point you should get your first Great Person or be close to getting them. You should settle any Great Person, unless it’s a Great Builder. In which case you should use the Great person to complete a wonder for you. Magna Carta should be the first wonder you build. Next you should build a Courthouse, then a Market, then a Bank. Once you have 100 gold and you earn your settler, use that settler to build a new city. In this city you should go in the same order building a Temple, Cathedral, Courthouse, Market, then a Bank. You should also immediately change from science to gold. Also remember, if you can’t settle a Great Person in your capital, move the Great Person to your second city and settle them there. Never use a Great Person other then to settle them, unless you can use that Great Person to complete a Wonder, or if you can use that Great Person to Culture Flip a city. If you get a Great Person that you can’t settle in your first 2 cities, hold on to them and build a 3rd city or take over a city and settle them in the next city. At this point you should build 2 more modern infantry for each city, and combine them to make an army, and you should build 1 Artillery unit that will help defend the city. Build a road between each city. Once other civilizations start bothering you, defend with the modern infantry but use your Artillery to fight the enemies Artillery. But once you have those defensive units in place, you can start building wonders. Start building Wonders from the lowest amount up to the highest. If you get a Great Builder in the middle of a Wonder, hold on to them and use them to build one of the higher cost Wonders. Also in between Wonders, us your gold to build a building before you start the next Wonder. Like a Factory, Iron Mine, or some other building to help you raise your production. And make sure that you build the Manhattan Project and not another Civilization. You’ll come to a point where eventually you’ll have to take over a city or 2. This will allow you to build more culture, and in so doing will allow you to flip cities using your culture. ***You can only flip cities if you know they are there. You could be just a few moves away, but if its under the war fog, then you can’t flip it*** The best way to take over cities, are to mass produce Bombers, form some wings, and have them do all the attacking of cities. Then once they are sufficiently whittled down, move in some ground forces to take it over. Once you’ve taken over a city, the first thing you want to do is build a temple, buy it, and then start building a Cathedral. Then next round you’ll buy the Cathedral and start building a Courthouse. Next round buy the Courthouse and what you build after that is up to you, though Harbors, Granaries, and Aqueducts are a good way to go, (Because the bigger your city, the more culture you earn) By doing this you are increasing your Culture and chances are you’ll start converting cities over with your culture. Also, don’t forget to build roads connecting every city that you’ve taken over. Feel free to take over capitals, since palaces give you more culture…just don’t take over ALL capitals. You shouldn’t need to flip to many cities, as Wonders built and Great People settled should account for about 14+ out of the 20 needed to be able to build the United Nations. Have Fun Storming the Castle 20 Win a Domination Victory.
Vi Victa Vis 30 Win a Domination Victory on at least King difficulty.
Such Joy Ambition Finds 45 Win a Domination victory on Deity difficulty. Difficulty --- Deity Scenario ---- Beta Centauri Civilization ---- American or any other civilization Once the game has started: Change your government to Monarchy to start. Defend with your 1st Modern Infantry. Barbarians will most likely attack you, which in time is good for you as it’ll upgrade your unit making them better defenders. Go into the city screen and immediately press (Y) and this will switch your city from producing science, (which you don’t need because you have all technologies), and you start producing gold.
At this point you should build 2 more modern infantry for each city, and combine them to make an army, and you should build 1 Artillery unit that will help defend the city. Build a road between each city. Once other civilizations start bothering you, defend with the modern infantry but use your Artillery to fight the enemies Artillery. But once you have those defensive units in place, you can start building wonders and buildings as you desire. What you really need to do, is build the Manhattan Project so that no other Civilization has nukes but you. Also, make sure before you really start produce units that all buildings are built in both cities, and don’t be afraid to use your gold to help build buildings. Once you’ve got all buildings built in both cities, start mass-producing Flying Fortress’ or if you’re not playing the Americans, Bombers. Once you’ve got three combine those into wings. Once you’ve got 8 wings of bombers, use one city to build Modern Infantry, and once you’ve got 5 armies of those, stop producing bombers and modern infantry and instead build Tanks in one city and artillery in another. 3 armies of each of those and you are ready to rock and roll!!!! Keep your artillery with your Modern Infantry, and keep your nearby also. Take your bombers, you should have at least 10 wings, and just attack the nearest city. You may lose a few wings, that’s ok though, have your 2 cities go back to producing bombers. Your bombers should whittle away and finally destroy all opposition in the enemy city. Once the next round starts, use your bombers again, if your bombers are no longer able to attack then it’s time to use your tanks to take over the city. Once you’ve taken over a city, the first thing you want to do is build a temple, buy it, then start building a Cathedral. Then next round you’ll buy the Cathedral and start building a Courthouse. Next round buy the Courthouse and what you build after that is up to you, though Markets and Banks are a good way to go. By doing this you are increasing your Culture and chances are you’ll start converting cities over with your culture. Also, don’t forget to build roads connecting every city that you’ve taken over. Anyways, dock all Bomber Wings in your new city, including new ones you’re your 1st 2 cites have built while fighting, along with all your tanks, Modern Infantry, and Artillery. Leave at least 1 army of Infantry in your new city before you start to attack a different city, though I always found it to be a good idea to leave 2. And pretty much what you’ll be doing is rinsing and repeating. Have your bombers do almost if not all the city battle and then let your ground troupes take the city over. At any point you can stop for a few rounds to replenish your army and then start attacking again. I’ve found that after taking over an enemy Palace they will normally want to make peace with you, though sometimes there is an exception. Also, if you know where an Enemy Capital City is, feel free to go straight for the capital. Plus you shouldn’t have to use your nuke at all. But there you have it, it may take some time, but when I played this, I felt like I was playing on Chieftain difficulty, I completely dominated the whole game, I could have won either economic or the culture victory, and that does get annoying because they tell you at the beginning of EVERY turn that all you have to do is build <insert wonder here>. I will say that this may not be the QUICKEST, but I have yet to lose a Deity game using the aforementioned strategy. It's all about culture and gold, and everything else follows. A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned 20 Win an Economic Victory.
The Guy Who Signs the Checks 30 Win an Economic Victory on at least King difficulty.
Playing the Game 45 Win an Economic victory on Deity difficulty.Difficulty --- Deity Scenario ---- Beta Centauri Civilization ---- Greeks or any other civilization really. Once the game has started: Change your government to Monarchy to start. Next go customize your workers, putting some on food, some on tech, and some on gold. Then change what your building and build a temple. Build a road between each city. Once other civilizations start bothering you, defend with the modern infantry but use your Artillery to fight the enemies Artillery. But once you have those defensive units in place, you can start building wonders and buildings as you desire. Make sure that you build The Internet, as that wonder will help the most. But really what you’ll be doing is collecting the gold…building buildings and wonders just help the time go by. And once all the wonders are built, I would switch government from Monarchy to Democracy. It should be noted that you will be challenged by other civilizations, but you should have no problem defending your cities…and while your waiting for your gold, you can always build more defensive units. Once you’ve reached 20,000 gold, go into wonders and start building the World Bank, and you should easily be able to unlock your achievement. Last edited by iskoot; 07-15-2008 at 07:12 PM. |

Ideas Control the World 20 Win a Technology Victory.
640K Ought to be Enough 30 Win a Technology Victory on at least King difficulty.
Indistinguishable From Magic 45 Win a Technology victory on Deity difficulty. Choose the Lightning Scenario. Choose the Aztecs as your Civilization or the Greeks. To achieve a technological win in the Lightning scenario, one only has to get into the modern age, (24 total techs researched). So there will be no space station launching going on. Aztecs will help you achieve this since they get +3 science per temple they have built. Or the Greeks will help you achieve this as they get more Great People. You start off with 3 cities with an archer in each. The best thing to do is to go into the city screen and customize the workers. Your gonna have 1 big city, 1 medium city and 1 small city. All cities should have at least 2 science production. This is how I like to have them set up. Small city = 2 science, 2 food, & 2 production. Medium city = 4 science, 2 food, & 2 production. Large city = 4 science, 2 food, & 4 production. Now please note that those are really just estimates, but should be close to that. I’m also going to warn right now, that you can find out from the beginning if you have a good chance of winning or not. If your cities are around a lot of land and not a lot or water, quit right away because your not going to win easily…if at all. If you are around a good bit of water then let me warn you when I say that a lot of this can and maybe will fall down to whether you get a certain great person or not. Once you have built a library and a temple, customize your workers again. Maybe this time give some cities some more science, and for your largest city bump up the production just a bit, while still managing to have science. Pick the quickest science you can research every time UNTIL you see democracy in the list, (if 2 techs take the same time, figure out which one helps towards getting Democracy and research that). Research Democracy then switch to Democracy as soon as you have it researched and then continue researching the shortest tech. SOME EXTRA TIPS
TIPS ON HOW TO USE GREAT PEOPLE When you get Great People, the best thing to do is to us them for their powers right away. If you get a Great Person, don’t settle them take their gifts! There is only one exception, if you get a great scientist, settle him into your largest city that is surrounded by a lot of water. If you should get a Great Person that would allow you to complete a wonder immediately, I would definitely recommend that you use that to get the Great Wall built, (meaning you’ll have peace while researching techs so you won’t have to worry about building defense units), or the Colossus of Rhodes, (which will up the amount of science being researched.) If you get a Great Person that will give you gold, take that gold. If you get a Great Person that will give +1 population to your cities, take the +1 population. Know that this achievement is tough, but this scenario is quick. If you get half way and they suggest that you save, don’t even bother, if you lose just retry it again. This scenario is an easy way to get a difficult achievement, and luck of the draw when it comes to Great People is going to make you or break you. Destroyer of Worlds 30 Win all types of victories (Domination, Technology, Cultural, and Economic). You are able to get this achievement before winning on Deity difficulty. So if you don't mind playing the game a few extra times, play through a game on the easiest mode, Chieftain, and play your heart out. You should be able to get all four wins with out to much difficulty, but still I will give you tips.

That We May Live in Peace 25 Win the game by year 1000 AD on King difficulty or higher.Difficulty: King Civilization: Aztec Using the Aztec civilization is the easiest way to achieve this achievement. First thing you want to do, is go into your city screen and customize your workers so that you have them all on science production. Then you’ll want to rush a warrior unit. Once you leave the city screen, save your game. And choose to research for Horsemen. From here use your warrior to determine where the closest city is…it should be only 5-6 turns away at most. Once you’ve discovered the closest city, reload your save and move your warrior there ASAP. Chances are you’ll get there as they produce their warrior and maybe you’ll get lucky enough that they’ll take him exploring and you’ll have a free city. But either way, save before you attack, but then attack and take over this city, if your warriors loss, then just reload the Saved game and redo it. I was able to get mine the first time. Now you’ll want to save a again, and again go out searching for the rest of the cities. Once you’ve found them, Load up your saved game again, and us your warrior to go exploring…possibly finding gold and technologies for you. Once you’ve got horsemen researched, change both of your cities to PRODUCTION, and start mass producing horsemen. I was able to take over my first city with 1 Horse Army, and an extra Horse unit. Use the time in between horse production, to take a Horse unit and go fight some barbarians. This will allow you to get Veteran status and possibly an elite status, like infiltration, before you go fight your first city. Main thing to remember is to save BEFORE you attack a city and if you’re successful then save AFTER you take it over. Once take over cities keep mass producing Horse unit and make Armies. My third city I took over with 3 Horse Armies, and my fourth and final city took me 2 rounds with 4 Horse armies to win. I finished in 600AD and only had to restart once…and that was trying to take over the third city, I got completely beat up, so I reloaded and tried again, and ended up winning that time. Random Notes:
Absolute Power is Kind of Neat 25 Win without changing governments on King difficulty or higher.Follow the guide for Power Never Takes a Back Step, but DON'T change your government. If you want you can use another civilization, such as the English as they start with Monarchy, or any other civilization. Just DON'T and I repeat DON'T change your government and you'll get the achievement. Power Never Takes a Back Step 25 Win with only one city on at least King difficulty. Start on King Scenario ---- Beta Centauri Civilization ---- The Greeks Type of victory: Economic Once the game has started: Change your government to Monarchy. Defend with your 1st Modern Infantry. Barbarians will attack you but they will be no matches for your Infantry. Put city on Production. Build the Cathedral & Courthouse. Use a Great Person to build the Magna Carta for you, Build the Bank. Settle 1 of each Great Person in your City, namely the ones that will increase output of culture and gold. Use another Great Person to complete The Internet. Change City to Gold. From here you can continue to build buildings and wonders, but mainly you’ll be just collecting gold, round after round. It should be noted that you will be challenged by other civilizations, but try to give them what they want to keep peace, though do try not to give them a lot of gold. Also, you can build a few units near the end if it will make you feel more secure, but 8/10 times you won’t need more then just the infantry you started off with. Once you’ve reached 20,000 gold, go into wonders and start building the World Bank, and you should easily be able to unlock your achievement. You can also use this method to achieve an economic victory on Diety difficulty and unlock the Achievement Playing the Game. Want to give a Special Thanks to Gevexx, VAS Black Mamba, Asgorath, Roaming Dragon, pts100, TheMystic and tastefulmrship for allowing me to use their tips.

I will post a few Strat. to speed up a few Achievements.
Difficulties Mastered 30 Win a victory with each civilization. The fastest way to do this, is to play the Scenario Blitzgame (need English name, it's the Scenario with the Electricity Icon) on Chieftain and focus there on a Technology Win you only need to research 24 Technologies and even less because you get a few Techs for free at the start of the game and if you get 500 Gold. It will ussualy take 15 Minutes per game much faster than regulary. My fastest Game was 8 Minutes.

I saved my game, and it ended 5 rounds later with a french domination victory, and my english civ was a close second. So I reloaded my last save, overthrown my democracy, restored despotism and then nuked Paris (I'm french and I used to live there, so it was kinda weird). It instantly killed like 70 million people , and I got the win and the achievement. So if you have trouble taking over the other civs on higher difficulties, just grow your population, protect your cities with the best defensive units (modern infantry), build the manhattan project, wait till you get the "game will end in 5 rounds" screen and then drop the bomb on the biggest city you can find. Organized Knowledge 25 Develop a city to produce 200 science per turn.Build a City that is well surrounded by water and fully develop it (Library and University is needed), use a Great Personality that boosts Research and put your City on Technology. You should be able to get it somewhere around City Level 25. Or if you done the Achievement below just use the same city and change to Technology. The Root of All Evil 25 Develop a city to produce 200 gold per turn.Build a City that is well surrounded by water or desert and fully develop it (Market and Bank is needed), use a Great Personality that boosts Gold and put your City on Gold Production. A few World Wonders will help to get it faster, but it's not needed. You should be able to get it somewhere around City Level 25. Or if you done the Achievement above just use the same city and change to Gold Production. The Universal Brotherhood of Man 25 Develop a city to produce 200 culture per turn.As usual fully develop your Capital City and put your Civilization on Monarchy (or use English because they start with it). Use your Capital City for this one because it gains a boost from the Palace. A Great Person is needed as well as the "Shakespeare Theater" World Wonder (Culture 2x) to gain it. |

Play as the Mongols.
You get a city for each of the barbarian tribes you defeat BUT as you didn't 'settle' them it doesn't affect the achievement. Hell, I even did "Absolute Power..." at the same time. |

I'm playing Beta Centauri on Deity Difficulty, and it's very easy to win for an Economic Victory (and looks easy for a Cultural one too). Just place your starting city around some mountains to get a high construction, and build everything. Start with the guys with guns and get an army going - they defend against pretty much everything. Any civ seems to be OK, as you spend most of the time defending. As great people come, it could offer the chance to take over a city, but it's possible to win with one or two.

i found out that the easiest way to win in the highest difficulties is playing money rules the world ( at least , direct translated from german to english , i dont know the exact scenario name ) and take a rush civ like zulu , or germans . buy buy buy buy and rush your first enemy down ( you have to be very unlucky and slow if he set up a archerarmy before you arrve with your first army unit ) . immediatly tech on riders , even if you are zulu . after you defeated your first enemy , you will gain approx 800 gold , because he was to dumb to spend it . if your fast u can kill your next opponent even without catapult , if not , doesnt matter , just surround him , keep one city on technology , buy new buildings or even wonders , and one city , the closest to the next enemy , to pump out units . as soon as you have catapults the next one should be finished , because u sieged him out of every ressources and he wont spent enough money to overcome you .
if you need the victory condition achievements on the highest difficulty than this is a good strategy , with every civ . 1 hint is letting 3 riders alone , do not formate them , and strafe around enemy territory again and again . they will settle soon , and a new city has no defense , an unsettled settler as well ![]() this is the same stategie i used for the 1000 AD achievement , on king difficulty . dont hesitate to restart if your starting position , or first strike luck isnt good . i achieved my win at 100 AD ![]() edit : playing the lowest difficulty is time wasting i think , because u have to play the higher ones again for all the achievements , so you can do those one with the victory ones and civ based ones again . You CAN capture other citys, just dont make a new city with setlers.
Same as with owning a city in war, you can keep those and still unlock the 1 city achievement.

TIP: That We May Live in Peace " Win the game by year 1000 AD on King difficulty or higher"
This achievement is really easy to get. You need to rush for a Domination Victory before the year 1000 AC. I started with the Aztec civilization on normal setting, kingdom difficulty (I unlocked every achievement on normal singelplayer). First thing you need to do is SAVE the game. (Discover the map with warriors and then reload to know where everyone is settled) When you reload set your people on full science with customize settings. (So no population growth or production) And set your research on horseman. Meanwhile, Rush your first warrior unit with the 20 gold which you’ll get in the start. (which is only possible with the Aztec.) If you got an enemy near, walk to it and if you are lucky you can take his city without battling it. Otherwise use a hill to beat his first set of warriors. Sometimes there isn’t any warrior in the village because the civilization is discovering the area with his first warrior. When you have discovered horsemen, set all your people on production and start rushing horsemen units. Also with the cities you have unlocked after defeating them use their production too rush for new units. Go to the nearest city and try to break it. If you find some uncivilized cities on your way , look what the power-up is when you defeat it. If it´s not interesting it’s a waste of turns. (maybe reload if it’s nothing useful and make your way to the city first and come back later when you have more turns to waste) If your enemies aren’t all on the same island, first control the hole island and then set your horsemen to the next island. When you are too slow, stop boosting the horseman and put everything on full science for catapults. With allot amount of cities you will have complete the science, way before they made some strong defensive units. Random notes: > keep in mind that defensive units aren´t needed just keep on rushing and make sure you know how your map looks like. >Wasting turns is the worst thing you can do. So if things can go quicker do so. >Cities don’t need to grow because you will keep unlocking new one fast. >Sometimes not joining 3 horsemen into 1 unit will give it 3 attacks instead of 1. This is useful when you need to clear some last units of warriors. >It might be easy to save after some perfect moves For me this worked, I won the game 700BC. Good luck, Mathijs

That's a great tip Black Mamba. I used that strategy and got my win at 300 BC

About great persons: it looks like kidnapping them doesn't count towards the achievement. I abducted Marie Curie using a spy (I have unlocked everybody but her), but she still doesn't show in the hall of trophies, and the achievement didn't unlock.

Maby the diffencence between using and settleing them would make the achievement work. I never tryed it cuz the achievement unlocked very early in my gameplay time.

i was about to edit my post... It actually works, you just have to wait a couple of turns after the abduction before the game registers the fact that you unlocked the person. Actually, abducting great persons is a great way to get a quick cultural victory. I don't know if settling/using makes a difference, though. I settled marie curie, and the achievement unlocked after my next turn.

80% Of Sucess Showing Up is easy to get actually, easily done by starting up your first game with the Americans, it will pop up the moment the game starts, trust me, I got it that way
