I used to work in Blockbuster and the summer months were appalling due to the lack of big games (and films) that came out. Hopefully this shift will signal a change for the entire industry. That being said I think certain games can be released any time and will still sell a bucketload. Imagine if GTA4 was released on Xmas day - people would still be out queuing around the street to get it. Lets not forget the fact that Bioshock was a mid-year release last year and did superbly, so that's surely got to take some credit. |

  Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Watching The Watchmen Posts: 531  | nice editorial, its good to know that developers are changing things like release times i was always sick of waiting for November for everything to come out at once, like Jackanape said there had always been a shortage of releases in summer. I suppose with Massive titles like GTA and metal gear it makes sense for companys to make use of the lack of games and in effect tap into a competition free period where they will sell plenty of copies. __________________  Quote:
