Welcome to Grand Theft Auto V. One of the biggest experiences you may ever play on the Xbox 360. Among the gigantic amount of things that you can do in this game, collectibles play a large role in the achievements. There are a grand total of 297 collectibles scattered across the world, although only 245 are required for the achievements and 100% checklist progression.

You will be required to collect:

  • 50 Spaceship Parts
  • 50 Letter Scraps
  • 50 Under the Bridges
  • 15 Knife Flights
  • 50 Stunt Jumps
  • 30 Nuclear Waste

Collecting the above items will unlock 5 achievements worth 95 :gsicon:.

Every section below will provide clear instructions on what is necessary for each type of collectible. There are certain characters which work best in certain situations, and some of the collectibles also require prerequisites before they can be started.

TIPS:

  • Make sure to use "Quick Save" often, especially during Stunt Jumps, Knife Flights and Under the Bridges. You'll be able to load up your save if needed.

  • Collectibles can be picked up in any order.
  • Videos will show a detailed map location of the collectible, followed by a video of its exact location.
  • Collectibles that require special actions like helicopters are marked with "*" which are then explained underneath the timelinks.

Spaceship Parts (50)

Prerequisite: Using Franklin, you'll need to talk to a Stranger/Freak called Omega in east Sandy Shores. Once you talk to him, you can begin collecting the spaceship parts.

Recommendations: Any character can find these once Franklin's triggers the mission. Also, chop can help locate these pieces with use of the iFruit app on your cellphone although this feature is not necessary nor extremely useful in most instances.

Notes: After collecting all 50 pieces, you will receive a text from Omega and he will show up on your map. Deliver the last piece to him to unlock the achievement. Make sure to take the Space Docker vehicle with you!

Letter Scraps (50)

Prerequisite: None.

Under the Bridges (50)

Prerequisite: None.

Recommendations: Trevor has the highest flight skill, so he is the best character choice.

Notes: You can steal a buzzard helicopter from N.O.O.S.E Headquarters (Southeast just off the city). There are also helicopters available on the police station and Los Santos hospital, although they are much larger. You are also free to use your cellphone to buy one if it is easier. Also, make sure you get a notification when going under a bridge, and verify that your count matches the number in the corner of the video to save yourself from a headache of doing them all over. They don't always count perfectly.

Knife Flights (15)

Prerequisite: None.

Recommendations: Trevor has the highest flight skill, so he is the best character choice.

Notes: There are multiple planes that you can use here. Buying the McKenzie Airfield will allow you to use the Red Plane inside the hangar after completing air trafficking missions. Also, yellow Crop Duster planes will regularly land here, which can be useful. Also, the stunt plant is small and nimble. The Jet is NOT recommended as it has a high learning curve for most players.

Stunt Jumps (50)

Prerequisite: None.

Recommendations: Franklin’s driving ability is very useful.

Notes: Sportscars can easily be found in the areas surrounding Michael's house. If you are in dire need of a car, feel free to call a taxi and hijack it, as most of the jumps can be completed in the cab if necessary. Also, it is likely that one jump (#4 in video) will require a motorcycle. Lastly, it is crucial to adjust the wheels and stunt jump speed to complete these. It is essential for you to land flat on all your wheels, and you can alter your cars position using the left stick. You can also adjust the speed in which time passes with the right stick. I recommend a medium speed for time as it tends to work the best.

Nuclear Waste (30)

Prerequisite: You must purchase the "Sonar Collection Docks" for $250,000, which becomes available after completing "The Merryweather Heist" mission. You can use any character.

Recommendations: Use a quick general map preview in the video, and then use trackify to pinpoint the collectible.

Notes: You will get $23,000 as a reward for each barrel of nuclear waste you collect. This property has a large potential return on investment, and can be used to easily build up some money early on in the game.

Extra Collectibles

Submarine Pieces (30)

These pieces can be collected using Michael after buying the Sonar Collection Docks which shows up after completing "The Merryweather Heist". There is a mission here for Michael to trigger by speaking to a woman named Abigail. At this point, a dingy will appear near the dock and Michael can use this along with the trackify app to find all 30 pieces. You should use the app to find the location of the piece and then begin scuba diving using Michael, until you get to the bottom of the ocean floor, and pick up the item. Completing these grants no substantial reward.

You can see a video for these

.

Epsilon Tracts (10)

These can only be collected after completing all 8 of the Epsilon mission within the game. To start this series of mission, complete the Epsilon Identity Evaluation on http://www.epsilonprogram.com, using the in-game internet browser, using Michael, which will spawn a new strangers and freaks on Mount Josiah. After completing "Unknowing the Truth" you can begin collecting the 10 Epsilon Tracts. Collecting all tracts will reveal a hidden message on the Epsilon website. The link will be sent to you sent to you via email, and show up on http://www.epsilonprogram.com/tract.

You can see a video for these

.

Hidden Packages (12)

Hidden packages are scattered amongst the ocean floor around the outside of the map. Hidden Packages contain "large" sums of money ranging from $10,000 - $25,000. They are often found in interesting areas, next to sunken boats or crashed airplanes. Armour and guns are often found in the areas close to the hidden packages, and may be worth keeping an eye out for. Collecting all of the hidden packages will gain you about $130,000 in cash.

There is already a thread of a 100% completion guide.

Please read the forum section or check for threads before making one.

The other one is very usefull though.

Are you actually trying to tell me about forum rules? I'm offended.

Duplicate threads are unwanted when they are for discussion or questions.

It doesn't matter.

Both Maka and PP always make these guides. Just because one of them has it up before the other doesn't mean the second shouldn't post his...look at the Splinter Cell Blacklist Forums.

Plus, Maka provides commentary unlike PP or Prendi (no offense to them).

OT: Great job, Maka.

Made a decent sized update to the thread.

- Added working timelinks for flights and under the bridges.

- Added spaceship parts video, and info.

- Added explanation for nuclear waste.

- Added more of an intro.

- More formatting.

Still lots more to come, should be done within 48-72 hours though!

  • 2 weeks later...

Was a little downed with the small traffic to this thread, but I've got my mojo back and have added a lot of content.

  • Worked on introduction post
  • No-linking timelinks have been added for all collectibles (These will be hyperlinked shortly)
  • Added detail to descriptions (intro) for all achievement based collectibles
  • Completed explaining Nuclear Waste (video not necessary for radar based collectibles - although they may be added)
  • Explanation for Submarine Pieces
  • Formatting

Hey Maka, just a thought about the Nuclear Waste video. When I did that the video was actually pretty helpful. Despite having the radar, you don't actually know where it is until you get very close to it and some of them are miles apart. I think without the video it would have taken me twice as long honestly. The video showing the waypoint on the map was the most helpful part really, not so much the actual footage of the collectible.

Okay, that makes sense. I'll capture the video today, and edit it for tomorrow!

Yeah. It's not a big deal I didn't mean it to sound like I was being a dick. Now that I read it back it looks like I was being arrogant.

The only reason I knew is that I did it with Michael whilst wearing the Epsilon Robes to kill as many of the 10 days as I could.

No, I didn't take it that way, so don't worry.
