**Diving Header

A slightly different approach : p Set up a multiplayer (local) 2 player match.. any teams will do (maybe brazil 4 urself). With the second controller pass the ball to the goalkeeper and then run all the way (with the ball) to the other end of the pitch..(i let go of the pad around the penalty spot) quickly change to your pad (your profile) taking the ball off the keeper, then launch a high ball towards the goal where your other player/s will be..(most of the time) Simply hit the a button after the bounce (aiming at goal) and bingo an open goal and achievement unlocked. If @ first you don't succeed... keep trying. Tip - any high long ball towards their goal will do as long as it gets a bounce for you to header... i got mine from just after the half way line ! (^^,) Hope this works for you..

Thanks for this mate i must of tried around 500 corners and couldn't score it took me around half an hour of trying your method I have to say. but i think it's the easiest here's how i did it. Obviously local game 2 players 10 minute game on a dry pitch. I put my profile team as Barca the other as b36 (from the faroe islands) ran the ball to around the edge of the barca box with the b36 keeper then stopped. grabbed the ball with a barca player and played a high ball up the pitch (to play a high ball you have to kick the ball pushing the analogue stick the way you are facing then when the ball is released quickly pull the analogue in the opposite direction) this will give the ball the height and bounce needed now just after the ball bounces hit the A button and direct it towards goal.

I was about to try this strategy out, but then I actually scored a header!

I got it from a penalty kick. Shot it straight at the keeper, it bounced back and wham. Beautiful goal and Achievement unlocked. Not sure if this was complete luck, but if you can get a PK, try it.

Hi,

This is for anyone else, who like me, was/is struggling to gain the diving header achievement, even with the hints and tips given elsewhere. After trying for about 30-45 mins using the method(s) suggested I decided to mess around myself and think I've found an even easier method.

Go 2 players (you as both) chose 1 good team (I went Milan) and 1 rubbish time (I chose B 36 from the Faroe Islands). Using the good team, run the ball down to the oppositions goal and then put it out for a throw-in just parallel to the edge of the penalty area. The rubbish team will then take the throw-in. Using the second controller pull the opposite way to where the ball will be thrown (for example, if your throwing the ball to the right, pull left on the stick) and press A, this will make the player use a high throw-in which will go over all of the players waiting for the throw-in. Now all you have to do is quickly go back to your main team's controller and press towards the goal and try to time your header.

This took me about 3 tries before I finally scored the diving header and got the achievement (a total of about 2-3 mins using this method).

The advantage of this method is that you don't have to worry about whether your players will be in position or not if you do a long ball up field, as they'll already be in the opponents penalty area!

Hope this helps anyone who is struggling like I was.

I can't do this. It's the most annoying thing ever!!! I don't seem to be able to get any sort of height on the ball. Also, do i just have to press A and a direction for the diving header? My players just seem to slide tackle!

Used this method and got it in my second match, using 2 mins halves! Used B36 and Milan, but I also editted B36's formation to put all players in the attacking halves so they are out of the way for the throw in, don't edit Milan's formation as you need a midfielder hovering on the edge of the box. Pitch was hard to make the ball bounce higher.

One slight difference was I had the throw in not parallel to the edge of the penalty area, but one player's width outside. When the ball is in the air, change pads, hold the stick directly in the direction of the goal, wait for the ball to bounce, and shoot . The first 2 or 3 attempts were saved by the goalkeeper or slightly wide, but it's all about the timing.

I got this one by pure accident, but I think it's a situation that may be repeatable. What I did was drive in with my striker and when I was a few feet outside the 6 foot box I shot at the goalie. He saved it but it bounced right back and I tapped A and the guy who originally shot headed the rebound into the back of the net.

I got a second this way in the same match (I was going for the win by 10 achievement) so it seems pretty easy if you can get close enough to the keeper without him taking the ball.
